[[WMG: The alien invasion is to blame for the Confederation's generic name]]
* In ''Classic'', there is no reference to the Confederation having a longer name than, well, "the Confederation", but that may make sense in the context of why and how it was formed: the majority of human worlds quickly coming together to pool their resources and efforts in a desperate defence against the invasion of the Aliens. Actually establishing that confederation would have been top priority, and by paring down the name to the barest minimum the diplomats involved could have avoided getting bogged down on that detail in favour of getting to the more important part of putting soldiers into warships.

Hyperspace travel is instantaneous in EVC

** It is jossed in ''Nova'' - one or two scattered texts mentions things being done while in hyperspace. That, of course, does not mean it is jossed for the other two games - after all, all three games takes place in entirely separate verses from one another.

* {{Hyperspace}} causes time to slow down, The reason a larger ship take longer is because the more massive a {{Hyperspace}} tunnel needs to be created, this causes a higher time dialation slowing down time further, it might be {{Jossed}} Because Hypergate's in Nova are instant, but the hypergates could use wormhole technology while warp drives use {{Hyperspace}} Tech.
