After trying to apologize to Lucy and failing miserably, he would realize that his former friendship with Lucy is destroyed beyond repair and that he could never be forgiven for what he's done. Hell, if he walked in her general direction again, her brothers would probably beat the tar out of him. He would also probably be kicked from (or leave voluntarily) the table by his friends (especially Paulo) in an attempt to get Lucy back. The only people he could turn to then would be either his family (his parents are probably busy with work, Chris is just 3-5 years old, and his sister will probably only bug him), his girlfriend Sandy (who is all the way in Richter), and Abbey, and he's more than likely still dealing with his breakup with Daisy (so no support from Daisy maybe). TakenUpToEleven if Sandy breaks up with him. Socially isolated and not able to probably deal with his negative feelings, he would start thinking about running away given that there is nothing for him in Roseville now (i don't think he would attempt suicide like Lucy, he's probably much more mentally stable than that). In terms of place he could run away to, it could either be to Sandy's house in Richter (if they haven't broken up) or to some other city (most likely somewhere on the East Coast, given that the author said that the city of Roseville is on the East Coast). So in terms of cities, maybe New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., all the way down to Florida? So many possibilities. I know runaway teen is cliche and all but it would still make a very good plot and would cover the issue of teenagers running away from home and what dangers they would face.

[[WMG: Mike will run away from Roseville in a later chapter]]

Hell, if he walked in her general direction again, her brothers would probably beat the tar out of him. She got the idea of how they would react so she set it up like she wanted to leave the town, faked what needed her to be going to the hospital and meet up with her father and is now awaiting to see how everyone she left behind will react.

[[WMG: Unlikely ways for the series to end.]]
* Alejandro becomes an all-powerful entity and lets out his revenge leading to everyone trying to figure out how to ultimately defeat him. David tries to succeed through comedy relief but in the end Lucy returns with a sword in her hand. This blade is nothing ordinary, it is the only weapon to successfully win this final battle. She stabs the foe in his chest and Mike realizes he was meant to be with her, they forgive the wrongs of the past and walk off into the sunset. (Augustus dies somewhere in the mix of this, possibly)
* All the remaining main characters are slowly killed off in the path of life's craziness. Lucy comes back to town in the final chapter and sees all the gravestones responding either with:
1. "I knew this would happen."
2. "Serves them right."
3. Maniacal laughter
4. "Excellent" a la Mr. Burns
5. Waking up with one of those "That was a crazy dream" endings.

When they were younger, Lucy was socially isolated, which led to her developing her {{Tsundere}} personality. Mike, on the other hand, doesn't appear to have faced as many issues while growing up, and turned out to be a NiceGuy. However, thanks to their friends [[AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale laughing off Lucy's abuse]] and [[ButtMonkey treating]] [[CantGetAwayWithNuthin him]] [[TheUnfairSex poorly]], he has grown bitter and cynical. This has only grown worse after their friends learned that he rejected Lucy's confession -- he's even been explicitly told that his LongDistanceRelationship with Sandy 'doesn't count' because "those never work out", and that he should hook up with the girl who's right there, ''despite'' how she [[CharacterDevelopment used to]] treat him so badly.

During this rant, he will call them on the DoubleStandard they showed in regard to Lucy's pre-CharacterDevelopment [[AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale treatment]] of him, as well as how they themselves gleefully used him as a ButtMonkey. He'll also ream them out over their presumption that he and Lucy should get together just because she confessed despite his ''already being in a relationship with Sandy'', spelling out how much it hurts that they assume she doesn't count just because it's a LongDistanceRelationship. With everyone worrying about Lucy's hurt feelings, he'll claim they've forgotten [[DidYouThinkICantFeel he has feelings too]] -- and they've been hurting them and his friendship with them for ''years''.

It might be the only familiar landmark or plans were made long ago that whenever something happened they would meet up there.

True she could be dead, but in all honesty I don't think that's the true explanation, (even if it isn't I think this idea for why she's gone is not only better but also something that's more likely to happen it this comic) my idea is that(given that David openly admitted that he'd like to have sex with someone at least once), since not even David is stupid enough to recognize somebody has a thing for him (not at first though) he had with Kizuna and got her pregnant, but due to his inability to take things seriously (at least that's how he strikes me) he treated learning that he knocked her up as a joke...Kinzuna got heartbroken and just left school, what would happen next I'm not sure but I think she might have just carried the pups in her...but that's only my opinion.

[[WMG: David deliberately cultivates his FlatCharacter status]]
As the FourthWallObserver of the comic, he realizes that serious relationships and character depth only leads to grief. As hinted at the end of the Summer Vacation arc, he's afraid of changing because that will cause grief and complication in his life.
