It's set in a vaguely historical fantasy town ruled over by characters from Western [[FairyTale fairy tales]] and ([[Literature/ThePictureOfDorianGray mostly]]) children's literature, who make up various mafia families. Most prominently influenced by ''Film/TheWizardOfOz''. It was adapted into a short anime in the summer of 2016 and was ported to the UsefulNotes/PlayStationVita under the name ''Ozmafia -vivace-''

It's very bright and colorful and there are frequent festivals and celebrations, but it's controlled by [[{{Mafia}} Mafia families]], led by an [[spoiler: immortal]], super-powerful upper class that largely doesn't seem to care about the chaos and casualties their power-jockeying causes the rest of the town. All of the townspeople are literally branded with the symbol of the mafia family they serve, and if they refuse to join a family, their only choices are to live in the crime-ridden slums or the dangerous forest. This general awfulness is [[spoiler: intentional and enforced by Soh.]]

A young woman wakes up in an alleyway with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Looking up, she sees a silver-haired man staring at her. He proclaims her to be his prey, draws a sword, and begins running towards her. She instinctively flees in the opposite direction... only to [[CrashIntoHello crash straight into]] the local [[TheDon mafia don]]. Fortunately, he's a good-natured sort who's not one to abandon a lady in distress. After routing her pursuer and determining her unfortunate situation, Don Caramia offers her shelter within Famiglia Oz's territory while she adjusts to life in the town.

* InsecureLoveInterest: Axel is romantically inexperienced and socially awkward, and painfully aware of it. He worries extensively over whether he can make Fuka happy.

* TooDumbToLive: Fuka on occasion - particularly in Caesar's route, which requires her to specifically seek out a violent man who has already tried to kill her ''multiple'' times.
* WhatAnIdiot: Fuka, if she keeps coming to the brothel despite being explicitly told not to by many, many, many people. [[DownerEnding It doesn't end well.]]

* BastardBoyfriend: Kyrie can edge into this, taking advantage of Fuka's naivety and desire to please him by tricking her into unfortunate situations [[{{Sadist}} for his amusement.]]

* TroubledButCute: Caesar leads a gang of outlaws and actively attempts to murder Fuka on multiple occasions. Doesn't stop him from being a love interest.

* ActionGirl: Pashet, as well as almost all of House Boots.
* AdaptationDyeJob: Dorian Gray was a blond in [[ThePictureOfDorianGray the original novella]].
* AmbiguousGender: Heidi. She uses feminine pronouns, but when Fuka specifically asks her what she identifies as, Heidi tells her not to worry about it.
* AmnesiacHero: Fuka has no memories from before finding herself in the alleyway with Caesar. [[spoiler: It's because that was the moment she was created - the moment she, as Dorothy's soul, tried to leave the tower.]]
