** You have to escort Dennis home in the first game, and then through TheLostWorld in the second. He also shows up in the third, but at least by then he's carrying a ''bazooka'' to defend himself with.

* AmbiguouslyGay:
** Dennis the cheapskate and the "green tree frog". He delivers some FlamboyantGay mannerisms and tasks Ty with finding a thunder egg that was colored pink, although the reason for this can be interpreted as that Dennis had a thunder egg collection that he was seeking to complete and apparently did not have a pink one to complete it.
** Dennis' nephew also shows some of the traits his uncle has

* FlamboyantGay: Dennis the cheapskate, I mean ''green tree frog''. It's not stated, but he seems a safe bet. The same goes for his nephew...
** Hinted at further when you retrieve a Thunder Egg in the third game. So far, they've all been color coded: red for fire, blue for ice, green for... electricity, and several gold ones were used as medals. The ones Dennis tasks you with finding? ''Pink''.

* ActionGirl[=/=]FauxActionGirl: Shazza accompanies you on a few missions in Ty 2 and 3, complete with a blaster in hand. (Then there's her occasional sidejob of being a DamselInDistress....)

* ActionGirl[=/=]FauxActionGirl: Shazza accompanies you on a few missions in Ty 2 and 3, complete with a blaster (which, from a layman's perspective, looks more like a toolbox that shoots lasers) in hand. (Then there's her occasional sidejob of being a DamselInDistress....)

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: When the Lasharang hits an enemy, it spins them around for a few seconds (whether it inflicted actual damage or not). The Lash Chassis in the third game does the same.

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: When the Lasharang hits an enemy, it spins them around for a few seconds (whether it inflicted actual damage or not). The Lash Chassis in the third game does the same. It's upgrade, the Warparang, does one better, and ''drills'' enemies into the ground if you keep hitting them.

* FollowTheLeader: Conceptually, Ty is obviously following in the footsteps of ''Franchise/CrashBandicoot'', both of them being platforming mascots based on obscure Australian mammals. Additionally, the games are often criticized for being blatant ripoffs of the ''Franchise/JakAndDaxter'' and, later, the ''Franchise/RatchetAndClank'' games. The first game less so.

Additionally, the games are often criticized for being blatant ripoffs of the ''Franchise/JakAndDaxter'' and, later, the ''Franchise/RatchetAndClank'' games. The first game less so.so, feeling more like ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie'' with alot of fetch quests, and the bilbies looking like they could easily fit into a Rare game. Only Ty has alot more combat, weapons, and abuse of non-anthropomorphic animals.

* MacrossMissileMassacre: The ''modus operandi'' behind Sly's Missile Bunyip in the climax of the second game. It's literally a Battle Bunyip with ''missile-spewing gatling guns''.

* SaveThePrincess: Shazza in TY 1 and TY 3. Much, much worse in the third game.

to:

* SaveThePrincess: Shazza in TY 1 and TY 3. Much, much worse in the third game. Averted in TY 2, where she's MUCH more useful, serving as your driver to get you from place to place, and even taking control of a Battle Bunyip with a unique color scheme during the climax.

to:

* SewerGator: One of the missions in TY 2 is getting rid of a bunch of crocodiles in the Burramudgee sewers. It's actually kinda scary because of the foreboding corridors, and the sudden appearance of crocs when rounding corners, combined with the growling sound they make.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Shazza between the first and second game. In the first game, she looks more like a hillbilly, with loose, messy hair, and an outfit with a BareYourMidriff aspect. In the second game, her hair is now in a ponytail, and her clothing much more conservative. It got even more conservative in the third game.

** It could've been worse. Mario could've gotten it, too.

* UnbreakableWeapons: This applies to every one of your boomerangs. Including the ones that ''explode violently''.

* UnexpectedGameplayChange: OK, so it's SLIGHTLY expected this time around -- TY 2 and 3 feature Cart Racing courses littered across the world map. However, they're also open right from the menu, so you at least know they're there. TY 3 adds in a HighAltitudeBattle (or eight).

''[[RecycledTitle TY the Tasmanian Tiger]]'' is the fourth game of the main series. It involves, once again, Boss Cass being villainous, and TY being heroic. In contrast to its predecessors, which were all 3D platformers, it is a 2D platformer on Windows 8.

''[[RecycledTitle TY the Tasmanian Tiger]]'' is the fourth game of the main series. It involves, once again, Boss Cass being villainous, and TY being heroic. In contrast to its predecessors, which were all 3D platformers, it is a 2D sidescrolling platformer on Windows 8.8.

In March 2016, it was announced that Krome will port the first game in the series to PC and OSX with HD graphics, and that the other two console entries in the series will follow. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam.
