** Two artifact weapons, the Vorpal Blade and the Tsurugi of Muramasa, have a 5% chance to inflict instant death, which is completely irresistable to anything humanoid (and the majority of things that aren't). These are guaranteed to spawn in the hands of two classes' quest nemeses (giving those bosses the 5% chance to instantly kill you), and the vorpal blade can randomly be given to monsters on the very last level of the game.

** The player's ability scores are capped at 25 (after all bonuses are applied). "Strength" behaves rather strangely, being semi-capped somewhere between 18 and 19--represented by 18/[number], where 0.[number] is the amount of extra strength above 18 you have. Just to be extra-confusing, 19 strength is displayed as 18/**. The only way to boost Strength to 25 is to wear Gauntlets of Power.
** The highest possible Luck score is 14 (13 if it isn't a full moon).

* CharacterAlignment: Three of them: Lawful, Neutral or Chaotic. Which alignment your PC can possess depends on their race and class, and alignments in turn determine which god you're supposed to sacrifice too, as well as what sort of conduct your PC has to follow to avoid getting smited by a BoltOfDivineRetribution.

is very hazardous--you always "sink like a rock" and if you're too encumbered to climb out quickly, you'll die instantly. Some monsters can grab you and drag you into water, which is also immediately fatal.

** Experienced players will sometimes waste wishes. The most egregious example I've seen was from an ascention where someone playing an Elven Priestess reached the Castle and got a 0:1 Wand of Wishing without either poison or fire resistance. Her four wishes: 2 blessed scolls of charging, 2 blessed tins green dragon meat (poison resistance), 2 blessed tins of red dragon meat (fire resistance), and a tin opener. That player still had one wish in reserve that they didn't need to use.
