Contrary to most doujin fighting games out there, Akatsuki Blitzkampf's playstyle is regarded as old-school and quite reminiscent of the fighting games Capcom produced during the 90's, including parries similar to the ones seen in the Franchise/StreetFighter III series.

* LimitBreak: In En-Eins Perfektewelt, you have a burst move called KanzenSekai (lit. Perfect World), which can be done anytime (by pressing A+C+D), even during certain moves to cancel out of. Doing this puts you (or your opponent) in a state where the background is trippy, same for the music, but the benefits to this is that you regain some lost health, any attack sends purple lightning bolts, and a bit of increased defense. Pressing A+C+D during the burst will initiate a damaging super move while in close proximity which will flash the words "Achtung" across the screen very quickly. Activating KanzenSekai uses up your super meter for the entire round and wont get it back until the next round, so use wisely.

Akatsuki Blitzkampf (アカツキ電光戦記 Akatsuki Denkō Senki) is a Doujinshi doujinshi fighting game developed by Subtle Style. Released on April of 2007 as a sequel to Subtle Soft's 2002 game Akatsuki Shisei Ichigou, Akatsuki Blitzkampf got a lot of attention in Japan and elsewhere for its high-resolution sprites and older style gameplay. In-game visuals supplement this sort of specific militaristic theme and environment, portrayed by the flat and somewhat cubist character portraits and story sequence images. Also, the gratuitous amount of extra modes the game provides (such as Survival[Endurance Matches], Time Attack, or SUGOROKUA sort-of Snakes and Ladders-like 'game' that the player must clear) and the ways that they are unlocked is largely reminiscent of a console release of an arcade fighting game, further reinforcing the semi-retro feel.

** However, in En-Eins Perfectewelt, as Kati, she is more susceptible to this.

** Akatsuki and Murakumo are almost surely representatives of this world's equivalent of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
** Subverted with Kanae, who seems to have been inspired by the modern Japan Self-Defense Forces (Jietai) instead.
