* WeAREStrugglingTogether: Morpheus is holding both major cities in China and the United States at hostage with T-virus loaded warheads if they do not pay him a sum of $1 Billion. Both countries clandestinely insert their best agents, Fong Ling and Bruce McGivern respectively to eliminate Morpheus. However, the two countries did not rule out cooperating with each other, possibly due to "conflicting interests." This is even Lampshaded by Fong Ling when she first faces off with Bruce. However, once Ling was almost killed by a Chinese orbital weapon, she and Bruce finally worked together to foil Morpheus's plans.

A spinoff brand of the Franchise/ResidentEvil franchise, Gun Survivor is a series of light gun games produced by Creator/Capcom between 2000 and 2003. Unlike traditional gun shooters, which are usually rail shooter on-rail shooters as well, the Gun Survivor titles allows the player to explore the game's environment freely, making them much closer to first-person shooters.

A total of four entries in the Gun Survivor series were released:
# Resident Evil: Survivor (PS) -- An investigator named Ark Thompson gets trapped on Sheena Island during a t-Virus outbreak and must escape.
# Resident Evil: Survivor 2 - Code: Veronica (Arcade, PS2) -- A reinterpretation of the events of Code: Veronica, except modeled as an arcade-style shooter, with co-op play enabled with players controlling either, Claire Redfield or Steve Burnside.
# Dino Stalker ([=PS2=]) -- The only installment that is not related to Resident Evil, Dino Stalker is actually a VideoGame/DinoCrisis spinoff. Mike Wired, an ace fighter pilot from World War II, is transported to hyperspace in order to fight against time-displaced dinosaurs.
# Resident Evil: Dead Aim (PS2) -- A government agent, Bruce [=McGivern=], boards a luxury liner called the Spencer Rain, owned by Umbrella and itself another site of a t-Virus outbreak.

Due to the fact that Dead Aim supported Creator/Namco's [=GunCon=] light gun, Bruce [=McGivern=] and Fong Ling from Dead Aim both appear in VideoGame/NamcoXCapcom as representatives of the Resident Evil franchise.They still qualify for UnexpectedCharacter.

!!This series provides examples of:
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Dead Aim has transforming into a Tyrant and gradually becoming worse.
* AllJustADream: The ending of Survivor 2 reveals that the events of the game were part of a long dream Claire was having during the events of Code: Veronica.
* BagOfHolding: Survivor is one of the few games in the franchise which gives you a limitless inventory.
* BoomHeadshot: All three games avert this; shooting zombies anywhere on their body has the same effect regardless of weapon choice.
* ChineseGirl: Fong Ling.
* ContinuityNod: The events of Sheena Island from the original Survivor are mentioned alongside Raccoon City and Rockfort Island in the opening prologue of [=RE0=].
* ColonCancer: The full Japanese title of Dead Aim is Gun Survivor 4: Biohazard: Heroes Never Die.
* CutAndPasteEnvironments: Survivor recycles a lot of enemy assets from VideoGame/ResidentEvil2, and Survivor 2 naturally takes liberally from Code: Veronica.
* EasyAmnesia[=/=]IdentityAmnesia[=/=]LaserGuidedAmnesia: Ark Thompson in Survivor.
* EmergencyWeapon: Survivor and Survivor 2 both give the basic handgun(s) infinite ammunition, though they still need to be reloaded.
* EvenTheSubtitlerIsStumped: Sort of, in Dead Aim, everyone is understandable, but the subtitles have a habit of deviating from what anyone is saying.
* Expy: Dead Aim was based on a rejected proposal for [=RE4=], with Bruce [=McGivern=] and Fongling being obvious stand-ins for Leon and Ada.
* FrickinLaserBeams: The Charged Particle Rifle in Dead Aim.
* GasMaskMooks: The Umbrella Trashsweeper unit and their leader, the UT Commander.
* GenderBender: after he becomes a Tyrant seriously looks like a female to the point of apparently growing breasts.
* GhostShip: The Spencer Rain.
* HideYourChildren: Averted with Lott and Lily Klein.
* ImmuneToBullets: from Dead Aim, due to generating an electromagnetic deflector shield.
* ImplacableMan: The Nemesis.
* ItsTheOnlyWayToBeSure: Sheena Island is set to self-destruct to contain the infection and destroy the evidence.
* KillSat: Used to try and kill Fong Ling in Dead Aim after China pays off Duvall to try and not turn their country into a radioactive zombie wasteland.
* KlingonPromotion: Vincent apparently did this to get up the corporate ladder.
* LightGunGame: The [=GunCon=] support was taken out from the U.S. version of the first game due to a backlash against light gun games and first-person shooter by moral guardians as a result of the Columbine shooting at the time (it was still featured in the Japanese and European versions). Played straight with the rest of the series.
* LongTitle: Dead Aims full Japanese title is Gun Survivor 4: Biohazard - Heroes Never Die.
* NoExportForYou: America never got Survivor 2.
* PinPullingTeeth: Fong Ling does this at the beginning of Resident Evil: Dead Aim.
* PromotionToParent: Lott after his and Lily's parents are zombified.
* QuestForIdentity: Ark again.
* ThirdPersonShooter: Dead Aim was sort of a hybrid between this and an FPS, the player could move in the third person perspective, but would have to switch to first person whenever aiming.
* TimedMission: Survivor 2, due to its arcade nature, gives each level a time limit. Let it run out, and the Nemesis comes for your blood.
* Who Names Their Kid Lott
* WorkingTitle: Survivor 2 was being developed under the name BIOHAZARD: Fire Zone.
