''Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame'' is the second installment in the ''Franchise/PrinceOfPersia'' series. Originally released by Creator/BroderbundSoftware in 1993 for the UsefulNotes/IBMPersonalComputer, it was ported over the next few years to the UsefulNotes/AppleMacintosh and in Japan to the UsefulNotes/PC98 and Platform/FMTowns. A UsefulNotes/SuperNintendoEntertainmentSystem version was released by Creator/TitusSoftware in 1995; a Platform/SegaGenesis version never got past the prototype stage.
