* TeleportInterdiction: Portals can only be created on certain types of surfaces (e.g. white tile, yes; bare metal, no). Navigating through areas with few or no portalable surfaces becomes an increasingly common puzzle element in the later stages.

DNDTR is not to be used as a trope. It is an index - find an appropriate subtrope. Also, we are not here to document every factual error in every work ever.

* DidNotDoTheResearch: [=GLaDOS=] states that Aperture Science equipment can withstand temperatures of up to 4000 degrees Kelvin. You're supposed to say "Kelvins", not "degrees Kelvin".
** This small error aside, there are plenty of examples where it's evident that they have done some research, such as the hidden static pictures.

** And then they remade the final battle so many times that it lost the more interesting techniques (if indeed it ever had them). You don't, for example, have to do the double-fling, or circumvent any destruction grids, or work out any momentum-gaining techniques to beat the battle. It seems like they could've stopped the learning curve pretty close to the middle of the game and gone straight to the finale without handicapping you in any way... which is actually kinda sad, when you think about it.
