'''Musou Stars''' is an upcoming MassiveMultiplayerCrossover HackAndSlash video game developed and published by [[Creator/{{Koei}} Koei Tecmo]], in the same vein as ''VideoGame/WarriorsOrochi'' before it. Unlike ''Warriors Orochi'', which focused specifically (and, at first, exclusively) on ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' and ''VideoGame/SamuraiWarriors'', ''Musou Stars'' will encompass more than ten of Koei Tecmo's non-licensed titles.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Due to the developers trying to keep every characters' original design if not outright their original model, the character designs fit on the whole sliding scale of Realistic vs. Stylized designs. From the "realistic" end is the nearly photorealistic William, next comes the characters with the "semi-realistic" look of most of Koei Tecmo's games, like Zhao Yun, Yukimura and Ryu, then we have the CelShaded {{Animesque}} people (primarly from Creator/GustCorporation), like Sophie, Hajime and Rio, finally on the "stylized" end, we have Nobunyaga, essentially a cartoon cat and Opoona, some kind of roundish alien.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: The character designs fit on the whole spectrum of Realistic vs. Stylized designs. From the "realistic" end is the nearly photorealistic William, next comes the characters with the "semi-realistic" look of most of Koei Tecmo's games, like Zhao Yun, Yukimura and Ryu, then we have the CelShaded {{Animesque}} people, like Sophie, Hajime and Rio, finally on the "stylized" end, we have the complete oddballs like Nobunyaga and Opoona.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: On the one hand, there's characters with the more "realistic" look of most of Koei Tecmo's games, like Zhao Yun, Yukimura and Ryu. On the other hand, there's characters with more of the CelShaded {{Animesque}} design, like Sophie, Hajime and Rio.

* MeleeATrois: Each of the heroes will align with Tamaki, Shiki and Setsuna competing to be king.

** Most people aren't aware of Nobunyaga, the anthropomorphic cat version of [[VideoGame/NobunagasAmbition Oda Nobunaga]] who debuted in the mobile phone social spin-off game ''Samurai Cats'' (which had a VERY short-lived western release.)

* PettingZooPeople: The OriginalGeneration are anthropomorphic beings, specifically of the CatFolk (and dog/wolf) variety.

'''Musou Stars''' is an upcoming MassiveMultiplayerCrossover HackAndSlash video game developed and published by [[Creator/{{Koei}} Koei Tecmo]], in the same vein as ''VideoGame/WarriorsOrochi'' before it. Unlike Warriors Orochi, which focused specifically (and, at first, exclusively) on ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' and ''VideoGame/SamuraiWarriors'', ''Musou Stars'' is meant to encompass more than 10 of Koei Tecmo's non-licensed titles.

There exists a MagicalLand that has long prospered thanks to a miraculous spring. However, the king who controls the spring has died, sending the world onto the path of destruction. To save it, the queen tells her daughter of a legend of a hero from another world that will grant his power to his guide, to help him/her become the new ruler. If the guide is coronated the new ruler of this land, he/she will have the power to revive the spring. The princess attempts a ritual to summon this hero, but her spell goes haywire, instead summoning multiple different heroes from various worlds and scattering them across their land. To make matters worse, there are two others that also have their sights set on the crown, dividing all of the summoned heroes into 3 opposing factions.

The currently expanding, playable roster will consist of the following characters:

* ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive'': Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka, Ayane

* AlreadyMetEveryone: Well, not ''everyone'', but some members of the roster should already be familiar with each other:
** Thanks to Orochi, the ''Dynasty Warriors'' and ''Samurai Warriors'' characters have already met, as well as Hayabusa, Ayane and Kasumi. There's also a casual tie to the ''Atelier'' series thanks to Sterk (who appeared in ''Orochi 3''), but he does not belong to the same continuity as Sophie and Plachta (the representatives here).
** Rio made a cameo in ''Dead or Alive: Paradise'', a PSP-spin off of the ''Xtreme'' games, where she dealt at the casino and can be used to play games with as a non-combatant. Naotora would later become a GuestFighter in the more recent updates to ''Dead or Alive 5''.
** To some extent, there's the ''Samurai Warriors'' cast, Nobunyaga and William - all of whom existed and at times interacted with each other during the UsefulNotes/SengokuPeriod in real life. However, in this game they all come from different continuities.
* CrisisCrossover: Is one towards Koei Tecmo works, featuring a bunch of their characters from a bunch of their intellectual properties. Furthermore, as it's implied only Koei Tecmo characters are part of the roster, no characters from licensed properties in other Koei Tecmo HackAndSlash ''Warriors'' installments will appear (in other words, don't expect any [[VideoGame/DynastyWarriorsGundam Gundams]] or [[VideoGame/HyruleWarriors Link]] to show up).
* DownloadableContent: Transformation costumes, which basically dresses up one character as another member of the roster. For examples of the ones known so far, there's Yukimura as Hayabusa, Wang Yuanji as Kasumi, Hajime as Yukimura, Millennia as Plachta and Marie Rose as Opoona.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Zhou Cang makes his debut in ''Musou Stars'' before his official appearance in ''Dynasty Warriors 9''.
* GenderEqualEnsemble: The roster is nearly split equally between men and women, with 14 guys and 16 girls.
* HailfirePeaks: The various battlefields also encompass the various themes taken from the various games, ranging from traditional Chinese and Japanese seen in previous ''Warriors'' games to cel-shaded anime fields from ''Atelier'' and even (thanks to Rio) a casino.

* LighterAndSofter: Compared to ''Warriors Orochi'', at least for now. While there is still a war, it's for less malevolent reasons: the characters are summoned to restore order to the OriginalGeneration kingdom and the war is waged by the three heirs to the throne, unlike the world-destroying plots caused by Orochi.
* MeleeATrois: Each of the heroes are taken by one of three factions competing to be king.

* UnexpectedCharacter:
** VideoGame/{{Opoona}} caught many people by surprise. Even after being teased in the initial teaser trailer, many still didn't believe that he got in.
** [[Anime/RioRainbowGate Rio Rollins Tachibana]] was also a big surprise, as she's from a series of Pachislot games [[NoExportForYou exclusive to Japan]], and said games are based around ''gambling'', not fighting.
** This game also has Oda Nobunyaga. Yes, Oda Nobu'''nya'''ga, an anthropomorphic cat version of [[VideoGame/NobunagasAmbition Oda Nobunaga]] who debuted in the mobile phone social spin-off game ''Samurai Cats''.
