* SuperMode: The game offers each Servant at least one of these while some Servants feature two (normally one of the two SuperModes is unique with a different animation start-up) and those with two normally can use one or both at the same timethis doesn't apply to Artoria and Gawain as their unique SuperModes does the same as their common ones which activate their swords true power. While the real SuperMode/Regalia Forms grant the inability to be stunned, do more damage to enemies and reduce damage taken, each Servant who has a unique/similar version of their own sports a special animation for when they activate it. Nero and Tamamo each have their Regalia Forms thanks to the Moon Cell while Altera sports two individual SuperMode forms. Others usually have their regular SuperMode which have to be activated by normal meanswhich is accomplished by pressing the triangle button and the button for Guard at the same time shown as an indicator of them holding back normally before getting serious, this includes Cu Chulainnactivates his normal SuperMode by using rune magic, Namelessjust like the shared SuperMode, he activates his by turning Kanshou and Bakuya into their Overedge Forms, Gawainchannels the PowerOfTheSun into his sword adding flames to his attacks, Karnauses his Prana Burst Flames ability to imbue all his attacks with flames, Alteraactivates the power of her sword which shows by her glowing red for the duration and Jeanneraises her flag and for the duration, her flagpole will flash with the color gold. Li Shuwen stands out as unique in that his personal SuperMode can be activated like the other Servants as in it can be activated in the same way and be used after entering his common SuperMode...or be activated passively by using his combination finishers and thanks to this it can potentially have infinite duration thanks to it also being activated constantly (and by this, his unique SuperMode duration meter returns to full duration if he resets it) thanks to Li's combination finishers each time he pulls one off.

The resetting of the HGW with La Pucelle was only in the early drafts of Fate/Apocrypha in its initial concept form as an online game.

** Noble Phantasm: GilgameshUses Ea over Enuma Elish, KarnaVasavi Shakti is massively weaker than how it 'appeared' in Fate/Apocrypha however it still retains the downside of defensively weakening him after each use, Li ShuwenSomewhat played straight but kept like how it worked in Fate/Extra as only in cutscenes did it actually come closer to killing the victim in one blow, Jeanne's La PucelleDoesn't restart the Battle at all and its overall power in completely annihilating the victims is removed but it still kills her after she uses it making this more of a risky reward even though it still hits very hard.

None of this involves AI-controlled characters making intelligent, complex decisions.

* ArtificialBrilliance: While opposing Servants tend to have this, very rare Sector Bosses are this as well including some minor AI mooks. Flying AIs tend to use the lightning element which auto-stuns if you get hit too much leaving your only options to run or guard until the debuff ends. Getting hit in the air isn't fun. Then there are the Sword-Sector Bosses and huge Titan Sector Bosses which while both can't be stunned unless hit by Extella Maneuvers, SuperMode attacks or by Noble Phantasms, the former can't be harmed otherwise if hit while you are on the ground and is only normally stunned by aerial heavy attacks or aerial attacks in general while the latter isn't stunned by anything short of Extella Maneuvers, SuperMode attacks and Noble Phantasms. Combine this with those flying mooks and you'll be struggling to end the stage on time. Speaking of enemy Servants, they tend to guard not long after being attacked and on Hard and Very Hard, they auto-Guard the moment you get near them, since Guarding also prevents them from being hit by the initial start-up of Extella Maneuvers, you can't use an Extella Maneuver on a Guarding Servantonly applies if you try to use the Extella Maneuver on an opposing Servant who is currently in Guard stance. Additionally opposing Servants tend to Guard-Counter a lot more on Hard and Very Hard which leaves you open to aerial attacksGuard-Counter is a unique attack that both your playable Servant in action and the opposing Servants can use only while they are guarding themselves from attacks and the time frame can only occur when the defending Servant in Guard stance about to be attacked while they are guarding. During the animation the Servant that Guard-Cancels will glow blue briefly and knock any enemies next to them into the air while damaging them but the timing to do so is very short so either you perform it or cancel your guard and get punished yet opposing Servants rarely fall into the stupidity on Hard or Very Hard. It is possible to block a Guard-Counter by quickly shifting to Guard right as you see the opponent's Guard-Counter stance starts up yet countering a Guard-Counter requires extremely quick reflexes. This is actually very brilliant as this game is just like the standard Dynasty Warriors games where you normally just attack everything in sight until all enemies are defeated, here opposing Servants will try to anticipate your attack and counter at the last moment to catch you off guard. Certain enemy Servants also carry unique aspects on some stages. Whenever your Sub-Servant tells you to take out a certain Servantsuch as Iskandar and Gilgamesh in the Nero, Tamamo and the Golden Poem Arcs, they will be super armor and in most cases can only be stunned or stopped by Moon Crux/Regalia blows, Extella Maneuvers or by your current Servant's Noble Phantasm and they also take less damage than normal. Additionally, Servants that your normally told to not attacksuch as Nero in Altera's Arc when you need to defeat Gawain, Gawain and Altera in Tamamo's Arc when you need to first take over the sunlit fields to weaken the former or defeat Gilgamesh instead for the latter, and Lu Bu for Nero's Arc for Stage 2 can't be stunned at all outside of Extella Maneuvers and Noble Phantasms from your current Servant only and they take much reduced damage.
** This falls under ZergRush as well. Some stages in each Story Arc (and in Free Battle if you want to repeat that stage but with a different Servant instead) will rush to an ally field in a few seconds and attack right away. You are given a few minutes to regain high-ranked fields to 'stabilize' the situation or else you'll lose the stage requirements. To make things worse, the ZergRush involves every opposing Servant doing this and they tend to take over ally sectors in a few minutes so you either take over a high-ranked sector or two before rushing to kick out an opposing Servant or you fail to clear the stage. During this, enemy Plant programs spawn much faster so it forces the Player to think well ahead of time if they want to pass.
** Enemy Servants who are meant to target you unless you do something specific ZergRush the Player Servant as it's their primary objective. Gawain targets everyone in Tamamo's faction (that is the Servant you are controlling) until you lure him to Lu Bu minus Lu Bu (since it's a different event as by that point you are instead fighting Altera's forces not Nero's.) In Altera's Arc, Nero in her Regalia Mode will auto-target you until you lure her into one of your sectors but if she takes over that sector she will once again auto-target your Servant. During this, all of them are in super armor and take much less damage than normal and can only be stunned by Extella Maneuvers and by Noble Phantasms.
** More of Sector Brilliance. Some sectors on some stages carry an elemental Sector Trap that explodes on your Servant should that sector belong to the enemy. Your current Servant will say to prepare the correct Code Cast to nullify the damage but the explosion is time-delayed by the fact that the beginning signs of it taking place occur a bit after said Servant warns you and the explosion takes place about a minute after. Some of these stages also carry the annoying aerial AIs just to spite you meaning that you'll be forced to use one Code Cast to heal and another to nullify the Sector Trap, you can't use two Code Casts at the same time so if the trap is about to explode and you need to be healed right away, good luck.

Whenever your Sub-Servant tells you to take out a certain Servantsuch as Iskandar and Gilgamesh in the Nero, Tamamo and the Golden Poem Arcs, they will be [[ImmuneToFlinch super armor and in most cases can only be stunned or stopped by Moon Crux/Regalia blows, Extella Maneuvers or by your current Servant's Noble Phantasm and they also take less damage than normal. Additionally, Servants that your normally told to not attacksuch as Nero in Altera's Arc when you need to defeat Gawain, Gawain and Altera in Tamamo's Arc when you need to first take over the sunlit fields to weaken the former or defeat Gilgamesh instead for the latter, and Lu Bu for Nero's Arc for Stage 2 can't be stunned at all outside of Extella Maneuvers and Noble Phantasms from your current Servant only and they take much reduced damage.damage.

Then there are the Sword-Sector Bosses and huge Titan Sector Bosses which while both can't be stunned unless hit by Extella Maneuvers, SuperMode attacks or by Noble Phantasms, the former can't be harmed otherwise if hit while you are on the ground. Additonally opposing Servants tend to Guard-Counter a lot more on Hard and Very Hard which leaves you open to aerial attacksGuard-Counter is a unique attack that both your playable Servant in action and the opposing Servants can use only while they are guarding themselves from attacks. During the animation the Servant that Guard-Cancels will glow blue briefly and knock any enemies next to them into the air while damaging them but the timing to do so is very short so either you perform it or cancel your guard and get punished yet opposing Servants never fall into the stupidity on Hard or Very Hard. This is actually very brilliant as this game is just like the standard Dynasty Warriors games where you normally just attack everything in sight until all enemies are defeated, here opposing Servants will try to anticipate your attack and counter at the last moment to catch you off guard. * ActionizedSequel: The game ditches the slow turn-based RPG gameplay of Extra and CCC in favor of a much more action oriented and fast-paced hack and slash.
* AllThereInTheManual: Robin Hood is only mentioned in the special edition exclusive Fate/Extella material book, where it's revealed he's been made Tamamo's entertainer and is forced to obey her every whim, otherwise he gets zapped.

** AbilitiesAs in abilities abilities/certain skills that are either enemy-only or are removed from the game:game: Nero and CuNero's Thrice-Setting Sun and Cu's Battle Continuation skills which can auto-revive them after activation are removed but this is most likely due to Command Seals being able to revive your Servant up to 3 times, NamelessThis applies to his arrows which in Fate/Extra and Fate/Extra CCC could debuff enemies at a chance, GawainOnly as an enemy on certain stages does Numeral of the Saint take effect and it makes him a pain to defeat if you want to fight him while he's buffed by it, Li ShuwenPresence Concealment only applies to Li when he's an enemy on certain stages and it makes him invisible completely until he reappears which is usually when he decides to attack, KarnaHis armor and earrings are nerfed heavily to where they don't reduce damage from enemies by 90% like in Fate/Apocrypha however they do make him very durable until you use his Noble Phantasm, MedusaBloodfort Andromeda's actual use is an entire Stage debuff to all your allies while it heavily buffs the enemy Servant Lu Bu whenever it shows up, GilgameshHis Armor isn't as durable as it was in Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night since he takes normal damage that isn't weakened.

** Overall attacksThis includes any 'skill', Noble Phantasm or Extella Maneuver attack that appeared in any other work: KarnaHe's hit quite hard as Brahmastra/Brahmastra Kundala are much weaker than in Fate/Apocrypha and just one use nearly killed Jeanne thanks to his 'Master's' support, NeroOddly, it's her Extra CCC skill, Fax Caelestis which doesn't auto-Burn debuff those who get hit, Cu ChulainnPeraps the worst as Gae Bolg doesn't prevent those who are hit from healing. This is apparent as Servants who retreat then reappear in the same Stage return with some more HP than they had before they temporarily left and hits from enemy Cu can be healed off if you still have Code Casts/use healing items, GilgameshChains of Heaven only restrain the enemies during his Extella Maneuver and his original use of Gate of Babylon is in one of his combos not his regular heavy attack.

* TooAwesomeToUse: The Noble Phantasms of the Servants. They're big, flashy, impossible to interrupt once triggered (on the player's side), and literally the most powerful moves in their arsenal, capable of destroying anything short of the stage boss with one use. The problem is that in order to use them one needs to collect three sets of booster circuits, which can only be obtained in specific areas around the map or by attacking an enemy Servant and interrupting their Noble Phantasm usage. However, due to the fact only the Boss Servant of the stage will likely ever attempt to use their Noble Phantasm, there are only three sets of booster circuits at most on any one map, and that using the Noble Phantasm resets the count means that a Servant can only hope to use their Noble Phantasm once during a level, so it will likely only see use as a finishing move against the boss. That's not even considering the negative effects some of said Noble Phantasms can have, such as lowering defense or even killing the user.

True Noble Phantasms, on the other hand, are such a high-impact undertaking they require a set of booster circuits to trigger.
