Neither of those is deliberate though. Just because you can find some things in common with Evangelion (what with Evangelion's giant robot battles and DS 2's...non-giant robot battles) does not make it a whole plot reference. The game being obsessed with the end of the world just makes it yet another Shin Megami Tensei game, as pretty much ALL OF THEM are. It also doesn't have enough in common with the other two referenced games to be a deliberate attempt to BE those two games plot.

That trope is covering the hero doing something the viewer is expected to find morally wrong and the other characters in the story calling that out to highlight it. Not a completely normal scenario where you having to choose from one of three choices leads to people representing the other two choices not liking your choice. That's *normalI*.
