* DarkerAndEdgier: Already looks like this according to the trailers and E3 demo, seeing as how it has an overall darker and more serious tone than the first game, and will involve the Infernal Demons turning against Bayonetta, Jeanne being taken away to Inferno, Bayonetta going to Inferno to rescue her and having to face incredibly terrifying demons along the way, and a new Lumen Sage whose goal is to eliminate the last of the Umbra Witches (read: YOU).

* HighAltitudeBattle: In the E3 demo, Bayonetta fights against hordes of angels, all the while riding on the top of a Fighter Jet.

* ShoutOut: The level at the playable demo at E3 is called [[VideoGame/JetSetRadio Jet Set Holiday]].

* SummonBiggerFish: Just like in the first game, Bayonetta is fond of summoning a demon bigger than the angel/enemy she wants to take down. During the E3 demo, however, the one she summons, Gomorrah, unfortunately breaks from her control and becomes the next boss fight. The E3 footage implies that the demons she summoned for the first game will serve as boss fights.

* TraintopBattle: Bayonetta fights a boss on top of a fast moving train in the E3 demo.

** As had Temperantia in the most recent trailer, shown fighting the full size version of Queen Madama Butterfly.

* CallBack: In the beginning of the game, Bayonetta gets her white clothes shredded, reducing her to the nude, before she dons her regular outfit. * DeadpanSnarker: If the E3 2014 trailer is anything to go by, then the Mysterious Boy is shaping up to be one of these.

* EvilCounterpart: Bayonetta seems to have one in this game; a masked Lumen Sage who can fight her on equal footing and summon angels, just as she can demons. Some eagle eyed watchers have seen that he can also shift into an Animal same as Bayonetta.

** The boy from the most recent [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o09zRJNpmI4 trailer]] has necklace that looks very similar to [[Franchise/YuGiOh the Millennium Puzzle]] not to mention his fighting style has him using cards to attack enemies.
