** In the third film, Gru's twin brother's name is Dru. Okay, right? Well, no. Gru's full name is Felonius Gru. This means that his brother is named Dru Gru. Sheesh!

** [[Series/TheLegendOfKorra The sequel series]] has a more direct example: The Earth Queen's name [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_Chinese_profanity#Anus is a Mandarin euphemism for "anus"]]; albeit a MeaningfulName given [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen her personality]].

* The Kanker sisters from EdEddNEddy have a surname that is the exact word for 'cancer' in Dutch, as in the disease. As if that's not bad enough, the way cursing in dutch works, it can be an expletive, and is a possible BerserkButton for people who lost loved ones to it. It was quite sensibly AdaptedOut in the dub in favour of more thematically appropriate 'Drammer' (pushy).

** Bart's best friend is [[UsefulNotes/RichardNixon Milhouse]] [[UsefulNotes/BenitoMussolini Mussolini]] Van Houten. Matt Groening even said he purposely picked the most unfortunate name for a child.

** The former editor of the Foal Free Press was named Namby Pamby

* WesternAnimation/{{Pingu}}'s sister's name is ''Pinga''. The word is probably meaningless in it's original Swiss French and the show was produced years before Pinga as a sexual slang entered mainstream North American English.

* Khaka Peu Peu from ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb''.

** In "The Old, Old West", Penn and Boone can't help but mock at the town named "Butte".
* Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger has a BigBad called ''High Bishop Gajah'', which is pretty much BilingualBonus since ''Gajah'' is ''archaic Indonesian'' for ''Bishop''. However, in modern ''Indonesian'' and ''Malay'', the word unfortunately means ''Elephant''.

* The name of the titular character in WesternAnimation/NiHaoKaiLan may sound like a typical Chinese name to most westerners. However, for people who speak a little-known Chinese dialect called ''Hokkien'', her name means ''Chinese broccoli''.

** As if [[SpellMyNameWithAnS/{{Anime}} deciphering the proper romanization]] of [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Deszaras Deszaras]] wasn't frustrating enough, the name also causes TF fans in Hungary to giggle, as it's so close to the expressions "de szaros" (how shitty) and "Beszarás!" (Holy shit!).
