Her real DespairEventHorizon was when she was told she'd better leave the Akatsuki HQ. That was a bigger hit than Itachi's death. Not so strange, considering she'd had a year to mentally prepare herself for that. The HQ, however, was the only place she'd ever thought of as a home and while still trying to adjust to Itachi's death, she had to cut off all bonds with that one place. In other words, there's a reason her favourite word is "place".
