* WriteWhatYouKnow: In Shaun of the Dead, Shaun tells Mark, who's hungover from a large drinking binge the previous night, he's heading to the store for snacks and asks him if he wants anything. Mark simply responds with "Cornetto". Wright has stated that in his college days, he would eat Cornettos as a way to cure a hangover, hence the inspiration for this scene.

* ChannelHop: Sort of. In the UK, all three films were released by Creator/{{Universal}}. In the US, the first two films were released by Universal's label for "cult" films at the time, Creator/RoguePictures, while the third was released under the Creator/FocusFeatures brand (since Rogue had been sold to another company).

* TypeCasting[=/=]PlayingAgainstType: In ''Film/ShaunOfTheDead'' & ''Film/HotFuzz'', Pegg played the [[StraightMan Straight(er) Man]] to Frost's AdultChild. This actually pre-dates the trilogy to ''Series/{{Spaced}}'', with Pegg & Frost maintaining the same dynamic seen in Shaun of the Dead'' & Hot Fuzz. ''Film/TheWorldsEnd'', on the other hand, switches the roles around.

* ReferencedBy: Pegg and Frost cameo in the anime series, ''Anime/ScottPilgrimTakesOff'', executive produced by Wright. I’m the last episode, they are seen eating Cornettos, as a reference to the trilogy.

* ShoutOut: The "Three Flavours Cornetto" name is a clear reference to Creator/KrzysztofKieslowski's famous Film/ThreeColorsTrilogy.

* AscendedFanon: The name, "Blood and Ice Cream" wasn't really thought up by Wright. It came about when while doing a panel, a fan couldn't help but notice the running theme of Cornetto in all the films and asked about it. Wright just shrugged and told him it was a coincidence. The fans ran with it coining the nickname and eventually Wright turned it into the official name of the series.
