* BudgetBustingElement: The season two premiere "[[Recap/TheVentureBrosS2E1PowerlessInTheFaceOfDeath Powerless in the Face of Death]]" uses the licensed song "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" by Rozalla in its opening montage. The creators had to fight tooth and nail with Creator/CartoonNetwork as, according to creator Creator/DocHammer, the licensing cost 1/8 of the season's ''entire budget''. They included some BitingTheHandHumor in both a later episode and the DVDCommentary (which includes a voicemail from a network exec initially denying them the money) poking fun at the situation. It was only after Hammer played them the scene cut to some (intentionally) awful music he had written that they agreed to pay for the rights.

** Hammer and Publick don't have many nice things to say about Baron Ünderbheit, claiming that he never really worked as a character. By the time of "All This and Gargantua-2", Publick claims he was downright sick of writing the guy, and a cut scene even had him acknowledge that he didn't fit anywhere but Ünterland.

** Hammer and Publick don't have many nice things to say about Baron Ünderbheit, claiming Ünderbheit quickly became one according to creator commentary in the early seasons. Originally intended to be the [[BigBad more threatening, competent villain]] to contrast the IneffectualSympatheticVillain Monarch, they found him to be too much of a generic EvilOverlord that he never really worked they struggled to mesh with the rest of the series vibe. He gets [[PutOnABus written off]] in season two's "[[Recap/TheVentureBrosS2E7LoveBheits Love Bheits]]" (otherwise one of the creators' [[CreatorBacklash least favorite]] episodes) and remains there for two-and-a-half seasons until he's brought back with some purpose as a character. By fitting member of the time of Revenge Society. "All This and Gargantua-2", Publick claims he Gargantua-2" was downright sick of writing the guy, and planned to have a cut scene even had him acknowledge where he'd outright declare that he didn't never fit in anywhere except his homeland and ask to be sent back, but Ünterland. it was cut, leaving him with an UncertainDoom.

* IKnewIt: Several instances.
** As soon as the season five finale aired, many fans guessed that the decrepit mansion that Phantom Limb (and later, the entire Revenge Society,) used as their headquarters was really the childhood home of the Monarch, who was about to move back in with his wife and #21. [[spoiler: The opening sequence of "All This and Gargantua-2" confirmed it.]]
** The Investors and [[spoiler: Dr. Killinger]] being of the same species/class of beings/organization was another popular fan theory proven correct by "All This and Gargantua-2" as well. The theory hinged on both having similar abilities, but who use them in different ways. [[spoiler: Killinger acts a benevolent TricksterMentor who helps his clients ''earn'' what they want most, and helps them make important realizations about themselves. Meanwhile, the Investors ''give'' their clients what the clients seek, but as part of a DealWithTheDevil style deal.]]
** The fan theory of [[spoiler: Dr. Venture and The Monarch]] being brothers were heavily suspected by fans for ''years'', citing their similar facial features, builds, and hair color. "Arrears in Science" suggests it to be all but true.
*** As of the [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrosRadiantIsTheBloodOfTheBaboonHeart Series Finale]]: [[spoiler: They're both clones of the original Rusty Venture, with The Monarch having 2% baboon DNA spliced in.]]

* ExecutiveMeddling:
** Long-time Adult Swim president Mike Lazzo was frequently a positive example, accepting the creators' slow creative process (with as long as three years passing between seasons at times) and went to bat for them several times, approving episodes/ideas that other producers and network executives wanted to veto.
** Michael Ouweleen took over after Lazzo stepped down in 2019, canceling the show after it had previously been renewed following season seven in 2018. Co-creator of ''WesternAnimation/HarveyBirdmanAttorneyAtLaw'', Ouweleen is on the record as being upset that ''The Venture Bros.'' got to continue on when ''Birdman'' was canceled. He used the show's cancelation as an opportunity to push the ''Birdman'' spinoff ''WesternAnimation/{{Birdgirl}}'', leading to much emnity in the ''VB'' fanbase toward ''Birdgirl''.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Listening to the creator commentary on some episodes is kind of sad once you hear how many interesting tidbits had to be cut for time:
** The Freudian dream sequence in "The Doctor is Sin" had a fairly interesting backstory that had to be cut.
** "Doctor Quymn, Medicine Woman" was slated to have a flashback implying that Dr. Quymn could be the boys' biological mother (hence why she resembles Dean so much) as well as some PetTheDog moments for Dr. Venture.
** The entire show started off as just a one-shot story for the anthology comic book ''Monkeysuit'', but Publick realized that he couldn't fit all the ideas he had into a single short story and set about reworking it into a full animated series.
** The series was originally pitched to Comedy Central, but they passed on it.
** According to the creators, they originally intended the first few seasons to have more "supervillain of the week" plots, with the Monarch and Ünderbheit being the most prominent in their RoguesGallery. However, they felt that the Ventures were more in the tradition of adventure serials than comic book superheroes and found that every time they tried to create a new supervillain to menace Doc, they ended up defaulting back to the Monarch. They did end up bringing some of that back for the sixth season, making it work by treating Doc as a FishOutOfWater in a Marvel-inspired New York.
** The twist of Hank and Dean being clones was planned from the beginning, but the creators originally planned to make it considerably more obvious by [[TheyKilledKennyAgain having them die multiple times in the first season]] [[UnexplainedRecovery before returning in the next episode with no acknowledgement of their demise]]. However, they couldn't find any good places to fit those deaths, especially not with the originally planned OnceAnEpisode frequency.
** The original lineup of the Guild, featured only in flashback, was planned to be very different, including the Goncourt brothers, Sar Peladin, and Rudolf Steiner--the only member in common was Aleister Crowley. Publick talked Doc Hammer into including more figures that people would actually be familiar with.
** The Monarchs were supposed to have a child together, according to the artbook, with Phantom Limb possibly being the father as well.

** A deleted scene on the season four vol disc would have shown Dr. Killinger showing up to help [[spoiler: The Revenge Society]] recapture some of that [[ForTheEvulz sweet, sweet evilness]].
*** [[spoiler:The post credits scene of "Bot Seeks Bot" shows that he actually did visit them, and has apparently been with them for a while offscreen, and his helping the Revenge Society plays a big part in "All This and Gargantua-2".]]
