** WebVideo/TheAngryGrandpa was the first copycat, and among the best known although Angry Grandpa having begun in 2007 predates the GFOE series which begun in 2009.
** WebVideo/McJuggerNuggets (Jesse Ridgway) created ''The Psycho Series'' in 2012, which started out as a copycat, before becoming a {{Deconstruction}} of the "dysfunctional family" genre, showing the main characters' life falling apart at the hands of his increasingly abusive, power-hungry, and traditionalist father, and runs the gamut of destruction, from video game consoles to mobile homes and entire structures, ending with [[spoiler:the main character shooting his father dead and fleeing to Switzerland]]. At the same time, though, he is often depicted in a sympathetic light due to his father being a [[AbusiveParents verbally-abusive]] FatBastard who rarely uses his real name and frequently calls him a "freakin' jerk" and "freakin' dingbat". Then we have the main character's mother, who is mostly known for her MotorMouth moments. Most viewers agree that the series is fake.
