* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Because of all the red tape considering copyright, no characters outside the main Sonic cast from the OVA are allowed to be used outside the anime in any Sonic media. Even if it's just a little reference such as Knuckles cowboy hat, which the Archie comics did as a little Easter Egg in one of their issues. Sega ended up chewing them out for doing so when they found out.

It doesn't feel like that at all, though. There's clear continuity with these two episodes (Episode 2 doesn't make any sense if you haven't seen Episode 1), and the transition in the "Movie" version is seamless.

** As on the main page, the OVA is actually an unsold pilot for a cancelled anime series. If this "movie" feels like [[HalfwayPlotSwitch two completely different stories back-to-back]], that's because it quite literally is.

** The soundtrack for the OVA was advertised for a retail release, but it never dropped. Most likely due to the OVA's poor sales in Japan.

* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Ever wanted to get it after 2004? New copies haven't been released since then, and it is pretty rare to find it(at least on DVD, which costs around 50 bucks, the VHS is considerably cheaper, selling at around 15 dollars).

Minor edits.

Its because of legal reasons owing to overseas copyright differences between Sega of America and Sega of Japan, not because they hate the film.

* OldShame: Sega seems to see this OVA as this, since they almost never acknowledge it exists, and as the Archie Sonic comic writers found out the hard way with issue 100, they will absolutely not allow any of the other Sonic continuities to reference it in ''any'' way, not even as an affectionate nod.
