** In the past Frank Miller has promised several new stories, including a Hartigan prequel, a Jackie Boy prequel, a story set in 1940, and a story set in the Sin City's founding during the Fold Rush. So far, the only new stories written are the ones being featured in ''Sin City 2''.

* DoingItForTheArt: Wallace is an artist who refuses to sell out dispite money problems. Dwight also had aspirations of being a photographer as opposed to a PI but they never came to be.

** It is currently unclear whether the role of Shelly will be recast because of BrittanyMurphy's untimely death, replaced with a new character or written out entirely, since she has a fairly important role. Given the trend of simply recasting parts, it seems likely a new actress will be hired.

* TheOtherDarrin: Several characters from the first Sin City movie has now been recast due to either the untimely deaths or retirements of their previous actors.

* AwesomeDearBoy: Some of the cast of ''SinCity'' signed on after seeing the test footage which would eventually become the opening scene. In the making-of it's noted that a lot of them had wanted to play FilmNoir characters for a long time, such as BruceWillis. Also, many cast members signed on due to other actors being in talks. Considering the [[AllStarCast large cast of famous faces]], this seems reasonable.

* PopularMisquote: The series is famous for its use of spot colouring and thanks to the movie is often assumed to make extensive use of it. But the first story to use it was the short story ''The Babe Wore Red'', published after the first two stories and it didn't become more common until a few years after ''that'', with ''That Yellow Bastard''. And even then, it was still used sparingly, only to draw attention to the truly important characters or items.

* TheCameo: FrankMiller himself appears as the corrupt priest Marv kills in confession.
