* CastingGag: Orochimaru is voiced here by Creator/VicMignogna instead of Creator/SteveBlum due to the show's non-union status. Before Season Two of the main series aired in the U.S., Vic was in serious consideration to play the villainous Sannin until the studio realized that location issues made it impossible. He was still acting out of Houston, Texas at the time so it would've cost him more to go back and forth between there and Los Angeles than the gig would've made.
* GodCreatedCanonForeigner: Sort of. Hanabi appears in Chapter 34, but she had never appeared post-timeskip in the original series prior, creating a problem of sorts. This was solved by Kishimoto himself creating a [[http://i.imgur.com/cc10cFk.png post-timeskip design]] for her, LampshadeHanging included. The design was reused in an anime filler made to go along with ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'', which features an older Hanabi with a different age.
* NoExportForYou: Barely avoided. Despite being a spinoff of a manga that for a time was the #1 manga in the USA, it took nearly 2 years after the anime's original run for the English dub of this series to be announced and aired stateside.

* TheOtherDarrin: The English dub is non-union (in contrast to the main series dub), so several characters had a voice actor change.
* RecursiveAdaptation: Mild example. A special chapter for Saikyo Jump was based off of Episode 5A from the anime. Which means that it was a manga chapter based on an episode of an anime adapted from a manga...

This marks the only piece of dubbed Naruto media that Maile hasn't been involved in period.

Bleach\'s anime adaptation is only taking a break because it too close to the manga and they don\'t want to have to make a bunch of filler arcs.
