* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Although the show did get a dvd release, it only contains three episodes, and is now long out of print. There also used to be uploads of this show on Website/YouTube, but they were taken down and never put back up for a long time. As of 2017, the movie at least turned up their on demand service, but so far, that's it.

** As of October 2023, the entire series is now on Youtube after someone released German airings of the remaining missing episodes that had the English audio for some reason.
* MissingEpisode: Nearly the entire show was this, at one point. For a while, due to Cartoon Network giving this show the WesternAnimation/AllenGregory treatment by removing the show from any and all streaming services, not giving it a dvd release (except for the UK, but even then, it only contained three of the show's episodes), and very few people archiving episodes of the show, only half of the show's episodes were available to watch online, while the other half could only be watched in foreign language dubs. It wasn't until as recent as 2023 that all of the show's episodes became available to watch in its original english audio, thanks to German airing of the remaining episodes.

* CreatorBacklash: While he still looks back on the show's production fondly, co-creator Adam Pava freely admits that they lacked the budget, time, experience and talent to make a good show.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: According to co-creator Adam Pava, the movie/series concept was initially conceived by Pava and Tim Mckeon when Cartoon Network wanted a live-action series that had the same humor as their animated programming. While the basis of a kid seeing the creations of a dead cartoonist due to having it's brain was still originally implied, the movie was initially supposed to have more notions and callbacks to many Disney properties and have a more animation history/satire to it. However, Cartoon Network wanted the show to be more about a normal kid and his life in both school and dealing with seeing the creations. Pava stated that Main/ExecutiveMeddling due to the networks' new leadership change as well as lack of budget, time, experience and better talent led the series to it's downfall.
** An initial idea for the series was to have focus on a racist lost cartoon in reminiscent of Disney's ''Film/SongOfTheSouth''.
** Also according to Pava, the animation style/designs Main/ArtShift was due to budget as Cartoon Network wanted to save money and use their in-house Flash animation team instead of outsourcing the animation to a venue like Creator/RenegadeAnimation.

Given how they introduced an entire block dedicated to live-action after this, this show's failure probably didn't discourage CN from airing more live-action.

Not an example of this trope.

* UnderminedByReality: The film tries to be a live action cartoon, but in doing so, a lot of the gags and deliveries fall completely flat due to not having good pacing or direction, which they might have had if it was fully animated. Not helped with the TV series, which came out nine months after the film (and appeared to have been rushed in certain areas).
** On top of that, the setup of Jimmy gaining Milt Appleday's brain can only make sense in a cartoon, as most live action films or TV shows that switch the brains of people acknowledge that, at the very least, that the person whose brain gets switched for someone else's into that someone else's body would be that person. The film tries to handwave this by saying that the doctors were at least able to save Jimmy's "personality gland." Not only is your personality not caused by a gland, which wouldn't be transferable between brains even if it ''did'' exist, since personalities are determined by life experiences, gender, and whatever else, but Milt's brain wouldn't be able to come back to life after decades of being dead in a cooler. Not only that, but the accident that led to Jimmy needing the brain transfer is so contrived, with the train hitting him, causing him to go flying rather than being ran over. Plus, the train wasn't even going that fast, so that makes no sense to have happened.
