** Was meant to have console versions for PS3 and XBox 360. But was later announced in August 2015 these were cancelled as, according to WB Games, they couldn't make a satisfactory version of it. Fans were already skeptical of the news of these releases anyway due to the rise of next-gen consoles and the fact that WB Games tried to release these versions ''after'' the next gen consoles rather then along with it as most transitional consoles tend to do. It was probably for the best as it was revealed ''High Voltage Games'' was in charge of the ports whose PC port of the game was less then well-received.

If you hack the game to make him fight Baraka, Rain, or Sindel, he even has a bullet for them. He even has a bullet specifically for every variation of Triborg: Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke. ** There is unique pre-fight dialogue for every kombination of kombatants.
* LyingCreator: When answering fan-mail during the "No-One Can Hear You Scream" Kombat Kast, [=NetherRealm=] Studios was asked about rumors that Cyber Sub-Zero would return. They [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial immediately dismissed the rumor as false]] and said that since the original Sub-Zero was a revenant there was no way he could return as a robot. [[spoiler:It turns out Cyber Sub-Zero is a secret variation of Triborg.]]

For whatever reason, neither set of characters made the cut.
