* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Due to a licensing lapse, ''LEGO Lord of the Rings'' and ''LEGO The Hobbit'' were no longer for sale on digital storefronts for a while until being re-added to Steam in April 2020.

* AllStarCast: For ''The Lego Movie Videogame'', the main principal cast -- Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman and Charlie Day -- voiced brand-new in-game dialogue, as opposed to soundalikes or source rips as in some other ''LEGO'' games.

The closest thing we can probably get would be the Avatars recreating her.

* TheOtherDarrin: Red Skull, Arnim Zola, Bucky Barnes, Pepper Potts, Ulysses Klaue, and several other characters in ''Avengers'' are voiced by different actors in order to circumvent the limitations of archive audio.

* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Apparently, the Spider-Man cast ''will not'' be in ''Lego Marvel's Avengers''. To be fair, this is probably because the game is focusing less on the comics and more on Phase 2 of the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse. Eventually averted, as Spider-Man became a free DLC character after ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'' was released.

* ActorAllusion:
** In ''Star Wars: The Complete Saga'' and ''Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures'', Creator/HarrisonFord's respective characters from each game appear as a GuestFighter in the other.
*** In ''TFA'', Creator/HarrisonFord once again does an IndyHatRoll, but with his hair piece this time. And while Han isn't in the scene in particular, the Rathtars chasing after Finn and Rey is almost an exact copy of the boulder run from ''Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk''.
** The German pilot who fights Indiana Jones in ''Raiders of the Lost Ark'' is played by the same guy who plays the guy who operates the gong in ''Temple of Doom'' (the late Pat Roach). In the LEGO version, the German pilot ''is'' the guy who operates the gong.
** In ''LEGO Indy 2'', the title character is distracted while driving through the warehouse by the sight of you-know-who frozen in carbonite.
** The "Shoot First" achievement for killing Greedo can be done with either Han or Indy.
** [[Film/TheMatrix Agent Smith]] behind [[Creator/HugoWeaving Elrond]] anyone?
** The Achievement for beating Palpatine with [[Creator/SamuelLJackson Mace Windu]] is [[Film/PulpFiction Did I Break Your Concentration?]]
** ''Marvel Super Heroes'' includes a trophy called "Don't I Know You?" for playing as [[Creator/ChrisEvans Captain America and Human Torch]] in co-op.
** In ''Marvel Super Heroes'':

** In a straighter example, in ''Beyond Gotham'' Ike Amadi voices [[VideoGame/MassEffect3 a green alien who is the last of his kind.]]
* AwesomeDearBoy: Aside from SoMyKidsCanWatch, [[http://t.co/uvUUijOk0c Stephen Amell confirmed]] that this is one reason he returned to voice Green Arrow.
* CastingGag: Roger Craig Smith reprises his role of Captain America, but also voices Human Torch. Both are played by Creator/ChrisEvans in [[Film/FantasticFour their respective]] [[Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse films franchises]]. Pairing them together gets you the achievement of "Don't I Know You?"

* FakeAmerican: The English Creator/RobinAtkinDownes voices numerous Americans, such as Firefly.
* FakeBrit:
** Ike Amadi gives Gorilla Grodd a British accent despite being American.
** The British Alfred Pennyworth was voiced by Keith Ferguson and Steve Blum (both of whom were American) for the first two ''Batman'' games. This changed in ''Beyond Gotham'' when Robin Atkin Downes took over the role.
* FandomNod: In the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" hub in ''Lego Indiana Jones 2'', we see a pig being roasted. It's not the official LEGO pig, but rather one made by [[http://www.brickforge.com/store/product.php?productid=16468&cat=304&page=1 BrickForge]].
* IKnewIt: After [[http://www.reddit.com/r/arrow/comments/27a23j/stephen_amell_to_voice_a_character_in_lego_batman/ Stephen Amell let slip that he was doing more voice work for a DC game]], many people guessed he'd be in ''LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham''. They were right.
* MilestoneCelebration: There is a DLC Pack for ''LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham'' that features different skins for Batman and some of his various supporting characters from the 75 years he's been around.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** In most games, the roles aren't done by the original actors, but ''Clone Wars'' is an exception, being one of the first games to get the cast from the source (in this case, the show) to voice for the game, they even got Creator/JamesEarlJones to do some voice clips for [[SecretCharacter Darth Vader]].
** A good chunk of the voice cast changes for ''LEGO Batman 3''.
*** Aquaman is voiced by Scott Porter, instead of Creator/BrianBloom. Similarly, Creator/BumperRobinson plays Cyborg, taking Bloom's place.
*** Creator/JoshKeaton takes over as Green Lantern and Nightwing from Creator/CamClarke and also takes over the role of ComicBook/{{Shazam}} from Creator/TravisWillingham.
*** Creator/DeeBradleyBaker takes over from Creator/TroyBaker as Braniac, and Creator/MarcWorden also takes Troy's place as Sinestro. Troy in turn takes over from Joseph Balderrama as Killer Moth, and also replaces Creator/NolanNorth as Hush.
*** Creator/LauraBailey takes over as Catwoman from Katherine Von Till.
*** Creator/RobPaulsen is replaced by Creator/RogerCraigSmith as the Riddler.
*** In ''Lego Batman 2'', Creator/SteveBlum voiced Bane, but in the third game, Creator/JBBlanc would [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOrigins reprise the role]].
** Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor is voicing Donald Gennaro in ''Jurassic Park'', while other film characters used their original voices. Different people also voice Mr. Arnold and Dennis Nedry too.

** In the first LEGO Batman, Creator/SteveBlum portrays Batman, Killer Croc (a role he would play without the Simlish in [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum two others]] [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity games]]), the Joker, Two-Face, and, of all characters, [[ButtMonkey Killer Moth]].
** Creator/JohnDiMaggio as Galactus in ''LEGO Marvel''.
* PreviewPiggybacking: ''LEGO Indiana Jones'' had a demo featured in the ''Indiana Jones'' DVD re-releases that preceded ''Kingdom of the Crystal Skull''.

* RecycledScript: LEGO Marvel seems to take a lot from the first season of ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperHeroSquadShow'': a cosmic object has broken and been scattered, so the heroes, based in the Helicarrier, must collect the pieces before Doctor Doom and his army of villains, all ending in Galactus attacking Earth and the two sides forming an EnemyMine to stop him.
* RefittedForSequel:
** ''LEGO Star Wars'' was originally planned to feature Zam Wessel and a level featuring her, and there was even a DummiedOut character model. ''[[CompilationRerelease The Complete Saga]]'' gave her a playable slot, and finally included the level that was dropped from the original game.
** Darkseid was planned to be playable in ''LEGO Batman 2'', but was dropped, with the only hints left being [[DummiedOut unusable character data]]. He was in the final batch of DLC characters in ''LEGO Batman 3''.
* RoleReprisal: In ''LEGO Marvel's Avengers'', Creator/ClarkGregg, Creator/CobieSmulders, and Creator/HayleyAtwell reprise their roles as Agent Coulson, Maria Hill, and Series/AgentCarter, respectively. And in the game's DLC levels, Michael Peña and Creator/ChloeBennet reprise their roles as Luis from ''Film/AntMan'' and Agent Daisy Johnson/Quake from ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'', respectively.

* SoMyKidsCanWatch: In [[http://t.co/uvUUijOk0c this interview]], Stephen Amell admitted that one of the main reasons for his reprising Green Arrow was so his young daughter could see something that he was in. AwesomeDearBoy factored into it too.
* SpoiledByTheMerchandise: The very first ''Star Wars'' game spoiled ''Revenge of the Sith'' as it came out about a month before the movie did. The lack of dialogue and changing of a few scenes did create a few deviations. The same thing goes for ''Pirates'', which was released a couple weeks before ''On Stranger Tides''.
* TrollingCreator: Due to fan demand for ComicBook/{{Raven}} for ''Beyond Gotham'', the official Twitter account started teasing fans about it. Firstly, they jokingly asked if she was even that popular, then pretended to confuse her for Creator/RavenSymone by tweeting "[=#RevealRavenSymone=]". Finally they agreed to reveal Ra...[[spoiler:'s Al Ghul]].
** One of the Post-Credits sequences in LEGO Batman 3 features [[http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20141115012428/lego/images/e/e2/Endcredits.png a silhouetted group shot that appear]] to be [[Creator/MarvelComics another company's]] iconic characters. [[spoiler:Only it turns out they're Black Canary, Aquaman, Nightwing, Swamp Thing, Shazam!, Booster Gold, and Green Arrow]].
* WhatCouldHaveBeen
** Some files for the original ''LEGO Star Wars'' game shows that Zam Wessel was planned to be in the game, as well as a wheelbike chase with Grievous. They brought Zam back for ''The Complete Saga'', but never used the wheelbike chase, presumably due to already having a driving segment.
** Similarly, a level where you played as Anakin against the droid battleship in a Naboo Starfighter was planned for the first game (with a piece of the post-level cinematic shown in trailers) but was scrapped, most likely because Episode 1 already had the podracing level. It was included as a bonus level in ''The Complete Saga'', redesigned to be more like that game's vehicle levels.
** Demos for ''LEGO Marvel Superheroes'' showed that the Green Goblin could turn into his [[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan Ultimate]] incarnation. They are instead separate characters in the actual game.
*** Also, Lady Deathstrike was originally going to be in the game, but was cut.
*** The box art and the mini comic for stage five suggests that Tony was originally meant to upgrade to the Mk. 7. Instead he goes to Mk. 42
*** In one interview, the designers said they had considered giving Captain America [[SuperheroPackingHeat a gun]], but they decided it would be too difficult to add with his other abilities.
** According to [[TheWikiRule Brickipedia]], the Lord of Apokolips himself, {{ComicBook/Darkseid}}, has character data that can be found by [[DummiedOut digging through the game files]] in ''LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes''. Nora Fries, the cryogenically frozen wife of Mr. Freeze, was also planned, but possibly scrapped due to lack of importance and canonically not making sense as a playable character. Darkseid is a playable character, however, in DLC for ''LEGO Batman 3''.
