* ExecutiveMeddling: ''Music from "The Elder"'' had its song order rearranged so that both sides would start with songs the record company wanted to be singles. This is why the story on the American edition makes no sense.

* ExecutiveMeddling: One of the contributing factors to ''Music from From "The Elder"'' had its song Elder"'''s failure - the track order rearranged so was meddled with by the studio to put the singles closer to the start. On any other KISS album, that both sides would start with songs might not have mattered, but on a ConceptAlbum, it made the record company wanted storyline almost impossible to be singles. This is why follow. (The correct track order was restored when the story album was reissued on the American edition makes no sense.CD.)

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: The song "Shandi" was a huge hit in Australia, and to this day the band always performs it during live performances in that country. In the United States, "Shandi" is a mostly-forgotten song and only reached 47 on the Billboard charts at the time of its release.

* CashCowFranchise: One of the most {{egregious}} examples in any medium. They have all kinds of licensed merchandise, including action figures, comic books, ''condoms'', and, last but not least, the infamous '''Kiss Kaskets''' (in one of which [[Music/{{Pantera}} Dimebag Darrell]] was buried). As of 2013, Gene and Paul now own their own arena football team in Los Angeles. The team will be named the LA Kiss and use the band's logo. In addition, purchasing a season ticket will also include access to a KISS concert.
** There's a joke that goes "Most rock bands want to be Music/TheBeatles, KISS wanted to be Coca-Cola."

** At one point in the 90s, Gene was planning to have Creator/SabanEntertainment create a ''KISS'' cartoon; but Haim Saban himself decided to insult Gene in Hebrew, for whatever reason. Gene flung it back at him, saying "[[BilingualBonus You fool! I am one of you!]]" So any chance of a ''KISS'' toon on Creator/FoxKids were dashed.

* NamesTheSame: Gene is not to be confused with the actress [[Film/{{Spartacus}} Jean]] [[Theatre/GuysAndDolls Simmons]]. Or rockabilly singer Jumpin' Gene Simmons, known for his 1960s novelty hit "Haunted House". Or mass murderer Ronald Gene Simmons, who went by his middle name.

* TheMerch: KISS is infamous for plastering their name and faces on anything they can get their hands on. They are probably the only rock band with their own line of caskets.

**** As of 2015, for Simmons and Stanley at least this might be revoked. Their animated crossover with Franchise/ScoobyDoo clearly had some callbacks to Phantom of the Park.
