* WidgetSeries: The game's ''aggressively'' Polish setting actually does help to give this game some sort of exotic appeal to the foreigners.

* DevelopmentHell: The most recent attempt at creating the direct sequel (see also WhatCouldHaveBeen below) got its crowdfunding campaign started in 2013 with 112% of the goal attained and from then the game suffered from the slow development pace due to the small development staff (including the artist from the first game reprising his role) working on the game in their spare time. Eventually Blue Sunset Games overtook the project in 2018 while keeping the artist's involvement and as of this edit ''Skinny & Franko: Fists of Vengeance'' remains in development. It did at least recently get [[https://store.steampowered.com/app/2114970/Skinny__Franko_Fists_of_Violence/ an alpha demo on Steam]] out.

** Then there were a few attempts to create a direct sequel to ''Franko'', including one for the UsefulNotes/{{GameBoy Advance}} for whose cancelation Mariusz Pawluk put the blame on Nintendo's policies on violent game policies at the time ([[VideoGame/EternalDarkness Despite]] [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil4 evidence]] [[VideoGame/{{Geist}} to the]] [[VideoGame/Killer7 contrary]]).[[labelnote:Note]]Then again, ''Franko'' was not just violent but also ''vulgar'' with things like the second boss's taunt animation, and thus it's sequel had about as much chance to show up in a Nintendo console as, say, ''VideoGame/Postal2''[[/labelnote]]

* HeyItsThatSound: The game borrows quite a number of sounds from ''VideoGame/FinalFight'' Funnily enough, ''Franko'' has more ''Final Fight'' sounds than the actual Amiga [[PortingDisaster port]] of ''Final Fight''!

Added an example. Getting Crap Past The Radar is not trivia (and probably wouldn't fit on the main page either, considering that trope's new rules or whatever). Fixed Example Indentation.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Hard to believe Franko somehow used to be even ''raunchier'' during the development but as much [[{{Bowdlerise}} as the publisher tried to cut some obscenities]], the developers were able to sneak past some things nonetheless, including one of the second boss's taunts, and the exhibitionists.
** Of special note is the scene with Franko defeating the first boss, which has Franko [[PottyHumor piss on the opponent]]. Mirage wanted that scene to be cut, and while the developers were about to do it, they've implemented a cheat code that would restore said sequence..... and made the aforementioned cheat mode enabled by default just before submitting the game.

''VideoGame/FinalFight'' Funnily enough, ''Franko'' has more Final Fight ''Final Fight'' sounds than the actual Amiga [[PortingDisaster port]] of ''Final Fight''!Fight''!
* MultiDiscWork: The game comes on three disks, but the credits state that if everything planned was implemented, there would have been twelve disks.

*StartMyOwn: Mariusz Pawluk - the game's artist and primary idea man - was a big enthusiast for beat 'em ups and wanted to do one for the Amiga after how a number of [[PortingDisaster not very well made ports of contemporary games]] left him cold.
*TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment: Development on the game was started in 1992 and actually mostly completed later that year, but it took World Software 2 years to find a publisher. They were polishing the game in meantime.
*WidgetSeries: The game's ''aggressively'' Polish setting actually does help to give this game some sort of exotic appeal to the foreigners.
*WhatCouldHaveBeen: The game's credits state that the game's scope used to be much larger, to the point it would have come out in ''12 disks'' if nothing was cut.
** ''Franko'' was going to have a 2-player co-op mode but it was omitted by the programmer who had enough trying to rewrite the code for more features.
