Misuse and Mix And Match is now a disambig.

* MixAndMatch: A recurring gimmick seen in extra releases is figures with swappable limbs, either with pegs or magnets. The Titanium toyline was also promoted as such in some countries, while the Morphogenesis line is focused entirely on the gimmick, alongside with the ability of combining characters into larger ones.

** While most of the Legends redesigns are faithful to the original ones, a few stand out for their differences: Gheos lacks his traditional head protrusions and instead has a helmet that makes him look like a humanoid rhinoceros, Tasarau has only two arms instead of four and the Forest Guardian Troncalion is slimmer and looks more like a goat[=/=}deer hybrid instead of the buffalo-like design of the old times.

* CollectibleCardGame: Three were released early on. The first one (''Battle Cards'') covered the first two series and their recolor upgrades (plus a bunch of Series 3 characters released as promos with books), the second one (''Metallcards'') focused on the Mythos and Energheia lines (with variations featuring Series 1, Series 2 and Atomic being released in Greece and Spain) and the third one (''Transparent Plasticards'') was based entirely on Final Evolution (plus a promo set based on The Lords of Nature Return! released as a freebie with Nesquik boxes). Another one came out only in France and was based on the cartoon series.

** The original Series 1 lore never mentioned Magor as a character. Magmion was claimed to be the main BigBad of the franchise instead. Magor was properly introduced in Series 2 and a comic remake of the Series 1 backstory was released to retcon him in the plot.

* PutOnABus: The Air tribe is completely missing from the Legends reboot.

* CombiningMecha: While not mechs, the Morphogenesis Gorgolems work exactly like that, combining together multiple characters to make a larger one.

** Another take was the Megagorm, a set of action figures released during Neorganic (and later rereleased in different colors during Luxion) which consisted of Lucas, Toby, Roscalion and Troncalion combining into a [[Film/{{Aliens}} power loader]]-like mech with Luminos's head piloted by Nick.

* Ambiguous Robots: Series 2 has Dragon, a dragonfly-like Gormite from the Air Tribe. His design is more angular and robotic than any other character in the line (outside of some Evil Gormiti from the Luxion series), the promotional shorts have him talk in RoboSpeak and his bio claims that nobody knows if he's actually made of flesh or metal.

* BodyOfBodies: A few Sea Gormiti, like Series 2's Multiplop or Series 3's Nobilmantis, are referred to be formed of multiple sea creatures with a single hivemind (the latter is clearly formed by five squids in a human-like shape, while the second haves a manta ray on his back and an electric eel on his right arm).

** The promotional short for Series 1 also haves its weirdness: while all the subsequent promotional shorts were made entirely in CGI, the first one used it only for a few establishing shots while using limited 2D animation for the most of the time (including promotional artwork edited with animated mouths and red lights over the eyes).

** The franchise had for years a "secret value" gimmick where every character haves a random value between 1 and 9 under its left foot that boosts the regular power level on the card, but for some reason a commercial for the first series implied that the complete collection required to own ''nine copies'' of each character, one for each value.

* AnachronismStew: The franchise has a tribal setting with basically no tecnology, but in the ''Legends'' shorts a few modern items appear, such as a DJ console or the Old Sage mentioning he takes cholesterol pills.

* CallAPegasusAHippogriff: The Ancient Guardian of Air is named Fenision, also known as "The cruel phoenix". He's actually a griffin.

* OneSteveLimit: Subverted twice. Two different Air Gormiti were called Dragon (in Series 2 and Series 3), while the name Quercus was used twice for Forest Gormiti.

* TournamentArc: The Series 2 promotional short, ''The Great Eclipse'', narrates a tournament where the strongest member of each Gormiti tribe fights against the others to decide who ultimately will rule on Gorm.

Added DiffLines:

* TheBusCameBack:
** ''The Lords of Nature Return!'' had ten characters from Series 2 (Bullrock, Rockthrower, Trunkcannon, Sporius, Ancient Turtle, Cavarex, Falcon Silent, Dragon, Deepdownfear and Bombos) making their first appearances since 2006.
** ''Supreme Eclipse'' had Diamantes making his first appearance since 2006, plus Armageddon, Luminos and Obscurio came back after ''Final Evolution''.
** After two reboots changing completely the cast, ''Legends'' finally had the return of many classic characters which weren't seen since 2008 (except for Magmion who kept having new toys for three more years).

Added DiffLines:

* LighterAndSofter: The main plot of the ''Legends'' reboot lacks the big war elements of the original series and instead is filled with slapstick gags and ''Series/TakeshisCastle''-styled trials.

** Series 1 designs are very different from what came afterwards, as a remnant of when the line was supposed to be Series 4 of the already extabilished ''Exogini'' franchise, which was already [[CutAndPasteTranslation a bunch of foreign toylines Gig imported and treated as multiple installments of the same series]]: in fact, the lords have bulky proportions and seem to wear trunks as to blend together with the designs and wrestling theme of the ''Manga/{{Kinnikuman}}'' ''keshigomu'' figures that were released as ''Exogini'' series 1, while the skinny frames of the other characters and the "random number under the foot" fighting gimmick are taken straight from ''Fistful of Aliens'' (which was released as Series 3 of ''Exogini'').
