* After he captures Spider-man, Doc Ock delivers him to Harry. Harry prepares to slay his helpless victim with pure hatred and bloodlust in his eyes, but when he removes the mask and sees who's underneath, he drops the dagger in shock, even gasping "no" in shock. It shows that, while Harry may not be the greatest friend (he ''did'' angrily berate Peter for sticking up for Spider-man, after all), deep down, he does still care for Peter.

Then she breaks down, apologizing for yelling at Peter, and says it's been really hard since she lost her husband.

* Earlier, Peter wakes Aunt May up from a nap, and before she raises her head and realizes what's going on, she asks Ben what he wants.
** Right after that, Peter noticed some bills spread around the table, May tells her its nothing to be concern about. Then she gives Peter some money as a birthday gift. Peter was about to politely declined when May suddenly raised her voice, telling her to just take it even though it's all she can offer him. Then she breaks down, apologizing for yelling at him. She says it's been really hard since they lost Ben.

* Peter daydreaming that he's talking to Uncle Ben, trapped in the memory of their conversation just before they go their separate ways prior to the wrestling match in the first film. When Peter tells Ben that he's retiring as Spider-Man, Ben looks so defeated and heartbroken. You can tell he's not only crushed that he feels he's died for nothing, but he's sad for his surrogate son, too.

* John Jameson, in contrast to his [[JerkAss father]], is a pretty down-to-Earth NiceGuy who seems genuinely supportive of MJ throughout their marriage. Though he's technically Peter's romantic rival, and thus we're rooting against him, it's still a bummer that this perfectly innocent guy got dumped, and with a note at the altar, no less.

* Following the climax, [[spoiler:Peter, with his identity now having been exposed to Mary Jane, sits up with her in a huge spider web and tells her the true reason why they can't be together, while expressing a sense of both melancholy and relief now that he doesn't have to hide anything from her. * When Peter returns home with Aunt May after visiting Uncle Ben's grave, he finally decides to confess to Aunt May his involvement in Uncle Ben's death, and how he was with Ben in his final moments.
