Not only does Kii-chan find out that everything Tomoko has told her was a lie, but Tomoko tries to win the affection of Kii-chan back by winning a trading card game. Not only would this not have worked anyway, but Tomoko cheated to win and Kii-chan saw it, breaking the pedestal even further.

* Chapter 189 in general. Minami's HeelRealization has fully started to hit her by this point as she's being mercilessly picked on by Nori and Maki for hanging out with otakus which causes to inadvertantly lash out by making fun of Maki's boyfriend before realizing what she's done. Sachi, who's realized that Minami's pretty much drifted away from her for good, uses the opportunity to jump in and intentionally destroy the group while explaining that she's always hated Nori and Maki but was glad to have one last laugh with Minami (the one member of their friend group she actually liked) before leaving her and seeming to accept that their friendship is likely over. Minami can really do nothing but sit there in stunned, despondent silence before Yuu (who'd been studying nearby with Miho and Fuuka) comes over to ask if she's okay while Minami can only conclude that she'd never get it because she's probably a good person unlike her or her friends.

* In an omake that gives a WhatIf scenario where Tomoko becomes part of the popular group with Asuka. It's a BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor moment where Tomoko manage to get the popularity she was craving for before with lots of attention and multiple guys hitting on her in a daily basis. Ultimately Tomoko isn't happy at all since she doesn't actually enjoy being constantly asked out by random boys or not being herself at school, she only feels happy when doing her otaku interest at home which parallels Yuu's heavily implied issues in the canon.

** Asuka's scene, though brief, leaves a particularly strong impression. The first thing we see of her, she's sitting at a table holding a teacup, but looking spaced out and bored. Then, when Fuka asks her if Tomoko groped her, Asuka becomes oddly irritated, and tells Fuka to not ask about it so openly, despite Asuka herself offering Tomoko the opportunity in front of Fuka.

** Worse, her behavior towards Tomoko after. She treats Tomoko like a pitiful little puppy and dresses her up, makes her wait somewhere in hopes of getting Tomok picked up. While she means well, it definitely goes from CringeComedy to sad how Kii-chan sees Tomoko as... a dog. Poor Tomoko.

* Tomoko crying herself to sleep because she's so "[[BlatantLies happy]]" is already sad enough, but her brother's complete and utter lack of empathy for her in the next room really drives it home. She's alone even in her own home.

* The end of Chapter 152. Where do we even begin?
** On Tomoko's side, she was basically called a ''creep'' by someone who she was trying to be ''nice'' to, and in public at that, which is probably one of the worse things that could happen to someone that has low self-esteem. What makes this all worse is how Tomoko ''didn't'' have to be nice to Ucchi in the first place.
** While most of this was Ucchi's fault for not being honest with herself, still being called an "emoji-face" (snide nicknames for people you're not personally close to is considered very rude in Japanese culture), and ''then'' having the person she has a crush on run out on her in anger has got to sting. Ouch.

* The graduation ceremony Tomoko attends in her second year starts out heartwarming enough. Tomoko is able to bid farewell to [[StudentCouncilPresident Megumi Imae]], the two finally get to properly introduce themselves to each other, and the senior gives her junior another hug. It turns into a tearjerker when Tomoko realizes that Megumi was the mascot who hugged her all the way back in the cultural festival, and now that they're both parting ways, Tomoko will never get the chance to return the small acts of kindness Megumi gave her. We don't see her face, but it's abundantly clear she's tearing up.

A WhatIf omake makes it even worse by having her proposal approved by the school council, and then showing Tomoko one year later: sitting uncomfortably in the corner of her own club while other club members are having fun together, too shy and awkward to strike up a conversation with them or agree to their invitation to lunch, and regretting starting the club in the first place. Either way, she can't win.
