* "Dead" at first seems to be singing about how joyful dying is (which helped fuel the 'they encourage suicide' claims by the Daily Mail and the like). Then you realize the song is sarcastic; The Patient knows they're dying, and they're venting their frustrations out one last time. It really becomes clear towards the end.

Then why am I laughing?\\
[[PunctuatedForEmphasis If. Life. Ain't. Just. A joke.]]\\
Then why am I dead?\\

** From their last project "Conventional Weapons" in the third round "The world is ugly". It's not particulary depressing, but... it strikes a chord and leaves me bawling. Ugly bawling. This AND the fact I never get to see them live.

** "The Light Behind Your Eyes" can double as a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming when you realize Gerard wrote it for his daughter.

* "The Kids From Yesterday" - if you've read a certain scene from [[MyImmortal "My Immortal"]].

* "Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back"

Added DiffLines:

* This list is not complete without the sixth track from the Conventional Weapons series: "The Light Behind Your Eyes". It's a very slow and subdued song, almost like the band's answer to the SimplePlan tearjerker "Untitled". And when the intensity rises, you can the band isn't screaming the words out; they're ''crying'' them out.

--> "When you go, just know that I will remember you
If living is the hardest part, we'll then one day be together
And in the end we'll fall apart, just like the leaves change in colors

* There's something weirdly heartbreaking about the end of "It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Deathwish."
--> "When you go, just know that I will remember you
If living is the hardest part, we'll then one day be together
And in the end we'll fall apart, just like the leaves change in colors
I will be there with you, I will be there one last time now..."

* "Famous Last Words" also, and "Cancer" to most fans is this.

* That untitled track from 'The Black Parade Is Dead!' never did surface on an album.
*

** Even worse, Monday 17th February saw the last My Chemical Romance song, 'Fake Your Death', released. The song is a slow, piano-driven ballad that will OPEN the Greatest Hits album, so it comes across as very reflective as looking back is the only option now that the band is over. The fact that it's been released with a trailer featuring clips from the bands videos in a meaningful way doesn't help. "I choose defeat, I'll walk away." is perhaps the most heart-breaking part.
