In ''Half-Blood Prince'' when Slughorn [[spoiler: finally gives Harry his memory.]] His sad declaration that he's not proud of what he did and the way he tremulously asks Harry not to think too badly of him after he sees it touchingly and completely removes all ill will we might feel towards the poor guy.

** This troper loses it every single time at "Stay close to me." 'Nuff said.

* After a decade or so hating Snape, this Troper found his story in the Deathly Hallows absolutely heartbreaking. Even the beginning, with him being reasonably happy with Lily as a friend. Just seeing ''why'' he hated Harry and how much he'd gone through as well...*sniff* [[AVeryPotterMusical AVPS just makes it worse]].
** I say with not an ounce of drama that The Prince's Tale is one of the most beautiful moments in modern book history.
* "''[[spoiler: Albus Severus Potter]], you are named after two Hogwarts headmasters. One of them was a [[spoiler: Slytherin,]] and probably the bravest man I ever knew.''" After holding back for three hundred pages, [[Tropers/CosmicEgg this troper]] was completely overcome by ManlyTears.

* ''{{Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows}}'', has this in bucketloads, including, but not limited to: [[spoiler:Dobby's death and funeral]], [[spoiler:Fred Weasley's death]], the [[spoiler: Resurrection Stone scene, where Harry's parents, Sirius and Lupin appear to escort Harry to his almost certain death]], [[spoiler:Colin Creevey, "tiny in death"]], Dumbledore's past, especially when [[spoiler: Dumbledore cries when recalling it to Harry]], the scene where [[spoiler:Harry visits his parents' graves in Godric's Hollow]], [[spoiler: "wishing he were sleeping under the snow with them"]], and the entire chapter, [[spoiler: ''The Prince's Tale'']].

** Honest-to-God, this Trooper considers [[spoiler:Hedwig's death]] to be the worst one in the entire book. It was so unexpected and unnessisary, which makes it all the more worse for this trooper.

** What about [[spoiler:Ron and Harry's fight? You knew Ron was coming back, but I was still sobbing "He actually LEFT!"]]

** This troper managed to keep it together through Deathly Hollows until [[spoiler: Harry sees Lupin's and Tonks's bodies.]] Then she bawled like a baby through the rest of the book.
** This troper has never made it through the one-two punch of [[spoiler: "The Prince's Tale" and "The Forest Again"]] without sobbing, no matter how many times she rereads it.

*** This Troper [[BigNo couldn't]] [[FiveStagesOfGrief believe]] [[HeroicBSOD it]] and was in denial until the series ended.

** Alice Longbottom, anyone?

** Just realizing that Harry won't be with Sirius in the end of Prisoner of Azkaban, made worse in Order of the Phoenix.
** Perhaps it's that the words have personal significance to me, but at the end of Order of the Phoenix when Luna is telling Harry why she can see Thestrals, due to seeing her mum die, but that she's "still got Dad" and her belief that she'll see her again always gets me.
**** Which brings us to another ''Deathly Hallows'' moment: [[spoiler:Harry stumbling into Luna's room and seeing a mural painted on the ceiling of Harry and all of Luna's other friends from Hogwarts, linked by a golden chain made of the word "friends" repeated over and over again.]]
** Likewise, when Harry realizes that Ron and Hermione can see the Thestrals now.
** Dumbledore throughout all of the scene in the cave. [[spoiler: Kill me!]]
*** It's even worse when you reread it after ''Deathly Hallows'', and know exactly what he's remembering.
*** Harry telling [[spoiler:his son who he was named for.]]
* When Harry sees Dumbledore's body on the grass next to the tower in Half-Blood Prince. It was bad enough seeing that [[spoiler: Snape]] actually killed Dumbeldore, but the fight scene distracts you from that until Harry pushes through the crowd around Dumbledore's body. Then there's the bit with the fake locket...* sniff*

* When Harry finds a letter his mom wrote to Sirius (in ''Deathly Hallows''). * sniff*

* It might be {{narm}} for some, but this troper can't be the only one affected by Harry flipping out at Dumbledore after[[spoiler: Sirius']] death in ''Order of the Phoenix''
