The whole Keisei arc was a huge TearJerker from the promise between Suzuran and Jiiya to the painful helplessness of Gintoki's past to watching the antagonists dirty his teacher's name to ending on one giant hell of a TearJerker bittersweet ending as a decades old promise is fulfilled. Sorachi you wonderful, horrible, sadistic bastard.

* We finally get to see [[spoiler:Shouyou Yoshida's face]]. Under the horrible circumstances that Gintoki, [[spoiler:as a child watches Shouyou-sensei being taken away helplessly by the Tensho.]]

* Kagura's fight against Abuto during the Yoshiwara Arc. For This Tropette, it becomes total {{Fridge Sadness}}, since my headcanon is that [[spoiler: '''Abuto is Kagura's uncle''']], since they're both Yatos. In retrospect, Kagura's really fighting to the death [[spoiler: against one of her own family members '''and''' she's fighting with the knowledge that she could kill a family member]].

** This Troper, who normally is laughing very hard whenever she watches this anime, had tears in her eyes when she saw that episode. She also thought that Kagura's fight against Abuto during the Yoshiwara Arc was very heartwrenching.

The old man dies as soon as he sees his last friend, the dog, die first after their race (while both are dying) so that he won't be left alone.]]

Of course, as soon as Gin-chan manages to convince him otherwise, he is fatally shot.

Followed by a brilliantly done fight between him and Gin.]]

** Oh God, the Mitsuba arc... This Troper was close to bawling like a baby. Seeing Okita, who is normally a [[DeadpanSnarker deadpan snarking]] [[Jerkass sadist]] [[spoiler:break down and cry as his sister's hand falls from his face...]] *bawls*

* Episode 87 when[[spoiler: Sougo's sister dies and he starts crying.]]
