** At one point, Summer holds up a drawing Tiny Rick made with a crudely drawn Rick and the caption "HELP ME SUMMER AND MORTY." Some may notice the poorly drawn Rick looks exactly like Doc from ''Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti'', the short Rick and Morty is based on.

* The "Council of Ricks" is an homage to ''Comics/FantasticFour'''s Council of Reeds, a society composed entirely of evil alternate universe versions of Reed Richards.

** Rick refers to Morty and Summer as his "Hellsings" when going vampire hunting.

** Morty decides to become the leader of the tree people, who [[{{Film/Avatar}} all live beneath a giant glowing blue world tree which is the source of all life on their planet.]] This could also double as a {{Take That}} of the movie along with the {{Noble Savage}} trope since right after reaching the spirit tree Morty begs Rick to get them out of the wilds, calling the tree people backwards savages and deploring their lifesyle before saying how much he misses his life on Earth.

* "In "Rick Potion #9":
** A box on Rick's shelf is marked [[Franchise/BackToTheFuture "Time Travel Stuff"]].

* The Time Cop in "A Rickle In Time" is similar in design to the titular creatures from TheLangoliers (with the addition of arms). Fitting, as TheLangoliers is also about a dangerous aspect of time, namely "where does the past disappear to"?

* Lucy from "Ricksy Business" attaches herself to the bottom of Jerry's car shouting, "Haha! Film/CapeFear! I'm doing [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Cape Fear]]!" just before [[RealityEnsues she falls off and gets run over]].
