** In the intro, brfore the origin stories start, there is a reference to the CMC summoning a "winged squid creature" while trying to be witches. The context seems to imply it was [[CthulhuMythos Cthulhu]].

* In ''FanFic/ADarkKnightOverSinCity'', when [[SinCity Dwight]] first sees Franchise/{{Batman}}, he says, [[ComicBook/AllStarBatmanAndRobinTheBoyWonder "It's the goddamn Batman."]]

** Aaron's Empoleon and May's Wartortle reference ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' and ''Film/HappyFeet'' while insulting each other.

** Seriously, ''DO NOT'' play the TVTropesDrinkingGame if you plan on including all the {{ShoutOut}}s in this thing. It'll be very, ''very'' bad for your health.

* ''TurnaboutSubstitution'': Quite a few, including to ''Anime/DragonBallZ'', ''VideoGame/ZeroWing'' and ''{{VideoGame/Super Mario Bros|1}}''.

** The scene of the Grand Ruler dancing and doing hopscotch is inspired by a sketch from ''TodaysSpecial''.

** Most of the songs were lifted from other sources, including TodaysSpecial and Series/ShiningTimeStation. He does cite where they came from, narrowly avoiding UsefulNotes/{{Plagiarism}}.

* ''' EVERYTHING''' in the Series/DoctorWho webcomic SecondEmpire.

** Nurse Crystal is an OC of SpaceBattles/[=FIMFiction=] user Tangent, who provided the name of the story.

** The video recording during the beginning of episode 74 is a direct parody of the "Ezekiel 25:17" scene from ''PulpFiction''.

* Frequent in ''Fanfic/MyBravePonyStarfleetMagic'', to the point of {{plagiarism}}.

** Most of the songs were lifted from other sources, including TodaysSpecial and Series/ShiningTimeStation. He does cite where they came from, narrowly avoiding {{Plagiarism}}.

* ''Webcomic/KristophGavinAceAttorney'': Several of the individual comic's titles, such as ''[[MCHammer Hammer Time!]]'', ''[[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons The J Stands For "Jay"]]'' and ''[[{{VideoGame/Portal}} Still Alive]]''.

* In Ringshadow's SliceOfLife VideoGame/StarFox fanfic [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2664412/1 Butterfly Photographs]], Slippy programmed an AI into his pickup truck which has the ability to drive it. Its avatar is a face on a video screen, and its name is [[MaxHeadroom Max]]. At one point a character asks if Max is in one of the stages of [[{{Creator/Bungie}} rampancy]] in reaction to Max's slightly odd behaviour.

** Ranma's ring tone for his girlfriend Clover, is "Light your Heart Up" which is the theme song for Makonshoku Mako of ''Anime/{{Kill La Kill}}.
** The night Ranma and Samantha went all the way is the same night an amateur juggler broke into a mad scientist's lab and started dropping vials of Chronitons ''Western Animation/{{Futurama}}'', which is why the pair had very brief moments of clarity during their lose of control over their hormones.

* ''FanFic/MidnightGreen'': During Midnight's DynamicEntry into Ponyville, he screams "[[WorldOfWarcraft LEEEEROOOOOOOOOY]] [[Machinima/LeeroyJenkinsVideo JEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINS!!!!!]]"

* ''FanFic/DeathIsForcedToTakeAVacation'':
** Helheim, the Lady of Death in this dimension, is named for the region where the dishonorable dead (meaning those who didn't die in battle) go in Norse mythology. Related to this, one of her other Reapers is named Nidhogg, after the creature that gnaws on the world tree Yggdrasil.
** In chapter 2, Fall Harvest reveals his knowledge of Earth pony magic applied to farming; his information, including the consequences of letting things grow too fast, are based in part on Applejack's own knowledge in ''FanFic/ProjectSunflower''.
** Fall Harvest’s bit about grinding up someone and putting them through the finest sieve references a similar line in ''Discworld/{{Hogfather}}''.
** Fall Harvest remembers, to himself, a story from another adjunct of Death from another dimension who was waiting for a soul to realize they were dead; their story is the events of the ''Series/TheTwilightZone1959'' episode "The Hitch-Hiker".
** In chapter 4, Fall Harvest is an Adjunct of Death, currently hiding his identity, who says that "I'm just a guy on vacation." A mortal who's mistakenly believed to be [[TheGrimReaper Death]], or at least the inspiration for him, says the exact same thing on a regular basis in ''FanFic/MakeAWish''.
** Also in chapter 4, Fall Harvest paraphrases the last lines of the last strip from ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes''. Helheim promptly lampshades it.
** Chapter 5 mentions how a speedster ran to the end of the universe, pursued by their Death (or at least one of the Deaths of that universe); having literally reached the end of their universe, that Death ceased to be. These events take place in ''Franchise/TheFlash'' Vol 2 #141, when Wally West ran to the end of the universe and back to escape the Black Flash.

** During the aforementioned scene in chapter 11, Spliced refers to one of her classmates as “a gasbag of ego”. The same phrase was used by an annoyed character to describe one of her squadron mates in ''[[ComicBook/XWingSeries Star Wars: X-Wing - Solo Command]]''.
