*** Interestingly, both Genis and Raine cool off on the ship once the Tethe'alla half of the plot starts, Genis because he has his own (utterly unrequired) crush on Presea to focus on and Raine because she seems to push for the ship because she knew [[spoiler:Colette was going to die when she regenerated the world, so it might have been a case of LetThemDieHappy]]. There's also the fact [[StudentTeacherRomance Lloyd/Raine is a possible ship]] later on.

** In the DLC chapter ''Before Awakening'', [[Tsundere Selena]] tries to ship her mom with Chrom. Sadly, in ''Awakening'' this is impossible.

* In ''VideoGame/MassEffect2'', Yeoman Kelly Chambers will immediately suggest [[InterspeciesRomance Female!Shepard/Garrus or Male!Shepard/Tali]] the moment said party members join. Notable in that Chambers herself is a romance option for either gender. She also tells you exactly how to romance Jack if you want the real thing (i.e. don't go for sex the first time Jack asks).

** According to Kasumi, most of the crew are shippers when it comes to Fem!Shep/Garrus, commenting "A lot of people want to see you together." when you romance him. This is also a [[LampshadeHanging Lampshade]] on [[FanPreferredCouple their wild popularity]] in the fandom.

Kyo's sort-of pupil Shingo Yabuki also is pretty partial to it, and so are Kyo's HappilyMarried parents Saisyu and Shizuka who already treat Yuki as if she was their official daughter-in-law. * Just about everyone is shipping Squall and Rinoa in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'', especially Selphie. This includes people who are supposed to fancy one or the other themselves. Meanwhile, the child Ellone does this a lot for [[{{Adorkable}} Laguna]]/[[CoolBigSis Raine]].

** [[spoiler: Hubert, Edelgard's NumberTwo and BattleButler, initially serves as an anti-ship between Byleth and Edelgard, to the point of [[MurderTheHypotenuse outright considering murdering Byleth directly in front of them over how close they're getting to Edelgard.]] However, it is clear he is doing this because he fears you turning against her or otherwise derailing her morally dubious ambitions [[ProperlyParanoid (which considering every other route he has a]] ''[[ProperlyParanoid very good reason]]'' [[ProperlyParanoid to not trust you)]], and on Crimson Flower (where you side with her), he completely ditches this behavior, becomes oddly friendly and affable with Byleth, ceases to make a fuss about Byleth and Edelgard's closeness, and even hands you Edelgard's favorite items for completing rather simple tasks, the intent seeming to have you give them to her and grow closer. His role as this becomes clear considering he himself loves Edelgard, but [[IJustWantMyBelovedToBeHappy knows he cannot provide her the emotional support Byleth does,]] and so several times outright ''begs'' Byleth to stay by her side and make her happy. Considering [[AssassinOutclassin the]] [[TallDarkAndSnarky kind]] [[ViolentlyProtectiveBoyfriend of]] [[TheFixer guy]] [[PoisonousFriend Hubert]] [[MurderIstheBestSolution is]]... that says something]]

** ''Awakening'' has one very odd version of it thrown in. Apparently [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Manaketes]] can commune with their god, [[PhysicalGod Naga]], simply by praying to them. The entirety of the support between [[HalfHumanHybrid Nah]] and [[MommasBoy a male!Morgan]] is Naga subtly working to hook them up. [[spoiler:And in the S one, Nah says that Naga apparently told her that she and Morgan should "{{get a room}}."]] (Then again, [[BreakTheCutie both kids have had]] ''[[OrphansOrdeal very]]'' [[OrphansOrdeal harsh early lives]], so...)

* In ''VideoGame/TheLongestJourney'', Charlie has a crush on April who is ObliviousToLove. Emma tries to help the cause, without much success.

She tells Link not to give up. This pays off as the memory that follows after this has Link rescue Zelda from attackers, [[RescueRomance causing her to treat him with more kindness and respect]]. Urbosa makes subtle hints at her approval of the two's bond [[spoiler:even after death]].

* Many people who originally tried to hook [[HotBlooded Akira]] up with [[GenkiGirl Mika]] suddenly switch to Akira trying to get along with [[TheQuietOne Atsuki]]. Akira's ''father'' of all people has a more noticeable switch in the last chapter of the game when he mentions that all his son talks about is Atsuki and how if Atsuki plans on leaving, he should come back because he's welcome. Note that this is what he said to Mika earlier in the game and while it still applies he's referring to the fact that Mika is like the daughter he never had.

* In ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil6'':

* In ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}'', Rise ships Kanji/Naoto. The main character also has the option to approve of this pairing. She also ships Yosuke/Chie, which creates a hilarious [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend he's not my boyfriend]] moment. It should be noticed that Rise also ships herself with the protagonist, very overtly; it's possible she both tries to [[ShipperWithAnAgenda weed out competition]] ''and'' thinks the other pairings are cute. As for the remaining pairing, Yukiko/Teddie, Rise doesn't particularly ''encourage'' it, likely because she knows no girl would ever want a romance with [[CasanovaWannabe Teddie]], but she will pair them off if it nets her alone time with the protagonist.

* ''VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth'': [[CloudCuckoolander Yukiko]], as it turns out, ships [[CrackPairing Kanji/Rise]]. This is despite Rise's obvious feelings for the P4 Hero and Kanji's crush on Naoto. And the player can make the P4 Hero ''agree'' with her. Rise later expresses confusion as to why Yukiko keeps telling her about Kanji's good points.
* ''VideoGame/{{Persona 5}}'': Sojiro Sakura actively encourages the main character to find a girlfriend and openly supports his efforts. It's most noticeable on Valentine's Day, where Sojiro will close the shop early so the protagonist and his companion of choice can have a romantic date alone. Of course, [[OverprotectiveDad he's not fully comfortable with the protagonist dating his daughter, Futaba]], warning him to not "try anything funny" before closing the shop for them.

* In ''[[VideoGame/CastlevaniaChroniclesOfSorrow Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow]]'', most of Soma's friends will tease him about Mina, with [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend flustered reactions from both]]. Julius, however, is completely, absolutely, sincerely dead serious about wanting them to find happiness together. [[spoiler: Given that he's a Belmont, Julius probably knows too well that Dracula's evil began (twice) with losing his love, and doesn't want Soma to go down the same road.]]
* There are hints that Trish from ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' is this towards Dante and Lady, stating in the [[Anime/DevilMayCryTheAnimatedSeries anime's]] [[https://www.reddit.com/r/DevilMayCry/comments/9ebek9/english_summary_of_devil_may_cry_audio_drama_vol_1/ Audio Drama]] that Lady is [[CannotSpitItOut “clumsy”]] regarding her interactions with Dante, who in turn she calls [[ObliviousToLove “dense”]]. This starts from the moment she starts talking with Lady, implying that Lady [[GreenEyedMonster is jealous of her partnership with Dante.]] However, considering this is [[TheGadfly Trish,]] she may have just been [[{{Troll}} trying to get a rise out of Lady.]]

Of course, since he's the only Cosmos Warrior in the game who is [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIVTheAfterYears canonically married]], and from a medieval-style setting (in which the knightly concept of {{courtly love}} would have been in full effect), it really only makes sense that he'd act this way.

* In Sephiroth's storyline in ''VideoGame/MobiusFinalFantasy'', Echo seems to have abandoned her crush on Cloud in favour of teasing Wol about his interest in him, suggesting Wol ask him on a date. Wol says he doesn't think Cloud would be interested because he "[[FoeYay only has eyes for Sephiroth]]".

Though they will [[GameplayAndStorySegregation deny ever setting anyone up before]] when Cherche asks them to help find a mate for her Wyvern, Minerva.

Kyo's sort-of pupil Shingo Yabuki also is pretty partial to it, and so are Kyo's HappilyMarried parents Saisyu and Shizuka who already treat Yuki as if she was their official daughter-in-law. [[spoiler:Chizuru is GenreSavvy enough to ''exploit'' Kyo and Yuki's bonds in the game, asking Yuki to lay low and using her sudden absence as a SecretTestOfCharacter destined to see if Kyo can protect his love ones... and this is ''before'' she finds out that Yuki is a BarrierMaiden whose safety should be entrusted to Kyo, so she won't be sujected to HumanSacrifice to empower {{Orochi}}.]]

[[NiceGuy Ryo]] / [[BrokenAce Hibiki]] [[HoYay is shipped]] the most by [[YaoiFangirl Suzu]], [[TheHero Atsuki]] (although rather reluctantly due to Suzu literally annoying him to get an answer about the two) and [[EveryoneCanSeeIt technically the whole school]] if Mika's dialogue has anything to say to it.
** Many people who originally tried to hook [[HotBlooded Akira]] up with [[GenkiGirl Mika]] suddenly switch to Akira trying to get along with [[TheQuietOne Atsuki]]. Akira's ''father'' of all people has a more noticeable switch in the last chapter of the game when he mentions that all his son talks about is Atsuki and how if Atsuki plans on leaving, he should come back because he's welcome. Note that this is what he said to Mika earlier in the game and while it still applies he's referring to the fact that Mika is like the daughter he never had.
*** Then there's [[CheerfulChild Nami]] who, despite shipping herself with Atsuki, has dropped a lot of hints concerning why Atsuki constantly chooses Sweet Ring (the restaurant Akira's father owns and where Akira works) to eat out whenever he takes his friends out. Shortly after she says that, Akira shows up and her sprite has this funny smile on her face.
*** A minor character in Episode 19, [[CampGay Shunichi]], stops searching for his friend to talk to Atsuki. While the original conversation was about his friend [[KnowledgeBroker Kyosuke]] having a girlfriend (which he assumes is Mika), he suddenly asks about Atsuki's preference. The correct answer is saying that Atsuki isn't interested in dating (girls) and Shunichi suddenly assumes that Atsuki likes Akira (and the player is assuming that Atsuki denies it with how quickly the conversation changes).

[[AC: Mass Effect]]

* There's an ''advertisement on the Citadel'' that ships Shepard with... whichever potential love interest (if any) is in your party when you click on it. ("The next time ''you're'' out on the town with [Officer Vakarian/Sere Krios/Mr. Taylor/Miss Zorah/Miss Lawson/ERROR: CITIZEN ID NOT FOUND[[note]](Jack, in case you were wondering)[[/note]]...") It'll even mention Justicar Samara, who isn't actually fully romanceable. Alternately, if you're in a relationship with one of the [=ME1=] squadmates and there's nobody romanceable in your current party, it'll mention that love interest instead.

* ''VideoGame/{{Persona 3}} [[UpdatedRerelease Portable]]'' has a minor example: [[TheLancer Junpei]] tells the [[DistaffCounterpart Female Protagonist]] that he thinks it would be funny if she and [[TheBigGuy Akihiko]] got together and that [[PlatonicLifePartners he'd totally be her wingman if she decided to go for it]].
* In ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}'', Rise ships Kanji/Naoto. The main character also has the option to approve of this pairing. She also ships Yosuke/Chie, which creates a hilarious [[ShesNotMyGirlfriend he's not my boyfriend]] moment. It should be noticed that Rise also ships herself with the protagonist, very overtly; it's possible she both tries to [[ShipperWithAnAgenda weed out competition]] ''and'' thinks the other pairings are cute. As for the remaining pairing, Yukiko/Teddie, Rise doesn't particularly ''encourage'' it, likely because she knows no girl would ever want a romance with [[CasanovaWannabe Teddie]], but she will pair them off if it nets her alone time with the protagonist.
** Yukiko herself actually ships Yosuke/Chie, revealed when she remarks she thinks they'd make a cute couple.
* ''VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth'': [[CloudCuckoolander Yukiko]], as it turns out, ships [[CrackPairing Kanji/Rise]]. This is despite Rise's obvious feelings for the P4 Hero and Kanji's crush on Naoto. And the player can make the P4 Hero ''agree'' with her. Rise later expresses confusion as to why Yukiko keeps telling her about Kanji's good points.
* ''VideoGame/{{Persona 5}}'': Sojiro Sakura actively encourages the main character to find a girlfriend and openly supports his efforts. It's most noticeable on Valentine's Day, where Sojiro will close the shop early so the protagonist and his companion of choice can have a romantic date alone. Of course, [[OverprotectiveDad he's not fully comfortable with the protagonist dating his daughter, Futaba]], warning him to not "try anything funny" before closing the shop for them.
** A downplayed example, but Futaba shipped her mother with Sojiro, a family friend and Futaba's later adoptive father. She was able to catch Wakaba's fondness for Sojiro and how Sojiro loved her in turn; but sadly, due to Wakaba's death, things never progressed further.

** TeamDad Hosea spends most of Chapter 2 & 3 coaxing John into trying to form a real relationship with Abigail. He’s very proud once John actually starts doing it in Chapter 4. * Luis from ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil4,'' despite leching on Ashley earlier, still supported Leon looking after her, saying Leon is better with the ladies.
* Sheva and Excella (''VideoGame/ResidentEvil5'') and Jessica (''VideoGame/ResidentEvilRevelations'') suggest to Chris that his feelings for Jill is more than just comradeship, which Chris stoically denies in true ChasteHero fashion.
* In ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil6'', Helena makes it clear that she knows there is [[DatingCatwoman ''something'']] between Leon and Ada. She tries to get him to open up to her about his feelings for Ada, and when this fails, tries to encourage him to leave her behind in order to go after Ada. In the closing scene of the game, Helena returns Ada's compact to Leon for when he sees "her" again.

Viridi's reaction doesn't help her dismiss this idea.

* ''VideoGame/Tekken7'' has Lee Cholan playing the role to [[RoboShip Lars and Alisa]]. After [[RobotGirl the latter]] was taken out of commission in [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} the previous game's]] climax due to [[spoiler:Jin triggering her OverrideCommand and Alisa subsequently shutting down from all the damage she sustained from both her fight with Lars and the strain on her systems]], Lee labors to repair Alisa at the request of Lars. The moment her repairs are complete (and [[LetsYouAndHimFight a little misunderstanding]] is resolved), Lee offers to take Alisa to see Lars, an offer she hastily accepts. And then, when [[TheGlomp Alisa happily pounces on Lars]] during their reunion, Lee can be seen smiling and clapping his hands, proclaiming "[[CatchPhrase Excellent!]] How moving!"
