Then at the Tea Party, Pudding actually falls in love with Sanji after he compliments her third eye which made it seem like the ship was rekindled especially since Sanji saved Pudding despite her trying to kill him. Then in another twist Sanji [[FallingIntoHisArms has a big]] ShipTease moment with Nami ''right infront of Pudding'' who is left behind, which pissed off both Sanji/Pudding and Luffy/Nami fans. Then in one more twist from Oda (who you'd think was doing this intenionally at this point) Pudding kisses Sanji before the arc ends, however Pudding also takes Sanji's memories away and flees while Sanji leaves her to save Luffy. Not mention the fight between Luffy and Sanji where the latter beat up the former in front of Nami [[FakeDefector as an act]] for his family, Luffy/Nami shippers were furious at Sanji considering it a betrayal and the ArmourPiercingSlap Nami gave Sanji as validation of the ship sink between Nami and Sanji. When Nami forgives Sanji later on, Luffy/Nami shippers were bitter about it, saying Sanji didn't deserve it.]] Ironcailly the Zoro/Nami fans have died down through all this, mainly due to Nami not having any real screen time with Zoro.

* ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'': Oddly averted. Everyone is free to ship whatever they like, and very few people would have a serious debate about it, since most people are multi-shippers. Considering [[LauncherOfAThousandShips Tsuna]] and the LoadsandLoadsofCharacters, it's not hard to see why. Although there seems to be opposition between Gokudera/Tsuna shippers and Yamamoto/Gokudera shippers.

* As a series with a boy with 31 girls as his harem, ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'' is bound to have this. Even though Asuna/Negi and Nodoka/Negi are the two favorites, Chisame/Negi got more popular later on, having at least one in-universe endorser, rabid fans who tout it as if it was already canon and, [[HilariousInHindsight funny enough]], [[spoiler:turned out to actually be canon]]. However, most of the fights do get ameliorated, mainly because there is one shipping that everyone can agree on: [[SchoolgirlLesbians Setsuna/Konoka]]. God help those who go against this sacred pairing.
** Apparently, ''Manga/UQHolder'' kinda made it worse (or better, depending on taste:) [[spoiler:apart from Negi/Chisame becoming canon Negima-wise, the UQ canon's Negi/Eva pairing took center stage.]] And that is not even counting the pairings for Negi's grandson Touta who, as of late has garnered his own; the focus are centered more on Touta/Eva, Touta/Kuromaru, and Touta/Kirie, [[spoiler:the later two mirroring the Setsuna/Konoka and Negi/Chisame pairings, respectively to a certain extent.]]

* After episode 19 of ''Anime/MawaruPenguindrum'', there has been some seriously fierce ship wars between fans of Kanba/Himari, Shouma/Ringo and [[spoiler:Shouma/Himari]]. It's extremely complicated to explain due to how much of a MindScrew the series is, but basically it's like this: the [[spoiler:third]] ship didn't have much ShipTease until the aforementioned episode, and since it goes between the other two, the fans of said "other couples" were seriously thrown off and started warring against it due to possible ShipSinking. The [[spoiler:Kanba/Himari]] supporters are '''specially'' loud in their displeasure, due to the BrokenBase factor in regards to [[spoiler:Kanba the MemeticBadass]] and [[spoiler:Shouma the victim of WhatMeasureIsANonBadass]]; the other "faction" mainly tends to panic about the possible consequences, but generally don't bash [[spoiler:Shouma]].

** Sesshomaru-related ShipToShipCombat intensified further when the [[SequelInAnotherMedium anime sequel]] ''Anime/YashahimePrincessHalfDemon'' revealed that Sesshomaru has [[SpinOffspring two half-demon daughters]] with no mother initially announced. Most fans viewed Rin as the likeliest candidate for the mother, which reignited bitter debates between Sesshomaru/Rin fans and anti-Sesshomaru/Rin fans over whether or not Sesshomaru/Rin becoming canon would be glorifying WifeHusbandy. [[spoiler:When episode 15 confirmed that Rin was indeed the mother of Sesshomaru's daughters, the flames surrounding the fandom could be seen from orbit.]]

** Sesshomaru-related ShipToShipCombat intensified further when the [[SequelInAnotherMedium anime sequel]] ''Anime/YashahimePrincessHalfDemon'' revealed that Sesshomaru has [[SpinOffspring two half-demon daughters]] with no mother initially announced.

** Most of the existing Bleach forums out there were established during the Soul Society arc, a period of time when the fandom considered Ichigo/Rukia to be [[FanPreferredCouple canon]] and Ichigo/Orihime to be a CrackPairing. However, as the latter pairing gained development, the forum environments turned hostile (as some moderators were more likely supporters of the former) and wank ensued (possibly causing the downtime of an entire forum during a peak period). To this day, shipping sections on ''Bleach'' forums are usually heavily regulated or missing entirely, and the majority of Ichigo/Orihime fans have banded together on their own ship-oriented forum.

** Aside from the most common pairings of Master/Butler, Ciel/Sebastian and Alois/Claude, the circus arc opened a new possibility of a Heterosexual Pairing with Ciel. You now have the option of supporting Ciel/Lizzy, or Ciel/Doll [[spoiler:aka Freckles]]. You can find a couple forums with wars about this. A lot of it is troll logic about how if Ciel really loved Doll, she'd be in the anime, or if he loved Lizzy, insert whatever reason you like. Oh, and if you think you're safe just sticking to Alois/Ciel, which is practically [[Webcomic/AxisPowersHetalia Belarus/Russia]] based on certain fansubs, you're ''not''.

** It's unlikely that ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'' will ever have the wild shipping combat that its predecessor has, but even early into its run, the Shipping Wars are beginning. Prior to the anime's start, fans were already shipping the kids, but it was civil. The main pairing was Boruto/Sarada and its only real competition was Inojin/Sarada, a ship where [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight the characters never interacted on-screen]] but probably have off-screen. The first episode of the anime introduced Sumire, a Hinata-like girl who instantly [[LikeParentLikeSpouse was shipped with Boruto]]. She's had a [[DieForOurShip hard time with BoruSara fans]]. While Boruto/Sumire fans are still dwarfed by the [=BoruSara=] supports, two factors made the war less one-sided: [[spoiler:Sumire's [[TykeBomb background]] making it clear she's more than just Hinata clone she first seemed, and the manga making it overt that Sumire ''does'' have feelings for Boruto]]. That's even ignoring the smaller shipper debates from pre-anime like Inojin/Himawari vs Inojin/Sarada or Mitsuki/Boruto vs Mitsuki/Sarada.

* ''WebComic/AxisPowersHetalia'': Of course, when you've got [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters Loads And Loads Of]] [[AnthropomorphicPersonification Anthropomorphic Nations]], a fair amount of ShipTease, and a distinct lack of {{Official Couple}}s, you can justify pretty much ''any'' pairing under the sun. The result is that people who ship Nation X with Nation Y will find themselves at odds with those who ship either X or Y with another character. Has it's own page [[ShipToShipCombat/AxisPowersHetalia here]] for specific examples.

* ''LightNovel/BokuWaTomodachiGaSukunai'': Kodaka/Sena and Kodaka/Yozora shippers. In other parts of the vast reaches of the internet, there's a battle brewing between those who prefer to see Kodaka with Yozora, and others who would rather see him with Sena; the other girls are largely relegated to DemotedToExtra status in this regard. Amusingly, Kodaka himself keeps letting it slip that ''Rika'' is really his type... or would be with a better personality, but that goes for all the girls.

** Hinanami (Chiaki and Hajime) and Komahina (Nagito and Hajime) didn't fight much in [[VisualNovel/SuperDanganRonpa2 the visual novels' day]], but soon started when the anime all but outright stated the former ship as canon while completely ignoring the latter. The only thing Komahina got was [[spoiler:one HoYay BigLippedAlligatorMoment of Izuru and Nagito meeting]], which was played as a joke and later overshadowed by [[spoiler:Izuru and Chiaki's interactions]]. This predictably caused Hinanami fans to start preparing their victory fireworks and Komahina fans to start preparing their weapons.

* ''{{LightNovel/Durarara}}'': Some Shizuo/Izaya fans will rip out the throats of anyone who mentions Namie or Vorona, while Mikado is just torn to pieces between everyone who wants him as their [[OneTruePairing OTP]] {{uke}}.

* The ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' fandom, infamous for its’ GottaShipEmAll status has a lot of arguments over shipping, particularly anything with Midoriya, who is shipped with pretty much everyone, but the most prominent are probably Midoriya/Todoroki, Midoriya/Uraraka, Midoriya/Bakugou, etc. The latter of the three gets a lot of criticism because Bakugou was Midoriya's former bully. There's also a lot of bickering between Midoriya/Todoroki and Todoroki/Momo shippers. Bakugou/Uraraka is a popular ship as well, with it not only pitted against Bakugou/Deku, but Bakugou/Kirishima as well. And as if the circle couldn't go further, Bakugou/Kirishima fans tend not to get along with Kirishima/Mina fans.

** With Ichigo and 002 being the most important girls in the promotional materials, and especially due to episode 2, you have Hiro/Ichigo and 002/Hiro shippers either at each other's throats or smugly claiming superiority over the other, similar to the [[Anime/{{Kiznaiver}} Chidori vs Noriko debates]]. Though that's unfair accusation since Toei produced plenty of Luffy/Nami moments as well like in [[Recap/OnePieceTVSP10AdventureOfNebulandia Adventure of Nebulandia]] and ''Anime/OnePieceFilmGold''.

** There is also a pretty big following for the coupling of [[HoYay Sanji and Zoro]], because of their constant married-couple-like bickering, although these people mostly don't involve in arguments over other pairings for [[CrackPairing understandable reasons]]...

* ''Manga/ShokugekiNoSoma'' has the question of Soma/Erina vs. Soma/Megumi. Fans of the former generally [[RealWomenNeverWearDresses bash Megumi for being "weak" and "dependent on Soma"]], whereas fans of the latter often hate Erina for being a {{Tsundere}} DefrostingIceQueen who was a bit too icy at first, even though she's gotten much better since. Smaller ships like Soma/Alice or Soma/Ikumi generally stay out of it.

* While ''Anime/LittleWitchAcademia'' ended up [[NoHuggingNoKissing not having any romance]], it still featured a lot of ShipTease between [[TheHero Akko]] and [[DefrostingIceQueen Diana]] and between Akko and [[BlueBlood Andrew]] which caused both ships to cement themselves as the most popular in the fandom. However, Diana/Akko is ''the'' FanPreferredCouple, and has been since the original short films with with Andew/Akko as a very distant second. To say that the two sides don't get along is an understatement, with {{Yuri Fan}}s that make up the Diakko fandom either ignoring or hating on Andrew for being male in a show about witches while Ankko fans tend to relegate Diana to the background. Ironically, the most common OneTrueThreesome of Akko/Andrew/Diana appears to be a fandom of its own as Diakko and Ankko fans both can't stand sharing Akko.

* ''Anime/AquarionEvol'', oh boooooooy. The Zessica/Amata and Mikono/Kagura factions are totaly vicious against the Mikono/Amata pairing. Amata is called "tool" and "ungrateful bastard" for [[spoiler:rejecting Zessica's love]], Mikono is called "slut" and "weak" for not falling into Amata's arms right away and being confused about Kagura, Zessica used by self-projecting fangirls and fanboys who think Amata owes her cock because she loves him and would sacrifice lots of things for him. On the flip side Kagura is either made into a heartless and evil brute (ignoring how he isn't without his depths), or MartyStu-fied a la Zessica while his fans insist that Mikono owes him vagina for being his MoralityPet -- so Mikono going for Amata instead makes her "a shallow and traitor whore" who "abaondoned Kagura and broke Zessica".

*** The HetIsEw factor gets even worse if you even ''mention'' the girls from the {{Dating Sim}}s. These stupid MarySue whores! They "straighten" super gay gay GAY characters with their evil vaginas and steal them from their "more deserving" male lovers, EWWWWWWW!

* ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'': Hiei/Kurama vs. Hiei/Mukuro. Also, [[OfficialCouple Yusuke/Keiko]] vs. Yusuke/Anyone else. And let's ''not'' get started on how many [[MarySue Mary Sues]] get together with either Hiei or Kurama and begin their ''own'' combat...

** Ciel/Lizzie ([[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap and Lizzie in general]]) is getting more support lately, though, as we learn that [[spoiler:Elizabeth ''did'' learn swordmanship, is good enough with it to protect Ciel from zombies, and she won't keep hiding it anymore]]... Did that bring wank? Of course it did, specially with rabid {{yaoi fangirl}}s who jumped on to accuse Elizabeth of being a MarySue [[FanDumb (ignoring how Sebastian or Ciel are both much more qualified to be called a GaryStu)]] and whined that her development was a total AssPull.

** ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'' has seen its share of Ship-To-Ship Combat, with fans endlessly debating about who [[TheHero Setsuna]] should be paired with, whether it be with [[ActualPacifist Marina Ismail]], [[BridgeBunnies Feldt Grace]] or [[CuteAndPsycho Nena Trinity]]. It doesn't help that supplementary materials (which incidentally are considered non-canon) released lead to complications as to who Setsuna will really end up with, thus leading to further confusion and [[FanDumb debate]]. Of course some ship him with [[FoeYay Graham]] and [[CargoShip Gundam]] as well.

** There's been a massive but short-lived second war between the Moderate ([[ShapedLikeItself Which is moderate-sized]]) and Militant Faction ([[TheLegionsOfHell which is growing in size beyond recognition]]). Militant Faction (in their own words) forced everyone to bow down and [[FanDumb hail NanoFate as absolute canon, killing any other ship between one of the two character with another suitor]] and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking bash Yuuno for trivial/unclear reasons]]. Nowadays, Animesuki consists almost solely of the aforementioned Moderate faction ([[NoodleIncident somehow being able to constantly repel invaders swiftly and decisively and bolster their numbers in the process]]), while the Militants flock to Nanofate.us and Nanochan.

*** It got so silly that people actually accused a group called "The Defenders of the True Fiancée" of spreading viruses and hacking websites. One particularly notorious shipper even accused the animators of [[FanDumb conspiring against his favorite character.]]

The fourth part, ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable'', has seen extremely ugly battles between Josuke/Okuyasu and Josuke/Rohan shippers, with Josuke/Okuyasu shippers accusing the Josuke/Rohan fans of being "pedophilia/ephebophilia supporters" since Josuke is a highschooler and Rohan is a young adult, while Josuke/Rohan fans claim that such detractors cannot distinguish fiction from reality and call them delusional.

First, the main LoveTriangle is between the UnluckyChildhoodFriend ClingyJealousGirl [[KissingCousins cousin]] and a psychopathic, [[SlasherSmile sadistic]] {{Yandere}} [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds with a tragic backstory]], which was engineered from the ground up to drive the fanboys into frothing ''hate'' on both sides, up to and including ''cheering on mass murder and genocide'' because "[[InsaneTrollLogic everyone deserved it]]." Second, because [[ArmedWithCanon the anime writers got in on the shipping war in favor of Kouta/Lucy]], while the manga supports Kouta/Yuka. Accordingly, Yuka's ClingyJealousGirl tendencies are played up to the point of {{Flanderization}}, while Lucy's sadism and malice are played down in favor of her bitterness and rage at the world (which are easier to sympathize with). [[spoiler:Lucy also appears to survive her final battle in the anime, but as it's CutShort, the anime team don't get to resolve the LoveTriangle.]]

** Luffy/Nami and Sanji/Nami shippers got their ''most heated'' around the Zou and Whole Cake Island arcs (since special focus was given Luffy, Nami and Sanji) like when Nami tearfully hugs Luffy tightly when she meets him again... ''but she's crying over Sanji'' ('''que arguments'''). Then in Whole Cake Island Pudding got in involved as Sanji LoveInterest bride which was encouraging to Luffy/Nami fans and annoyed Sanji/Nami fans [[spoiler: then it was revealed Pudding was EvilAllAlong which made Sanji/Nami shippers happy at the apparent Sanji/Pudding ShipSink. Then at the Tea Party, Pudding actually falls in love with Sanji after he compliments her third eye which made it seem like the ship was rekindled espeically since Sanji saved Pudding despite her trying to kill him. Then in another twist Sanji [[FallingIntoHisArms has a big]] ShipTease moment with Nami ''right infront of Pudding'' whose left behind, which pissed off both Sanji/Pudding and Luffy/Nami fans. Then in one more twist from Oda (who you'd think was doing this intenionally at this point) Pudding kisses Sanji before the arc ends, however Pudding also takes Sanji's memories away and flees while Sanji leaves her to save Luffy. Not mention the fight between Luffy and Sanji where the latter beat up the former in front of Nami [[FakeDefector as an act]] for his family, Luffy/Nami shippers were furious at Sanji considering it a betrayal and the ArmourPiercingSlap Nami gave Sanji as validation of the ship skink between Nami and Sanji. When Nami forgives Sanji later on, Luffy/Nami shippers were bitter about it, saying Sanji didn't deserve it]]. Ironcailly the Zoro/Nami fans have died down through all this, mainly due to Nami not having any real screen time with Zoro.
*** Luffy/Nami fans also accuse [[Creator/ToeiAnimation Toei]] of favouritism since they added Sanji/Nami moments to Zou, Whole Cake Island and even Wano. Though that's unfair accastion since Toei produced plenty of Luffy/Nami moments as well like in [[Recap/OnePieceTVSP10AdventureOfNebulandia Adventure of Nebulandia]] and ''Anime/OnePieceFilmGold''.

** And, while we're on the subject of Maka, the most popular people to pair her up with are [[ImpliedLoveInterest Soul]], [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight Kidd]], and [[FoeYay Chrona]]. Fans often disagree over which one is the true OTP.

* ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'' has had several bloody ship wars that have been known to tear apart forum communities. Everyone has their favorite girl. Back in the day the major ship wars were between Tenchi/Ryoko and Tenchi/Ayeka fans, but as of late, Tenchi/Sasami fans have become more vocal. The fact that the series pretty much has a canon [[MarryThemAll Harem Ending]] has done little to quell the fury of the shippers who think Tenchi should end up with their favorite girl.

The feeling is mutual, as Mami/Kyouko shippers argued that [[SempaiKouhai Mami is the one who taught Kyouko everything she knew]] and [[DieForOurShip insisted that Sayaka is the third wheel]]. The existence of [[spoiler:Nagisa (Charlotte's human form)]] in canon storyline [[PairTheSpares managed to soften the shipping war between these two pairings]].
