Setsuna is of course, blushing a lot since the two are ''alone'' together. The actual plot? [[spoiler:Konoka setting the entire thing up so that ''she and Setsuna could share a romantic kiss [[ThePromise like they promised to when they were kids]]'']]. The sound you just heard was the combined {{Squee}} of [=KonoSetsu=] shippers.
*** Hell, it was scanlated ahead by ten chapters for a reason.

** One of Akamatsu's translated notes in the back of volume 27 is a response to the question about possible Rakan/Nagi lip-lockage. His answer? Paraphrased, it's "there are other ways to form a pactio besides kissing, so I'm not saying they did, but then again, I'm not saying they didn't." So... yeah.
** The whole quote is: "It’s too early to say that Rakan and Nagi kissed. But there’s no proof that they didn’t, either. (laugh)", this means it was a joke, it doesn't imply anything.

** It's heavily hinted that most of the girls [[spoiler: spend a lot of time with Negi whenever they can]], to the point that one, [[spoler: Makie]], outright addresses Nagi as father.

** Does this mean we should all start shipping Negi/Theodora considering Negi's {{Gamebreaker}} artifact?
*** Nah. That artifact is useless without the user having any ministra with artifacts of their own. Put another way: There could be no Negi/Theodora without Negi/Somebody/Anybody/Everybody Else. Again for emphasis: If Negi didn't have his relationships with all of his girls, the artifact he gets from Theodora would be powerless. (Also, someone should really point out to him that his own artifact is pointing to the fact that he should probably stop traveling down the "Dark" Path of risky personal power, trying to do everything by himself, and instead start walking the "Light" Path of relying on his friends more and letting them help him as much as he helps them. His double-standard is going to get him martyred at this rate.

* The [[spoiler: TheFinalTemptation]] sub-arc cranks up many of the previously mentioned ones as well as adding some new ones. [[spoiler: Negi got to see the greatest desires of Ala Alba crewmembers [[LotusEaterMachine in their dreams]], which include: Konoka/Setsuna(with an erotic one for Setsuna!), [[LovesMyAlterEgo N(a/e)gi/Ako]](Ako's), Nodoka/Negi/Yue(Nodoka's), and Natsumi/Kotarou(Natsumi's). The new ones includes Negi/Luna/Fate(Luna's), Negi/Akira(Akira's), and [[BodyguardCrush Chachamaru/Negi/Eva]](Chachamaru's). It's unclear whether Ku Fei's are of [[TeacherStudentRomance romantic]] nature or not.]]

* Chapter 355 went for [[spoiler:NoRomanticResolution]] with Negi, showing this instead. To wit, he's shown in one panel of the last chapter wearing a tuxedo, alongside TheRival wearing the same, with [[spoiler:Asuna and Ayaka]] wearing dresses, but that could just as easily be a royal court function. Another panel reshuffles the people around him to show a close up of him, [[spoiler:Nodoka, Yue, and Chisame]], three of the biggest contenders in his harem (and it's mentioned that all three have frequent contact with him). Then there's [[spoiler:Chachamaru's]] panel saying that her time [[spoiler:as Negi's secretary saw her "getting wound up every day."]]

** The last chapter stated that they were both married in the same year, but specifically does not say to whom.

* Chapter 51 shows the class roster with Negi's scribblings of his thoughts on each of the girls. His written thoughts on Nodoka? "Very cute." Then there's Asuna spontaneously deciding to kiss Negi.

* Oh god [[spoiler: YaoiFangirls get their Fate+Negi shipping in Ch 336]]

** Not to mention how she took care of Negi's wounded body for three straight days without sleep during his [[BlackMagic Magic Erebea]] [[{{TrainingFromHell}} admission test]], [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/mahou_sensei_negima/v23/c209/9.html how she reacts]] to the (somewhat) SadisticChoice, and [[FearLeadsToAnger her reaction]] when she found out that he succeeds. * 339 gives us (in the form of a 3x3 date) [[spoiler: Negi/Kakizaki and Kotarou/Madoka]] and something completely new: [[spioler: Fate/Sakurako]].

** On a similar note, Ayaka's Pactio kiss nearly took over the system. I wonder what ''that'' says about her.

* Chapter 334 [[spoiler: Eva had to remind Negi and Asuna that flirting should wait, AFTER they deafet the Lifemaker.]]

* Also interesting to note that while [[spoiler:Nagi protects Arika, it's Asuna who protects Negi; sort of like a flip-flop in roles. Maybe Negi+Asuna will be paired after all.]]

* Also as a side note, the entire chapter felt like [[spoiler: Chisame]] had become the embodiement, both pyshically and mentally of [[spoiler: Naru]].

* It looks like Chapter 337 was a good day for [[spoiler: Chachamaru]] as it looks like she's going to be [[spoiler: Negi's new secretary, and according to Negi the work will be pretty much endless so it's practically a lifelong position]]. Yeah, [[SarcasmMode I'm sure that really was a tough call for her]]. It even came complete with a hilarious daydream and a touching bit at the end where [[spoiler: Chachamaru remarks on Negi's eyes, now turned towards the future instead of after his father, as being the same eyes that granted her a soul]].
** Note that the daydream moved into the two of them using first names, with no honorifics, and being quite casual with each other.
