She's ultimately revealed to have had a daughter, but her father Kenneth forced her to give her up for adoption.

They then struggle to get a maid, but Marisol fills this role in Season 1, but she leaves [[spoiler:because she's only undercover.]] In Season 2, they briefly replace her with a maid who quits in the first episode because they get robbed at gunpoint. Then Valentina takes over, but that doesn't last either.

* LoveObstructiveParents: Zoila, especially when Valentina has feelings for Remi. [[spoiler: She just doesn't want her to get her heart broken, cause she dated Genevieve's brother, who was rich, but he fell in love for someone who was rich as well. That's why she always told her daughter "Rich guys don't date the help".]]

* WholePlotReference: Season 2's mystery arc bears a few resemblances to ''Literature/{{Rebecca}}''. The first wife of Marisol's fiancé died under conflicting circumstances, and his maid is unusually devoted to said first wife and extremely hostile to Marisol. Notably, Marisol and Nicholas met when they both tried to buy a rare edition of Daphne du Maurier's book, the author of Rebecca.

* GossipyHens: The maids all share information about their employers to each other, Rosie most of all, as Peri and Spence are actors. [[spoiler: This is Marisol's strategy to gather information on the Powells and who framed her son.]]
