The fact that they're one of the very few who even remembers the traumatizing experiences in the previous timeline, and the relative rarity of mysteries in this new timeline, and they feel even more isolated as a result. As such, when HarlanEllison offers them a chance to solve more mysteries at his university, they jump on the chance. ]]
