Throughout the pantheon there are those who want to keep stability and peace, however some are more self-interested in it. Some who wish to exploit the idea of peace, and use the forces of nature for their own goals. The Hired Guardians are these kinds of gods, joining Gaea's forces only because it benefits them, or is straight up PragmaticVillainy. Many of these gods are still on the payroll of other alliances, and there may be a few spies
To keep order, Gaea has summoned her lover Tartarus as an internal policeman of sorts to keep the Hired Guardians in line. [[TheDreaded As the literal embodiment of Hell]], he serves as a punishment to those the Preservation Council sees as acting out of line. For maximum intimidation, the domiciles for the Hired Guardians are directly above Tartarus itself.
