* Rather bizarrely, Ryu in ''VideoGame/StreetFighter V: The Animated Series''. The series essentially transplants the canon Ryu's personality and installs that of an atypical Shonen [[TheHero Hero]], including the voracious appetite.

* What [[CatGirl Koneko Toujou]] from ''LightNovel/HighSchoolDXD'' lacks in portion size, she makes up for in consistency. Whenever she's seen during downtime, she's constantly snacking on something, yet somehow keeps her figure as a tiny underclassman. Possibly justified by her position as a [[ChessMotifs Rook]], those insane feats of strength she casually performs must burn calories pretty efficiently. Plus her less active (albeit older) sister is... [[MsFanservice significantly curvier]].

* Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, Amelia and, in the anime, Pokota in ''LightNovel/{{Slayers}}''. Justified in-universe as the more you do, the more you need to eat to sustain yourself. As a result, spellcasters need to take in lots of energy to counteract the drain of the spells they cast, and Lina is extremely careless about slinging spells around. Gourry's hyper-swordsman skills (and his own considerable stature) take up a lot of energy for similar reasons. The only exemptions are Xellos, who is an EmotionEater, and Zelgadis, who usually eats ''less'' due to his nature as a Chimera -- being one-third demon and one-third [[{{Golem}} rock golem]] means he needs less physical sustenance. The one time he does eat like the others is to enjoy a victory feast for killing Copy Rezo and Zanaffar at the end of the first season.

* Kumoko from ''LightNovel/SoImASpiderSoWhat'' eats pretty much anything she can kill (given that starvation is a very real risk for her), and can consume many times her own mass in one go. She's a bit mystified as to how that works until she discovers that the excess is stored away magically.

* In ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'' Katarina absolutely loves sweets and tea and will consume them until she literally gets sick and risks either throwing up or wetting herself. She can eat enough of them for several people and is only barely held in check by her mother and brother. She'll even eat off the ground if she thinks it looks tasty. It's eventually noted that this constant wolfing down of everything sweet in her vicinity ''is'' starting to cause some weight gain, though she doesn't care at all.

* Holo from ''LightNovel/SpiceAndWolf'' doesn't wolf down an unrealistic amount of food like some of the other examples as fitting the more serious tone of the series, but she will eat herself sick if she's got enough apples and in the novels she loves cookies. She's had serious hangovers more than once, too. This is all because she doesn't know her limits to eating while in human form. Like many people often do sooner or later, she finds herself pushing to the limit of how far she can go just because she doesn't know when to stop. This behavior is justified InUniverse as a case of MyInstinctsAreShowing (as Holo explains, a wolf's instinct is to gorge herself on food when she has it, because she doesn't know when she'll get to eat again), and Lawrence theorises it might also be a case of ShapeshifterBaggage -- that is, Holo eats so much because her true form is a roughly elephant-sized wolf and she needs to support that body, not a mere petite human one.

* Sakura from ''Manga/AhMyBuddha''. She eats enough food to feed the whole temple, and yet never loses her great figure.
* Renge of ''Manga/{{Airmaster}}'' is well known for this. Anytime she even sees [[UnknownRival Sakiyama]], she will demand her to buy food. Hell, in one episode, she ate an entire bowl of rice in mere seconds and outate several adults in a food-eatting contest. The only thing that makes it over the top is that she's [[OlderThanTheyLook as small as a child despite being a teenager.]]
* Junta from ''Manga/AmeNochiHare''. His voracious appetite in virtually any situation is somewhat of a running gag.
* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'':
** Sasha Blouse to the point that she can't resist stealing and eating a potato during recruitment (which gets her punished). She even steals meat, which could get her into ''solitary confinement'', just because she couldn't resist her appetite. [[spoiler: This is because she nearly starved to death in the past.]]
** Also used for horrifying effect with the Titans. All they do is [[EatenAlive eat people]]. And eat. And eat until what passes for their stomach is full, at which point they vomit and start all over again. They cannot digest or gain any form of nourishment from their victims, so they appear do it simply because they ''enjoy'' eating. (Later chapters explain what the Titans are unconsciously trying to get out of the process... which is still unrelated to sustenance.)
* ''Manga/BakiTheGrappler'' once ate enough Chinese food to give him a BalloonBelly, and then 8 litres of sugar fruit mixed with water to [[spoiler:''regenerate his lost muscle tissue'']].
* In ''Manga/BeautyAndTheFeast'', Yamato's appetite is enormous thanks to being a growing high schooler as well as an extremely active athlete. He has no problems eating eight bowls of rice in a single sitting and once eats his way through two ''hundred'' takoyaki balls before he's satisfied. He mentions that he's always had trouble putting on weight despite his appetite, and was skin and bones in junior high despite eating more than everyone else.
* Charles Grey in the ''Manga/BlackButler'' manga managed to eat Earl Phantomhive out of house and home, with 34 dishes piled high.
* Train from ''Manga/BlackCat'' manages to use up millions of dollars from hard earned bounties by eating too much. How he manages to remain stick thin remains a mystery... In certain fan communities, there's actually a joke about how, even if [[BigBad Creed]] [[WeCanRuleTogether wanted Train]], he probably wouldn't be able to support him, considering how Train goes through food money like water.
* Charmy Pappitson from ''Manga/BlackClover''. Introduced as the "Perpetual Glutton", she's first seen finishing several plates worth of food, before using magic to create a sheep that cooks even ''more'' food. She's almost always seen eating, and tends to only think about eating more food.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** After the fight with Yammy and Ulquiorra, Yoruichi is shown putting away massive amounts of food. She was badly injured after that fight, and Shinigami replace reiatsu used in battle through eating. The amount of food she consumes is a visual sign of just how much energy she had to use up to win her fight. The anime takes it to OverlyLongGag proportions by showing a 3 minute comedy sequence of her doing nothing but picking up a full bowl, gobbling it down, and putting down the empty bowl only to immediately reach for the next full bowl.
** Orihime eats strange food combinations and often has strange portion sizes to go with it. She once eats an entire loaf of bread in one sitting. Her classmates theorise that the reason she doesn't put on weight is because her food immediately goes to her [[GagBoobs breasts]].
** By using CombatTentacles, Yumichika's EnergyAbsorption ability is already [[BadPowersGoodPeople odd for a protagonist]] to have, until the villainous version is revealed. Liltotto also has EnergyAbsorption as her main ability. However, she does it by stretching her mouth to an extremely unnatural degree, and scooping up Shinigami to [[ImAHumanitarian eat them]] -- live and whole. In between fighting, she is constantly eating a range of normal food and snacks and once says she can never get full, suggesting her power keeps her constantly hungry.
* Saya Otonashi of ''Anime/BloodPlus'' has this to the point that her [[HappilyAdopted brother]] Kai regularly refers to her as a glutton. It's actually an example of FridgeBrilliance: Saya only receives enough blood through transfusions to remain healthy, but her body still needs more energy, and human food doesn't quite match up to blood.
* In ''Manga/Brave10'', Isanami eats as much as her ten teammates combined and has a SweetTooth, to boot.
* Melan of ''Anime/BrigadoonMarinAndMelan'' sure can pack away the rice, eating gallons of it at a time. Makes a bit of sense: he's [[EatingMachine a cyborg who refuels with human food]].
* ''Manga/CaheDetectiveClub'':
** Nana Mizuha, whose EmbarrassingNickname is the "Demon Lord of Gluttony" and "human black hole". The RunningGag involves her eating large quanities of food to the point she was ''blacklisted'' from a resturant. Another is when she eats, her crush Touma Tokigawa would give her more food, to her embarrassment (which suprisingly, is what he likes about her). And then there's the one time she wins a "All you can eat" contest without ''realizing'' it. She does however uses it to her advantage as she wins a gold keychain set with her eating habits (which is eating ''99 burgers in one sitting''). Also, let's not forget she ate an ''entire loaf of bread'' for breakfast. Funnily enough as well, she can cook.
** Her UnknownRival Yurika Minamigawara is also this. Unlike Nana, who eats rather elegantly, she does not...
* Yukito Tsukishiro and Keroberos, from ''Manga/CardCaptorSakura''. Yukito's appetite is specifically noted to be at least ''three times'' the norm. His excuse is that his body tries to compensate for [[spoiler:not having a source of magical power, and later Sakura not being able to provide enough magical power to keep him in existence due to her extreme youth]], while Keroberos just likes to eat. Sakura's mother Nadeshiko was one too, being able to finish a large cake in one sitting despite being a frail girl.
* Index and Aisa Himegami of ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex'', although the latter is only a big eater when it comes to burgers. Index, however, will probably swallow a kitchen before being satisfied. Fortunately for her (and [[CatchPhrase misfortunately]] for the guy), Touma knows how to cook.
* ''Manga/CityHunter'' examples:
** Ryô Saeba often eats huge "lunches" accompanied by two liters of eggnog. {{Justified}} by both his powerful muscles (necessary for his job as a [[ProfessionalKiller Sweeper]]) and [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower his daily training to keep his edge]].
** Kaori Makimura, Ryô's partner, eats a lot too, and once surprised the girl he was bodyguarding by suddenly taking a snack after they had been captured, as she didn't know when she would eat again and was about to break out.
** Umibozu is by far the biggest eater in the series. {{Justified}} by him being another Sweeper and his enormous size.
** One-shot character Yumiko Sato once literally matched Ryô's eating (they were at a restaurant, Ryô ordered a lot of food, and she told the waiter to bring her the same, and they both ate everything). No justification, just RuleOfFunny.
* C. C. from ''Anime/CodeGeass'' [[TrademarkFavoriteFood loves pizza]]. Fans like to joke that it goes straight to her trunk, hence the FanNickname "Pizza Butt".
* Saki in ''Manga/CorpsePrincess'' munches sweets at a rate that would put [[Manga/DeathNote L]] to shame.
* In two ''Anime/CuteyHoney'' versions, the title MagicalGirl is a BigEater since she burns LOTS of energy while fighting/transforming, so she needs at least a minimum of energy to have access to her VoluntaryShapeshifter and {{Master of Disguise}} powers.
* Hei from ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' is both an excellent cook, and known for eating a [[http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_RKasPR27xl0/TQ-VpoVwRAI/AAAAAAAAAR8/0HWuaFuGchw/s1600/Darker+than+Black+scrnshot10.jpg ridiculous number of servings]] per meal. Granted, he probably burns a lot of calories due to all the super powered contractor fights he partakes in, but still. Since he's a Contractor, it initially seems that his eating habits are his [[PowerAtAPrice Remuneration]], but it turns out that, ''nope'', he just really likes food. Misaki Kirihara isn't quite as bad, but does eat a lot as well (and likes fried food), which she justifies by claiming she gets lots of exercise as a cop. Gets taken [[UpToEleven over the top]] when the two of them have dinner together.
* L from ''Manga/DeathNote'' [[SweetTooth never stops eating sweets]]. Apparently if you use your brains enough you don't have to worry about getting fat. At 179 cm and 50 kg, it ''must'' be true, right?
* ''Anime/DekoBokoFriends'' has a character named Belly Boing who absolutely loves to eat sweets. The fact that his name is ''[[MeaningfulName Belly Boing]]'' says volumes about his eating habits.
* In ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon'', (possible) oni Tade is always hungry and eats huge amounts of food. In one panel, the amount of rice in her bowl is taller than her head!
* Allen Walker in ''Manga/DGrayMan''. Just look at how much food he orders when he first enters the Black Order...
** Explained by the fact that he is a parasitic type exorcist which means his weapon directly uses upon a lot of his energy in combat so he needs to eat a lot. Other parasitic types are shown to eat a lot as well.
** Though Allen's case is extreme. An extra hints at the fact that the parasitic type excuse helps him to cover a serious problem...
* In ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'', the extremely polite and energetic Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku is seen at his introduction in the Mugen Train arc eating dozens of meal servings while board, two waiters were dedicated entirely to serving him at that moment; his former disciple and now Hashira colleague, Mitsuri Karonji is also seen eating a lot later in the Swordsmith Village arc.
* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'':
** Taichi and '''all''' the Digimon in ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''. Justified in case of the Digimon, since they need to have a minimal stash of energy to transform into their evolved forms; once Agumon attempted to digivolve on an empty stomach... and couldn't. While Taichi is a growing pre-teen/teenager and pretty athletic, it still doesn't justify the ''amounts'' of food he ate.
** Zoe/Izumi from ''Anime/DigimonFrontier''. She out-ate JP//Junpei in an eating contest in episode 17!
* [[Anime/DomoTV Domo]] can really pack it in, as seen with his rapid consumption of just about every food item he comes across (save for [[DoesNotLikeSpam apples]]). It comes with having a perpetually open mouth.
* In ''Manga/DoctorSlump'', Gatchan, despite being the size of a baby, eats colossal amounts. Since he's an ExtremeOmnivore who can eat anything save for rubber, it tends to cause a lot of property damage.
* ''Franchise/DragonBall'':
** Much earlier, in the [[Manga/DragonBall original series]], when Goku and Krillin were training together under Master Roshi, ''both'' of them were seen eating sizable quantities of rice (to be fair, training under Roshi was shown to be physically intense), to the point that Launch brought forth a ''giant'' tub of just-cooked rice for them to eat. It was so large and heavy it crushed the dinner table.
** During ''Anime/DragonBallZ'', the Saiyans and their half-human offspring are notorious {{Big Eater}}s. Goku doesn't even let being dead stop him from chowing down, to King Kai's eternal confusion. One character even commented that Goku seems to be able to eat more in one sitting than his stomach could logically hold. Though it's mostly played for laughs, the Saiyans might arguably be a case of JustifiedTrope when you consider just how many calories their bodies must burn with all that muscle, much less the fighting, and all that KiManipulation seems to [[CastFromCalories take an extra bite as well]]. An extra bit of humor comes from the other characters' reactions to this; no matter how long they've known the eater in question and how many times they've seen the eater's voluminous consumption and [[TooHungryToBePolite awful table manners]], they never, ''ever'' get used to the ghastly display and always look on in dumbfounded shock.
** The villain Beerus from ''[[Anime/DragonBallZBattleOfGods Battle Of Gods]]'' is also a really big eater, and he's much skinnier than Goku. He and Whis spend much of their time on Earth sampling the cuisine, and the same goes for both their time spent on Earth and elsewhere in ''Anime/DragonBallSuper''.
** It's something of a running gag, as Tien, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu all eat similar amounts of food on King Kai's planet.
** PlayedForDrama in the Future Trunks Saga of ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', where Future!Trunks is starving in a post-apocalyptic world and gets fatigued just from running. He still offers half of a meat can to Mai, knowing they'll soon be going back in time where there's plenty of food for both of them.
** Majin Buu of course. In fact, in the movie introducing Beerus, the main conflict is caused by them fighting over food. When he was destructive, eating everything in sight was his biggest priority. The evil Super Buu even manages to break through the Hyberbolic Time Chamber by yelling about being trapped there and not getting to eat. He then turns nearly a dozen characters into candy bars instantly.
** Played UpToEleven and {{Deconstructed|Trope}} to the point of HorrorHunger with Android 21, the BigBad from ''VideoGame/DragonBallFighterz''. Being a bio-android of the same kind as Cell, she's programmed to eat other people, especially strong people, in order to gain their power. Also, much like Cell, she was [[LegoGenetics made from the genetic makeup of many different races]], including the above mentioned big eaters, Saiyans and Majin. All of this combined has given her an unstable, uncontrolable and insatiable hunger for other fighters. This is played as much for tragedy as it is horror, as [[WarmBloodbagsAreEverywhere Android 21's all-consuming hunger prevents her from having the one thing she truly, sincerely wants:]] A family.
* An unusually dark example is in ''Manga/DriftingClassroom''. Nakata is an insatiable eater. The problems: first, they're in a post apocalyptic wasteland with no way to get more food, so his eating is causing others to starve. Second, when he eats he summons an invincible gigantic insect monster that tries to kill everyone.
* Kullweet Envatilia (or Kuea for short), from ''Anime/ElementalGelade''.
* Nana from ''Manga/ElfenLied'' thinks with her stomach and goes into a trance whenever food is mentioned.
* ''Manga/Eyeshield21'': Otawara eats a ton but is almost pure muscle. With Popeye arms. Ikari, Otawara's teammate, is a Big Eater himself, but while a tough, muscular guy, is built pretty slim.
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** Natsu Dragneel would be considered one of these.
** Erza as well, though [[SweetTooth towards cake.]]
** Lady Minerva. She wins Sabertooth's annual eating contest with little effort at all, and without looking any fatter (in contrast to Sting and Rogue). In the epilogue, she even asks for [[UpToEleven 30 more desserts]] afterwards.
* The title character of ''Anime/FlintTheTimeDetective''. His appetite wasn't just for gags, however, it was also his AchillesHeel; Flint would become weak if he had to fight on an empty stomach.
* Nagisa in ''Anime/{{Free}}''. Despite being the smallest guy in the main cast, he is shown to eat crazy amounts of food. He can eat half a pizza in a minute, reminisces his eating eight cream breads in one sitting as one of the happiest moments in his life, goes crazy in festivals with food booths, loves Gou's protein powdered rice balls, and his order in a restaurant literally does not end unless someone interrupts him.
* Satellizer from ''Manga/{{Freezing}}'' towards hamburgers.
* Rindou from ''Manga/FoodWars''. When the SchoolFestival rolled around, she could have used her pull as Second Seat of [[AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil The Council Of Ten Masters]] to open a booth and make heaps of money, like her peers did. Instead, she chose to eat her way through 120 booths in five days. She is also never seen without some form of snack food.
* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Edward Elric tends to do this, all while also eating his brother's share due to a certain handicap in that area. It's speculated by Ed himself that this he might be [[spoiler: eating to support his own body ''and'' Al's real body which is caught in the Door of Truth.]]
** Also, Ling Yao has a large appetite and bills Edward on everything he eats.
* Miaka Yuuki in ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'' takes this to quite the extremes. When the antagonists use food to ''lure her into traps'' twice...
* Bleed Kaga from ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'' eats anything (except for [[RealMenHateSugar foods that are too sweet]]) to a degree. In one episode of ''Double-One'', he eats an egg yolk before eating a piece of toast and in another on the same show, he eats noisily and fast.
* In ''Manga/GAGeijutsukaArtDesignClass'', Namiko's sister's Fujiko's first appearance at home has her eating the entire contents of the fridge, including what Namiko's intended lunch ingredients. School cafeteria workers noted when she was in school, they used one extra sack of rice a day... On top of that, she is ''flatter'' than HugeSchoolgirl Namiko.
* IdiotHero Daiya Tsuwabuki of ''Anime/GaikingLegendOfDaikuMaryu'' comments in the first episode that lunch is the most important thing of the day.
* Yuri Cube in ''VideoGame/GalaxyFrauleinYuna''. (Maybe subverted since she's an android...)
* Kagura from ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' is constantly snacking on sukonbu. She also eats so much that Gintoki once used her to get out of paying a bill at a place running an "Eat XX amount in XX minutes and it's free!" promo. Gintoki himself is a sugar freak who only cuts back because his doctor told him he was on the verge of diabetes.
* Miharu in ''Manga/GirlsBravo'' never stops eating, or questioning whether newly discovered objects (for instance, butterflies) are edible.
* ''Anime/GirlsUndPanzer'':
** Hana Isuzu is subtle about being a big eater. She is the tallest in the cast, and no one directly mentions it, every time people are shown eating, Hana has at least twice as much food as anyone else. It's probably just a high metabolism.
** Alisa offers Kay a bite of her hamburger in the closing credits of ''der Film''. This "bite" takes half the hamburger. Kay is also shown eating a lot at other times, as well, such as during the final match of the series when she chows down on a tub of popcorn nearly as big as her torso.
** Anzio High School is full of them. They prioritize food so much that they could buy a new P40 tank just by cutting their food budget by a third, and then the sensha-do team skipped the unveiling of said tank because the lunch bell rang. In the ''Motto Love Love Sakusen'' manga, some of their students exhaust the Oarai school ship's entire pasta supply after just a day of staying there.
* Uehara in ''Good Morning Call''. The first meal we see him eat is four pizzas, ''all in one go''.
* ''Manga/GourmetGirlGraffiti'' is about food, after all.
** Kirin, generally, despite her petite body.
--> '''Ryou, on Kirin's first meal at her place''': I wonder if this is what eating competitions look like...
** In addition to Kirin generally, the entire main trio when the food is good enough. See episode 3. Special mention goes to Shiina, who suggests going out for pancakes or crepes after eating about 6 kinds of rice omelets for "breakfast."
* Aila from ''Anime/GundamBuildFighters'' is this. Although we don't see her eat a large amount of food at once, most of her scenes outside of battles has her enjoying food. She has also been seen with a large bag of food which was implied she would eat all of, with her being offended for even losing a single meatbun from it. [[spoiler: This takes a depressing turn when a brief flashback showed that she was a malnourished and homeless orphan]].
* Hakushon, the main character of ''Anime/HakushonDaimao'' loves to eat hanbāgu and can eat dozens of these steaks at once.
* ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'':
** Ayumu. While her meals aren't normally out of the ordinary, they are [[OnceAnEpisode more frequent than those of any other character in the series]].
** As of Chapter 275, [[spoiler: the yet unnamed cat-spirit that haunts Nagi's new apartment]] wolfs down Hinagiku's cooking while inhabiting Izumi's body. It's yet unknown what effect exactly this will have, but we now have the opportunity for another big eater.
* A more serious example in ''Manga/HellTeacherNube'': when [[{{Tsundere}} Kyoko]] is [[DemonicPossession possessed]] by the spirit of an unborn child, she [[BodyHorror grows an extra mouth on her nape]] (which uses her GirlishPigtails [[TentacleRope as tentacles to snatch food from the vicinity]].) It is impossibly ''ravenous'', impossible to satisfy, and Kyoko does gain weight from whatever the mouth eats. When she discovers the suffering the child's soul is going through, ''she'' eats too, to stop it from [[ExtremeOmnivore trying to devour random objects]] and ''classmates'', until [[PapaWolf Nube]] [[WhoYouGonnaCall exorcises]] the soul. And then Kyoko has to burn all the weight off with traditional exercise!
* Kyosuke from ''Manga/HentaiKamen'' is shown to have a comically tremendous appetite after wearing a particularly powerful pair of panties.
* [[MoeAnthropomorphism America and Italy]] from ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' love to shovel junk food and pasta down their respective throats.
* Miyako in ''Manga/HidamariSketch'' is one, but since she is also in {{perpetual poverty}}, she is practically sponging off her three neighbours.
* Fuka Otonashi, title character of ''Manga/HighSchoolNinjaGirlOtonashiSan'' is sneaking her lunch within the first page of the manga. She goes on to join the Cooking Club solely for the chance to eat more, and can be bribed into doing just about anything with enough rice balls. This only affects her weight once, when she briefly puts on extra pounds over the holidays.
* ''Manga/HinomaruZumou'' mentions how much sumo wrestlers eat now and again. Learning how to eat like a sumo pro (''10,000 calories'' a day) is actually the subject of a training exercise; the aftermath leaves them banned from a buffet restaurant, with the owner traumatized and his brother swearing revenge.
* Hitomi of ''Manga/HitomiChanIsShyWithStrangers'' eats a ''lot'' when she does during the day. Yuu internally rationalizes this being the reason to why she is as [[HugeSchoolgirl developed and physically matured]] as she is in the present.
* Hori Kyouko from ''Manga/{{Horimiya}}'' is known to ask friends to give her some of their food, and then eating it all. Miyamura is a frequent victim.
* Suzume from ''Manga/{{Hyakko}}'' has a nigh-insatiable appetite. It doesn't help that everybody feels obliged to hand her food.
* Three female examples from ''Manga/IkkiTousen'': Hakufu, Ryuubi ''and'' Chouhi. Both Chouhi and Ryuubi ''do'' look a bit pudgier, but in Chouhi's case it's more likely to be muscle than fat since she's a CuteBruiser.
* Karuta from ''Manga/InuXBokuSS'', almost always has something to eat in her hand; if not, she will soon.
* Gumimin the fennec fox Sweetspet from ''Anime/JewelpetTheMovieSweetsDancePrincess''. The first thing he does upon landing in Sweetsland's castle is to eat his own gummy capsule, and then he consumes all the cake meant for Princess Mana's birthday in a matter of seconds. Ruby gives him the name "Paku" when he can't remember his real name specifically because of his insatiable hunger ("paku paku" is a Japanese onomatopoeia for eating). This may have to do with [[spoiler:Gumimin being a legendary Sweetspet who has to eat the Candy Tower, an important landmark of Sweetsland, whenever it gets old and starts to break so that a new Candy Tower can take its place. In the film's climax, Gumimin becomes a hulking monster that starts to gobble down Sweetsland buildings uncontrollably]].
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' plays this trope a bit more seriously than usual. In Part 2, we are introduced to the Pillar Men, an ancient vampiric race of superbeings that devoured other lifeforms. Eventually, their appetites grew too massive, and they would have consumed all life on Earth had they not come up with a way to create more satisfying meals. Namely, by carving magical stone masks and using them on humans in order to turn them into vampires.
* ''Anime/KanColle'':
** In a fleet full of {{Cloudcuckoolander}}s and {{Bunny Ears Lawyer}}s, aircraft carrier Akagi is one of the {{Only Sane|Man}} [[MoeAnthropomorphism Fleet Girls]] -- except when it comes to her ''huge'' appetite. It's this trait that ends up losing her and her division mate the Naval District's curry-making competition, as she devours the ingredients before they're even cooked. Akagi's appetite is a carryover from the [[VideoGame/KanColle game]]; aircraft carriers like her are an enormous drain on resources. Kaga also eats as much as Akagi, but doesn't seem to have as much appetite.
** Even Akagi takes second place to battleship Yamato, the most powerful girl in the entire fleet. Unfortunately, her resource requirements are ''so'' large that the Admiral considers her AwesomeButImpractical, refusing to field her unless it becomes absolutely necessary.
* Ran, the [[AloofDarkHairedGirl Aloof Dark Haired]] ActionGirl protagonist of ''Anime/KazemakaseTsukikageRan''. Justified as she's a destitute {{Ronin}} and her poverty gives her few chances to eat well.
* Professor Northern White-Faced Owl and her assistant Eurasian Eagle Owl from ''Anime/KemonoFriends''. Their debut episode has them requesting Kaban and Serval to cook a meal for them before they could help them identify what Kaban is.
* Hanako of ''Manga/KemonoMichi'' has this as her main character trait. She ran away from home because it was a neverending course of the same three meats (Orc, Goblin, and Troll), and ''all'' of her actions from then on are motivated by eating, and trying out anything (or sometimes, ''anyone'') that looks particularly delicious. And by "anything", we do mean ''[[ExtremeOmnivore anything.]]''
* Najika, the main character of ''Manga/KitchenPrincess'' is portrayed as one of these, probably related to her [[SupremeChef absolute sense of taste]].
* Kurumi and Manami, Kyôsuke's sisters, in ''Manga/KimagureOrangeRoad''. Hatta and Komatsu ''truly'' didn't know what they were getting into when they asked the girls out for pizza. In addition to it, Kurumi is a LethalChef. [[JustifiedTrope It's another case justified]] by [[PsychicPowers their Esper powers]]; the more they use them, the more they get hungry and need food to recover the energy. And since Kurumi tends to be ''very'' gung-ho in regards to her psychic skills...
* ''Manga/KiniroMosaic'':
** GenkiGirl Yoko is probably one, seeing her finished up her lunch before school. That was ''on top'' of breakfast. She's taller and bustier than most of the cast, but is not fat.
** Karen also has some shades of this, in fact, it's even stated she can eat a lot of food without gaining weight.
* ''Manga/KishinDoujiZenki'' has the titular Zenki, a badass Demon Lord who would normally eat the Karma Seeds and probably not a lot more... but since said Seeds aren't always avaliable, he's stuck eating human food. Since he's almost always in a SleepModeSize that looks [[TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody and acts]] like a BrattyHalfPint, this is more often than not PlayedForLaughs.
* Main character Tanikaze from ''Manga/KnightsOfSidonia'' is often teased by the other residents of the Sidonia for having an enormous appetite... at least in their eyes. See, the Sidonia is a GenerationShip, and in order to conserve resources, the inhabitants have all undergone a treatment that allows them to Photosynthesize, like plants. They still need to eat every now and then, but it's not uncommon for someone to go ''an entire week'' without eating anything. Tanikaze, however, never received the treatment because he grew up in an isolated part of the ship, thus he has to keep his energy up the old fashioned way. He does like to eat; indeed his off hours are usually spent either enjoying food or trying to find some, but his appetite isn't ''that'' large.
** He also spent several years living off scraps and canned goods, which probably explains his obsession with cooked meals.
* Nadeshiko of ''Manga/LaidBackCamp'' loves food and can put away huge amounts of it. She shows her appetite twice in the third episode: first by eating dozens of gyoza, then asking Sakura to buy her fried rice, pudding, fried potatoes, chips, cake, ice cream, ''and'' ramen for breakfast, although Sakura only buys her rice balls and tea. Unlike other examples in anime, she was FormerlyFat because of her eating habits and it's been indicated she needs to bike intensely to avoid being overweight.
* In ''Franchise/LupinIII'', Lupin, Jigen and Zenigata are sometimes shown to be this way. In Zenigata's case, it's probably [[JustifiedTrope justified]], since chasing after Lupin must burn more calories than the Insanity Workout.
** ''Anime/TheCastleOfCagliostro'': Lupin demands a ''feast'', because he needs to regain his strength quickly.
** In ''Anime/LupinIIIEpisode0FirstContact'', Inspector Zenigata orders ten hamburgers, and tells his partner that he has to pay for his own order.
* Based on the [[AllThereInTheManual DVD booklets and supplementary manga]], growing mages experiencing TrainingFromHell in ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'' need to eat a lot to replenish energy and {{Mana}}. [[MagicKnight Belkan users]], in particular, burn plenty of calories. Thus, Subaru and Erio tend to really pile on the food during meal time. That said, Subaru and her sister Ginga eat an exaggerated amount even when they're not training, [[spoiler:because their cyborg bodies continuously convert their mana into electricity to supply their extensive internal enhancements with power]].
* Chiaki from ''Manga/{{Magikano}}''. She talks and thinks about food near-constantly, and she fantasizes about living in a GingerbreadHouse full of sweets... however, she exercises near-constantly, too, and says that she likes to exercise even more than she likes to eat.
* Chizuko from ''Manga/{{Mahoromatic}}'' is the smallest of the schoolgirls, yet she has a near-bottomless stomach.
* Hinata from ''Manga/MaidSama'' is both but he lost weight but not his appetite.
* Yako from ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro'' eats insatiably, despite being a small, teenaged girl -- paralleling Neuro's appetite for mysteries. Her ability often helps solve crimes: her stomach is so powerful that she can eat any poison with no ill effects, and she can even taste how much "love" went into preparing the food.
* Nene from the manga ''Maka-Maka''; it's kind of justified since she has relatively low stamina.
* Ako in ''Manga/{{Maomarimo}}''
* Akari's three cats from ''Manga/MarchComesInLikeALion'', most likely due to being spoiled with all the food she gives them, eat a lot of food. ''Ravenously''.
* Kabuto Kouji of ''Anime/MazingerZ'' fame is occasionally shown to be one. In the ''Anime/{{Mazinkaiser}}'' movie, he eats about 10x as much as the rest of the table ''combined'' ([[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vlcsnap-1738084.JPG yes, those dishes are all his]]) before insisting that he's ''still'' hungry.
** Goro Makiba from ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' also counts.
* Shiranui (seen eating a Double-Double-Double) from ''Manga/MedakaBox''; hilarious because she's also a scheming, [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Nabiki Tendô-esque]] little Moe girl.
* Caren from ''Manga/MermaidMelodyPichiPichiPitch'' has been shown to be a BigEater in the anime. She was a jerk about it, too; when Lucia and company were trying to convert her to their cause, she simply used the opportunity to leave them with her bill.
* ''[[Anime/MetalFightBeyblade Beyblade: Metal Fusion]]'' has the main character Gingka. When the World Beyblade Battling Association would grant any one wish to a winner of a Survival Battle Competition, this happens...
-->'''Madoka:''' You're not going to wish for a 10 layer cheeseburger, are you?
-->'''Gingka:''' Of course not, that would be silly.
-->'''Madoka:''' ''(looks relieved)''
-->'''Gingka:''' [[BaitAndSwitchComment I'm gonna wish for a 20 layer cheeseburger!]]
* ''Anime/MiniMoniTheMovieOkashiNaDaiboken'' has Tsuji and Kago, who love to eat Mini Moni Cafe treats. They later weaponize this trait against a cream puff monster.
* Both Kanna and Elma from ''Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid''. Kanna spent the entire BeachEpisode eating progressively larger sea creatures, and Elma is ''always'' thinking about eating [[SweetTooth sweets]]. Elma's spin-off also featured her getting banned from an all-you-can-eat buffet when she ends up eating over 100 plates of food.
* ''Manga/MissKoizumiLovesRamenNoodles'': How is Koizumi able to eat so many bowls of ramen every day?
** When Yuu cooks for her in Chapter 9, Koizumi eats ''five'' whole recipes.
** Note all those ramen dishes she ordered when Jun invited the gang to a Chūka restaurant in Episode 10.
* Akira from ''Manga/MissionsOfLove'' at first was never seen unless he had a snack in hand.
* [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvrc72nfmg1qk46vzo1_500.gif Mitsuba]] from ''Manga/{{Mitsudomoe}}'' has quite the appetite. Case in point, during a party she ate her dinner faster than everyone else. She proceeds to ask for everyone else's food and ate everything she was given. ''And then'' she ate a whole tub of ice cream when she got home later that same night. While she's not really fat, her habits certainly show (must've gotten it from her dad). And she hates it.
* The girls of ''Manga/MonsterMusume'' and ''Manga/DeadlineSummoner.'' Justified in that they are [[CuteMonsterGirl only part-human, and have much larger, more complicated metabolisms and dietary needs.]] Almost ALL of the protagonists' problems originate from acquiring or cooking food -- aside from the usual in-fighting amongst the girls, of course.
* A small running gag in ''Manga/MonthlyGirlsNozakiKun'' is how often Sakura's eating or cares about food, especially sweets and snacks. In the DietEpisode she realizes she's gained weight because she's eaten Nozaki's sweets so often, and Nozaki concludes that he and Sakura became close friends because he's been feeding her. When Sakura attempts to play the bully to Nozaki, she just ends up eating his snacks and then later asks for his hamburger, making Nozaki wonder if this is her way of pestering him. When the two are pretending to be a couple at a cafe, Sakura refuses to take the hint from Mikoshiba to split her cakes and share with Nozaki because she'd rather have them all to herself. When Nozaki loses Sakura and worries about how scared and lonely she is, Mikoshiba snarks that she's snacking on something in all of his {{imagine spot}}s (and hilariously enough she is in fact eating snacks when they find her). And of course, this gag is rather ironic with how tiny she is compared to everyone else.
* Momo in ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' has the power to turn her body fat into anything she wants, and has on occasion been seen eating enormous quantities of food after a mission in order to replace what she lost.
* Mikoto Minagi from ''Anime/MyHime'', and ''both'' Mikotos (the cat and the human) in ''Anime/MyOtome''.
* Reina Izumi from ''LightNovel/MyriadColorsPhantomWorld'' eats like a black hole. She also has the special ability of sealing Phantoms by eating them.
* Thor in ''Manga/MythicalDetectiveLokiRagnarok'' has lots of part-time jobs just so he can afford to eat more.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Uzumaki Naruto. Like Luffy, Naruto never seems to gain any weight from his overeating.
** [[ShrinkingViolet Hyuga Hinata]]. PlayedForLaughs in a ramen-eating contest omake in ''Shippuden'' Episode 95. Later referenced in ''Shippuden'' ending 34, where [[ShipTease she's eating ramen with Naruto]] and neatly eats twice as many bowls as he does, much to his surprise. In Episode 18 of the ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'' anime, it's shown that Hinata has gained the moniker "The Legendary Queen of Gluttony" because she once ate 46 bowls of ramen during a ramen-eating contest (a CallBack to the aforementioned omake), and that was the most out of anyone that's tried: Choji came in second with 42 bowls, and his father Choza came in third with an unknown number of bowls. Even better, the picture on the wall at Ichiraku Ramen shows Hinata in her current look as an adult, meaning that she ate 46 bowls relatively recently.
** Tsunade, after she wakes up from a coma that came from her overexerting her energy to the limits to protect Konoha. Considering the circumstances, [[JustifiedTrope it's rather understandable]].
** Choji, who in a rare case actually intends to get fat from all the eating. His clan's techniques are rooted in utilizing caloric deposits as a source of energy, after all. Though an equally important factor is that he simply loves to eat. This seems to be typical of the Akimichi clan, and it's likely that they developed their clan techniques ''because'' they were such big eaters, rather than eating a lot because of the techniques.
** Anko has a ''massive'' SweetTooth and is constantly eating unhealthy food, especially [[TrademarkFavoriteFood dango]]. [[https://i.stack.imgur.com/LuNGf.jpg A Shonen Jump page about her eating habits]] calculated that Anko ate quadruple the daily calorie intake needed for a woman her age during her debut scene, and that was just a 5-minute snack break. In ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'', this unhealthy diet has caught up with her (presumably due to her lifestyle as an academy teacher in peacetime being a lot less active) and Anko has gotten quite fat.
** In ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'', Chocho Akimichi inherited her father Chōji’s considerable appetite.
* Machi from ''Manga/NagasareteAirantou'' will eat '''anything'''. Except spicy foods.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** [[TheHero Monkey D. Luffy]]. Potentially justified in that A) the fighting he does would require a lot of energy, and B) that his [[RubberMan elasticized]] stomach is capable of storing far, FAR more food than a normal human's. At one point, he wakes up after passing out and instantly knows exactly how many meals he missed, (5 per day, apparently) and later gets around this issue by somehow managing to eat while sleeping.\\\
It's probably also fueling one of the RequiredSecondaryPowers, seeing as he seems to be able to stretch several times the distance of a football-field and is often extremely hungry after any battle, where he always stretches as part of his battle-style. This way of eating also applies to drinking; he can drink so much he should have water-poisoning.
*** To drive the point home, in the very first chapter, we see Luffy eat his Devil Fruit. Devil Fruits are stated and demonstrated as tasting absolutely horrible. Yet Luffy ate his in ''several'' bites, and wilfully ignored the taste because he was hungry.
*** Of course, who ''wouldn't'' be a Big Eater when [[SupremeChef Sanji]] was [[TeamChef the one cooking]]?
*** One real comic example comes at the end of the Alabasta arc. Just after waking up, Igaram's wife Terracotta brings in a large tray of fruit to tide Luffy over until dinner. ''[[FreezeFrameBonus Two frames]]'' later, Luffy's there in the same position as before, but ''all the fruit's gone''.
*** Taken UpToEleven in the Impel Down arc, where he spends two days locked in a room fighting off Magellan's poison; when he finally succeeds, Ivankov and the other refugees have to throw him five days worth of food, which he devours in minutes. (As in, five days worth for the whole Newkama colony.) Justified, possibly, because fighting off the poison was hardly easy. (Ivanakov didn't expect him to survive, placing the -- enhanced -- chances at about 2%.)
*** According to his brother Ace, if Luffy were to join the Marines as his grandfather [[spoiler:Garp]] wished, his eating habits would be a bigger problem for them than fighting pirates.
*** The only time he ever felt full enough that he was tired of having to eat more was during the Totto Island arc, in which the biggest heavy hitters were packing extremely powerful food-based Devil Fruits that made devouring endless amounts of crackers/mochi the only way out of several predicaments. By the end of the arc he had devoured several armies' worth of huge cracker golems and enough mochi to drown a giant.
** The above-mentioned Ace also counts for an example unto himself. He's introduced sitting at a restaurant counter piled with ''dozens'' of scraped-clean dishes, having passed out in the latest one -- before he wakes up and resumes eating ''even more.'' Judging by anime-only content, Sabo shares this trait as well.
** There was also the time at the end of the Alabasta arc that Chopper and Zoro joined in on stuffing their faces. The entire crew was starving after their ordeal, so this was at least explainable. But Luffy still topped them all, to the point he stole food off other people's plates...until Usopp poured the juice from his [[BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce Tabasco Star]] onto a rice ball and let Luffy eat it, forcing him to pause [[FireBreathingDiner as he spewed flame]].
** Jewelry Bonney would count as well, her appetite putting Luffy's to shape; the trope's name is her RedBaron. Unfortunately, [[JabbaTableManners her table manners are horrible.]]
** As would Kumadori of [=CP9=]. Due to his [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower intense training,]] he has the ability to [[MasterOfYourDomain control his body to a much further extent than ordinary humans can]]. The most prominent ability of his is PrehensileHair, but the trope-related one is that after being locked in a fridge, he ate everything in it before busting his way out. By the time he escaped, he had digested all of the food, causing his figure to change considerably, then he took a few seconds to just burn off all that fat effortlessly.
** The most extreme example from ''Manga/OnePiece'' would be [[AdiposeRex Wapol]], who has eaten a Devil Fruit that allows him to ''[[ExtremeOmnivore eat anything]]!'' Every time he's seen, the only thing near is other people or he's eating something, including things like houses or cannons. Also, he eats [[ImAHumanitarian other people]] if he wants to. When the Straw Hats first meet him, he starts munching on their ship. When he got his own cover-story, he was eating ''entire villages''. He can even eat himself, [[ItRunsOnNonsensoleum which makes him skinnier]].
** [[spoiler:Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom of the Four Emperors. She eats '''10 TONNES''' of candy every month from Fishman Island ''alone''. She'll even eat [[ImAHumanitarian her own subordinates]] if she gets hungry enough and unlike Wapol, these guys [[CruelAndUnusualDeath stay eaten]]. And it seems she's had a ''major'' issue with eating ''all her life''. As in when she was just a kid, extreme hunger attacks made her [[UnstoppableRage crazed enough]] '''''to kill giants!''''']]
** A nicer female example is the anime-only [[MeaningfulName Lily Ensotmach]], her appetite being the biggest reason for her quick report with Luffy. Justified because she's actually a giant who can assume human-size due to her ''Mini Mini no Mi'' Devil Fruit power. She even uses a dinner fork as her weapon of choice, as she can cause anything she touches to grow and shrink along with her.
* Aisha Clan-Clan and apparently all Ctarl-Ctarls from ''Anime/OutlawStar''. In the first episode showing her tangle with the heroes, she's seen vigorously stuffing her face at a restaurant, including chugging multiple bowls of stew--each of which were large enough to feed a table of four. Her appetite happens to fuel her super-strength and ability to turn into a feral tiger-creature, and she can be weakened by not eating. Her food tabs are a pretty sizable addition to the crew's financial woes.
* Honey from ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'' can eat three entire cakes even after a full meal. It's also revealed that, once a week, he eats five cakes as a midnight snack, and later in the episode he decides to do so three times a week instead. Being a national martial arts champion could explain how he stays lean.
* Stocking from ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt'' really loves eating anything, [[SweetTooth especially sweets]].
* Count D of ''Manga/PetShopOfHorrors'', scarily enough, can sugar-binge L under the table.
* ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'':
** [[TrueCompanions Ash and his friends]] have been known to fall into this category every now and then, usually when sitting down to an extravagant meal put on by some gracious host. (Or from Brock, later Cilan, then Clemont and Serena, then Mallow) who fill the role of the TeamChef [[SupremeChef and are very good at it.]])
** Ash definitely falls under this. Most episodes he complains that he's hungry, one of the [[RunningGag running gags]] is his stomach always growling (Misty would often go, "Not again!" at this. Later on when this happens, both Brock and May remark that "some things never change"). When he gets food, he ''really'' stuffs himself. This has been [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] on a number of occasions. The beginning of one of the Johto episodes has him suffering from a belly-ache due to eating too much, and after about 400-something episodes, gets his first BalloonBelly scene in Sinnoh.
** Despite how much she teases Ash for it, May might actually be worse. [[BerserkButton And Arceus help you]] [[LostFoodGrievance if you try to take her share.]] On another occasion, she was even bribed with her favorite food (noodles) to help settle a family squabble that Ash and company would otherwise steer clear of.
** Team Rocket, when they're lucky enough to have enough to pig out on. Once resulted in a [[TemporaryBulkChange fat episode]] where they had to work it off.
** The Pokémon themselves are not exempt from this. Dawn's Piplup was frequently hungry, and Clemont's Chespin is such a glutton that, like Team Rocket, he had his own [[TemporaryBulkChange fat episode]]. Ash's Oshawott also had a tendency to steal food from other Pokémon when he ran out of his own food, usually from poor Tepig/Pignite.
* Diamond from ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'' falls into this category ''all the time'', rarely being seen without something in his mouth. Rather ironic considering his game counterpart Lucas' most prominent physical characteristic is being [[NoodlePeople so skinny as to be downright emaciated-looking]]. While he is not obese, he has [[ArtEvolution gotten a bit chubbier throughout the arc]].
* Both Hareta and his dad, Kaisei, from ''Manga/PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure''. Maybe it's hereditary? And, incidentally, Hareta is based off Lucas, like Diamond is.
* Takeshi Momoshiro and Ryoma Echizen from ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis''. Their friends and teammates shudder at the mere thought of having them tag along for burgers.
* Hatsune from ''Manga/PsychicSquad'' eats a whole lot, preferably anything with animal protein, which comes part and parcel with her [[VoluntaryShapeshifter ability to transform into a wolf]].
* One of the few cases when this is NOT PlayedForLaughs is Kyouko Sakura from ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'', who eats a lot [[spoiler:because of her FreudianExcuse: her family fell into poverty after her Christian Minister father was excommunicated, so they had almost nothing to eat for a long while. After said father lost his mind and then went the PaterFamilicide route, Kyouko likely spent some time destitute as well. It's likely she still is -- she can't honestly tell Sayaka where she gets her food from. Being a very powerful MagicalGirl with no qualms about being an [[JerkAss asshole]] it's likely she steals the food.]]
* ''Manga/TheQuintessentialQuintuplets'': Itsuki Nakano LOVES to eat. In the first chapter alone, she orders a seven-course meal [[note]]''udon'' noodles, double shrimp tempura, sweet potato, grilled squid, ''kashiwa-ten'', and pudding for dessert[[/note]] costing over 1000 yen ($9) overall for a ''school lunch''. She's usually seen munching on something at least once per chapter, and it frequently gets played up for ButtMonkey gags in omake chapters (and occasionally the regular ones). [[spoiler:She apparently inherited this trait from her biological father, Mudou]].
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' plays with this trope a bit.
** Ranma Saotome is a borderline case; he does eat large meals, and is willing to swindle or steal food if particularly hungry, but the fights he gets into presumably burn a lot of calories and his meals aren't exceptional by ordinary standards. When he's been really pushing himself, however, he eats a lot more to recover (one anime episode has him consume five heaped bowls of rice after spending 72 straight hours doing nothing but train), and he can put away an impressive amount of food if pressed (an anime episode has him consume four full-course meals as part of a contest).
** The OAV ''Akane and Her Sisters'' introduces Kurumi "Tendô", who puts all Big Eaters in the series to shame. Despite being a small girl, she can wolf down a record amount of food faster than any martial artist. She's also an ExtremeOmnivore, able to eat LethalChef Akane's cooking -- and ask for more.
** There's also minor character Picolet Chardin II of the "La Belle France School of Martial Arts", which specializes in martial arts gourmet dining. Of course, one of the requirements of this form of martial arts is that you have an unusually flexible and large mouth capable of eating so fast you can't appear to be eating at all. By the standards of his school, being seen eating is considered "inelegant". Picolet, and others who specialize in this form of battle, are able to put away full course meals as if they were a light snack. Picolet once devoured an entire table of food and his instructor bemoaned that he had virtually no appetite anymore.
* This is the defining trait of Sara and Tia in ''Anime/RegaliaTheThreeSacredStars''. It's even in the opening! Their proper introduction in the show involves them doing "forced labor" after eating more than they could pay for.
* Kiruko-san from ''Manga/RookiePolicewomanKirukoSan'' eats dozens of melon-breads and guzzles down sweets and ramen in only a few seconds.
* André from ''Manga/TheRoseOfVersailles'', at least according to Oscar. Though he ''is'' at least once shown eating apples rather... epically.
* Usagi (and sometimes Chibiusa) from ''Anime/SailorMoon''. Only one episode early in the first season ever concerned itself with her possible weight gain and that was dealt with as a CompressedVice. ''WebVideo/SailorMoonAbridged'' plays this aspect up as a RunningGag, where Usagi is constantly called fat even though her character design is far from it. Her younger brother Shingo was sometimes said to be this too [[FridgeBrilliance which makes sense]] since as an adolescent he's got some growth spurts to fuel (one of which appears to begin at the start of the second season).
** In the manga, Minako. She started out as a normal glutton (if {{Justified}} in part by [[PassionateSportsGirl her many sporting activities]]), but at one point she started to get fat due the latest Dark Agency plot involving chocolate and she reacted with insane amounts of exercise, and, as she never stopped and even put up some ''muscles'', has to eat ''more'' to fuel that.
* In ''AudioPlay/SaintBeast'', whenever there's lots of food around Gai tends to stock up his plate immediately.
* The Son Goku (AKA the Sun Wukong) in ''Manga/{{Saiyuki}}''. Sanzo suggests this is justified because [[spoiler:Goku was locked up in a cave for 500 years without food.]]
** Funny enough, this is similar to one of the original characters from which Hakkai was based off of....and there's also the aforementioned Goku from ''Dragon Ball'' to tie up even more coincidences.
* Fuu of ''Anime/SamuraiChamploo''. She outdid every other contestant in a eating contest including fellow good eater Mugen, except for one, and only lost because of an unfortunate mistake she committed, accidentally signalling that she conceded when she actually had plenty of room for more. A rare example of this trope, her appearance changes according to what she's had to eat recently. Usually she's slim and flat-chested, but after going all out on free food she gets {{Gonk}} levels of [[BalloonBelly lard on her]], only to lose it in a matter of hours, and start complaining again how hungry she is. Her metabolism is a frightening thing to behold.\\\
Although it's presented as a sight gag, in one episode a group of thugs were searching for her because she had been spending counterfeit money her group stumbled upon in the woods, but by the time they crossed paths with her, she had bought enough food that she no longer resembled her original description. Fuu actually felt a little insulted when they overlooked her, but she knew well enough to take advantage of her temporary blessing and went further into hiding.
* Kikuchiyo from ''Anime/SamuraiSeven''; however, he ''is'' both the largest of the seven and, well, a cyborg.
* ''Manga/SchoolRumble'' has a downplayed example in Mikoto Suoh, whose friends describe her as easily polishing off three burgers in one sitting.
* Tamama in ''Manga/SgtFrog'' has, on countless occasions, been shown eating an amount of sweet and snack foods that's bigger than he is.
* Manga/SquidGirl absolutely loves shrimp and in one episode manages to polish off 10,000 yen's worth of shrimp in one sitting. Taken to ridiculous extremes in the "Mini Ika" episode, in which she devours shrimps ''several times her own size'' in a matter of seconds. Apparently she's able to adjust her own body mass at will, which explains why she doesn't get fat.
* Momoko from ''Shoujo Sect''; just ''look'' at all those burgers she has in Episode 3!
* Everyone in ''Manga/SilverSpoon''. Justified in that all the characters are high school-age teenagers at an agricultural school, whose usual day consists of eight hours of farm work, two hours of P.E. a couple of hours of club activities and whatever antics they get up to on their own. The booth owners at the local festival feeding the cast plays out like something from ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar''.
* ''Manga/SketDance'''s Chiaki Takahasi, Captain of the Kaimei High Softball Team, will eat absolutely anything and everything, as long as it's edible, IN RECORD TIME. Okay, ''almost'' everything. She has a weakness to eggs, which she absolutely despises.
* ''Manga/SkipBeat'' has Kuu Hizuri. His appetite is infamous, and when Kyoko gets hired to cook proper, Kyoto cuisine for him, she quickly learns to cater to his stomach. Not only does she prepare a meal big enough to feed 50 people to satisfy Kuu, but also to cut simply a slice of a cake for herself and the rest of the cake for Kuu himself to eat.
* Kumoko from ''LightNovel/SoImASpiderSoWhat'' eats pretty much anything she can kill (given that starvation is a very real risk for her), and can consume many times her own mass in one go. She's a bit mystified as to how that works until she discovers that the excess is stored away magically.
* Ragnarok from ''Manga/SoulEater'' seems to be this. He steals his meister Crona's food and constantly demands that Crona feed him more.
* Tadashi from ''Manga/SpecialA'' is nearly always seen stuffing his face. Good thing [[spoiler:his girlfriend's]] a SupremeChef.
* Yuko from ''S.S. Astro''. She brings multi-level bento to school everyday, and eats after every class.
* Wako Agemaki from ''Anime/StarDriver'' gets hungry easily and is never once seen to turn down food or a chance at a meal.
* Rather bizarrely, Ryu in ''VideoGame/StreetFighter V: The Animated Series''. The series essentially transplants the canon Ryu's personality and installs that of an atypical Shonen [[TheHero Hero]], including the voracious appetite.
* ''Manga/SwapSwap'':
** Yume is frequently shown eating large amounts without concern for gaining weight. When Natsuko visits her house (as Haruko) she brings in a huge cake and plans on eating ''at least'' half. In cooking class, she has a substantially bigger portion than the others get after everything's done because otherwise it wouldn't be enough. Haruko's reaction to discovering this trait is to wonder if it's possible to [[FreakyFridayFlip switch bodies with Yume the way she does Natsuko]].
** Haruko has the desire, if not the ability. She initiated a body swap with Natsuko simply to be able to eat Natusko's cooking twice and Natsuko stops her from trying to swap with Yume by promising take her to a lunch buffet and swap so she can eat as much as she wants. Haruko further insists on Natsuko wearing loose clothing that won't constrict her stomach.
* Nero Yuzurizaki from ''Anime/TanteiOperaMilkyHolmes'' can plow through many a fish sausage all at once.
* Midori from ''Anime/TelepathyShoujoRan'', who can hold her own in the fiercest of eating contests.
* It's only once made a plot point, but any time Simon or Kamina of ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' sit down to eat, they generate a tremendous pile of dishes. Kamina even declares that "A man's stomach knows no limit!" in [[HotSpringsEpisode Episode 6]]. [[BalloonBelly It shows]], too.
** In Episode 4, it's shown that they have to eat something in order to generate Spiral Power. They survive the [[MonsterOfTheWeek enemy for that the episode]] only because [[spoiler: Boota willingly tears off his own tail and hindquarters to feed the two]].
* Futaba of ''Manga/ThreeLeavesThreeColors''. When Teru comments on how the pile of bread she bought from the cafeteria is just as usual for her, Futaba retorts that ''she's actually holding back''. Later on in the same episode she lunches on a whole loaf of white bread, ''unsliced'', as she thinks slicing is too much trouble.
* Itto and Mayu from ''Manga/{{Tokko}}'' eat constantly, even right at the beginning of a battle.
* Rize Kamishiro from ''Manga/TokyoGhoul'' eats so much she was nicknamed Big/Binge Eater in canon.
* A chapter of ''Manga/TorakoAnmariKowashichaDameDaYo'' opens with everyone eating lunch on the rooftop together. Takano looks down and realizes Torako is literally ''surrounded'' by food. Torako says she eats so much that her older brother has compared her to an American car and quite doesn't grasp that wasn't meant as a complement.
* ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'':
** The eponymous Toriko embodies this trope and then some. A meal that could satisfy 500 people only filled him up 1/10. ONE TENTH, for a 500 man feast. Though this is kind of typical, as he has ridiculous amounts of strength and endurance, and he originally was [[spoiler:a hybridized animal.]]
*** In the first chapter, after Komatsu asks Toriko to help him capture a Gararagator, the two of them head to the docks and have one of Toriko's friends sail them to the island. Along the way, Toriko digs into numerous meals. Komatsu shouts that he's been eating endlessly for '''six straight hours.'''
** Zebra actually managed to eat [[spoiler:26 ''species'' into ''extinction''.]]
** The reason so many in this series are big eaters are due to having a unique cell in their bodies which increases their power, but these cells impart a LogicalWeakness: they also radically increase their appetite and energy (i.e calories) demands. Toriko needs ''100,000 calories'', 50 times that of a normal human, to function day to day. He can hold millions of calories in his body but if he doesn't eat at all for even a day [[BodyHorror his body may start eating itself.]]
** PlayedForDrama with Midora. His nonstop eating is actually [[ComfortFood a futile attempt to eat away the pain of losing the person he loved most in the world.]] Nonstop isn't an exaggeration -- an entire ecosystem is supported by the ''leftovers'' of his huge feasts. He even eats while fighting, since he basically fights by eating everything around him.
* Momoka in ''VisualNovel/ToukaGettan''. She first meets a couple of characters by ''eating their lunches''.
* Legato Bluesummers from ''Manga/{{Trigun}}'' is a relatively rare villain example. WordOfGod says that this was intended to be a humorous character trait, but also serves to make him ''creepy'' depending on [[ImAHumanitarian the context of the meal]].
* ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'' has quite many characters who are this (Cherry, for example, can casually eat four large watermelons before having problems, and mentions he would eat more when he was young. And Ataru is not far behind him), but Sakura and Rei are well above the rest:
** Sakura regularly puts away GIGANTIC servings of food, and despite that never loses her swimsuit model figure. This is first displayed in an eating challenge in Hawaii, where, despite having taken special diet pills, she effortlessly completes an eating challenge, to the point of forcing the restaurant to shut down permanently due to eating all of the food and sending them bankrupt from buying new ingredients, not to mention sending the cook staff weeping in utter defeat. In the anime version, this culminates in her not only asking for dessert (after having polished off a final course consisting of, in order, a whole roast turkey, a whole roast ''pig'' and '''''A WHOLE ROAST COW'''''), but then asking for the teens who didn't attend to bring her some Chinese food when they fetch dinner. In the manga, she goes to take a nap in the pool after the contest is over, causing the inflatable mattress she rested on to sink, despite not having gotten the BalloonBelly that Ataru and her uncle Cherry had received from their participation in the eating contest.
** Rei, Lum's handsome ex-fiance, is a non-stop eating machine who is hardly ever seen not stuffing his face, or looking for eats, and he reveres anyone who brings him food... or whatever can even be considered food. He ''did'' lose his potato eating contest with Ataru, but that's because he had already stuffed himself beforehand, and poor Ataru nearly ''died'' attempting to match him to avoid being shot.
*** And during the contest Rei transformed in a huge monster to eat more food, so that the ''thin'' label was lost.
* Kid Muscle from ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'', who typically pigs out on cow and rice.
* Eriko Hara from ''Venus Project: Climax''.
* Kyohei from ''Manga/TheWallflower'' is often heard asking where there is food, when the group is going to eat, or otherwise demanding Sunako, the SupremeChef girl that lives with him and his friends, to make something. At one point in the story he travels cross country using the money he wins from eating contests.
* Lasse the goose from ''Literature/TheWonderfulAdventuresOfNils'' has an enormous appetite.
* ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'' has [[SupremeChef Sumire]], [[JustifiedTrope justified]] since she eats much (and mixes ramen with coffee!) to test the local food to improve her own ramen.
* Shizuka Doumeki from ''Manga/XxxHolic'' is not only a BigEater, but he's an extraordinarily ''[[PickyEater picky]]'' one at that. Apart from demanding stupidly difficult-to-make dishes from [[SupremeChef Watanuki]], he also adamantly refuses to eat anything made by someone he doesn't know or approve of. (His grandfather Haruka mentioned that it was nearly impossible to take him out to any restaurants because of this.)
* The eponymous Manga/{{Yaiba}}, together with Gerozaemon and Musashi, especially Musashi, during the firsts arc. Musashi in his first appearence was able to steal and devour a whole roasted boar in about two panels or so.
** This was used by the Spiderman to tend a trap to them twice. And [[RuleOfFunny they fell for it twice!]].
* Nozomi, Rin, Urara, and Karen from ''Anime/YesPrecure5''. (For those of you playing along at home, this is '''half the main cast''', and four of the titular five.) Karen is something of an unusual example, as unlike most [[BigEater Big Eaters]] she eats calmly at a normal pace. Urara is normally the undisputed queen, but Rin and Karen can both out-eat her when they feel it necessary (i.e. when they're trying to out-eat ''each other''). Also, Komachi was a big eater when she was younger.
* Natsumi Tsujimoto and Shoji Tokairin from ''Manga/YoureUnderArrest''.
* Hime from ''Manga/YozakuraQuartet'' is often accused of this although she loses an eating contest at one point.
* ''Anime/YuGiOh'':
** Jounouchi Katsuya: "Keep your hands and feet away from his mouth!"
** Bakura also tends to eat a lot. [[https://33.media.tumblr.com/fca6b4a613ae307918e55beb6a2b8afb/tumblr_n0egavYD4T1trlkhuo1_250.gif Seen here with meat-on-a-stick in one hand and spaghetti in the other, with a napkin tucked into his shirt like a super-classy person.]] Yet according to [[WordOfGod the official factbook]], he's 5'9" and 114 lbs, which would mean he's actually underweight. This is implied to be just because he doesn't get regular meals; in one scene in the Memory World arc, [[http://sxliari.tumblr.com/post/90680805409/im-so-hungry he almost passes out from hunger]].
* In ''Anime/YuGiOhArcV'', Sora is ''always'' eating, having extra portions at meals and snacking on candy while watching others duel. (Unfortunately, until [[EvilAllalong his true nature is revealed]], along with [[ChildSoldiers the reason for his appetite]], he tends to mooch meals off Yuya's mother a lot.)
* ''Anime/YukiYunaIsAHero'':
** Fu can eat four bowls of udon in one sitting and still be hungry in a few hours.
** Yuna's FairyCompanion Gyuuki has a tendency to try and eat everything he can, including other fairy companions. Incidentally, he looks like a bull.
* Demons in ''Manga/ZatchBell'' eat their food whole, and several times their size at that. Main character Gash is no exception, often eating poor hapless yellowtail tuna alive immediately after catching one.
* The Legendary Yamada Tae from ''Anime/ZombielandSaga'' is the only one of the zombies to not regain her intelligence in the first episode. Naturally, much trouble results from her trying to eat everything in sight, though she slowly learns to restrain herself as the show goes on.

!!Fat Characters
* [[BigBad Prime]] [[EvilChancellor Minister]] [[IronicName Honest]] from ''Manga/AkameGaKill'' is always seen eating. He claims it's [[PostStressOvereating due to stress]], but like [[ConsummateLiar everything else he says]], it's a total lie. He's a bloated and grotesque [[TheHedonist hedonist]] who simply enjoys basking in his own wealth and corruption.
* Buccha from ''Manga/AirGear'' is a rare DoubleSubversion. He eats a lot, and appears to be tremendously fat. However, he's only got about 6% body fat; his appearance is due to [[ArtisticLicenseBiology blood pooling in his stomach from overeating]]. When he exerts himself, the blood goes to his muscles, and his ridiculously sculpted body is revealed.
* ''Manga/DetectiveConan'':
** Conan's friend Genta Kojima is quite portly for an elementary school kid, and he's often seen eating or complaining about how hungry he is.
** Also, more than one victim is pretty pudgy and a big eater. [[spoiler: Like the "Baumkuchen" case, in which a fat man is killed via being tricked into eating a piece of his favorite pastry... which had poison.]]
* All of the Baikins from ''Franchise/{{Anpanman}}''. They have well-defined stocky bodies and use dirty tactics to get food out of people, often demanding refill after refill.
* [[spoiler: Kirio Hikifune]] from ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', and in her case it's justified as she has to bulk up to recharge [[LifeEnergy her reiatsu]]. Plus, she's also a ChefOfIron and her [[spoiler: Gate]] is nicknamed "Palace of Food", since she uses her reiatsu to cook her [[SupremeChef really delicious]] {{Power Up Food}}s. [[spoiler: And it's subverted later; if Hikifune uses up ''all'' of her reiatsu... she temporarily slims down and goes from a BigFun lady to a total babe who resembles ''[[MsFanservice Matsumoto]]'', of all people.]]
* Chang aka Cyborg 006 from ''Manga/Cyborg009''.He's a restaurateur with his own business on top of that, and that he also worked in the food industry before being turned into a Cyborg. Furthermore, his Cyborg ability ([[PlayingWithFire fire breathing]]) ''helps'' in his line of work.
* Yajirobe, the overweight samurai in ''Manga/DragonBall''. He managed to kill and eat Piccolo's giant, dragonesque minion Cymbal, ''and still wanted more'' (he got upset when Goku's kamehameha burned Tambourine to cinders; there was nothing left for him to eat). Then he started chowing down on Korin's senzu beans to the old cat's shock. ''One'' senzu is supposed to keep you full ''for ten days''. Yajirobe munched on them like popcorn.
* Kurita from ''Manga/Eyeshield21''. The man ate 100 cream puffs on one occassion. In an Omake, Kurita ate 4 bowls of rice that are stacked to tower way above the bowl itself with enough food there to feed a large family. '''That's his breakfast.'''
* Gluttony [[OurHomunculiAreDifferent of the homunculi.]] from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist''. True to his name, he's willing to eat anything or [[ImAHumanitarian anyone]]. He represents [[SevenDeadlySins the deadly sin]] [[ExtremeOmnivore he's named after]], and after [[spoiler: eating him, Pride states having adopted among Gluttony's other abilities his endless hunger.]] It's understandable though, since Gluttony is originally a part of [[spoiler:Father, who wanted to become [[GodhoodSeeker the perfect being]] by getting rid of the said feelings by giving them to his "children".]] So, in a way, Gluttony is actually the AnthropomorphicPersonification of "Big Eating".
* Ryu from ''[[Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman Gatchaman]]'', but even more so his ''Anime/BattleOfThePlanets'' counterpart Tiny.
* Bob from ''Anime/{{Gungrave}}'' is constantly seen eating, usually a drumstick of chicken, and while he is shown as skinny when first introduced in the past, he steadily grows more rotund over the series as his habits catch up with him. After the series returns to the present, [[spoiler: it's revealed that he ate so much as to suffer a cholesterol problem that would have killed him or left him a mindless vegetable on life-support if he hadn't become a Superior]].
* Twin sisters Miyako and Tomoki from ''Manga/IsKichijojiTheOnlyPlaceToLive'' are this. They always order giant portions for themselves when they treat their clients to a bite to eat.
* Mogutan from ''Anime/KamisamaMinaraiHimitsuNoCocotama'' is rather gluttonous due to being a god of hunger and being born from a fork that the Yotsuba family enjoyed using to eat. It is rare for him to go an entire episode without eating or talking about food.
* The rather chubby principal of Chiaki's school in ''Manga/KishinDoujiZenki'' is introduced trying to steal a bit of food from the school cafeteria and being comically scolded by the head cook. [[spoiler: This is foreshadowing of how he's later BrainwashedAndCrazy by the Karma Seeds, which temporarily transform him into a VillainousGlutton. When he recovers he's back to his kindhearted original self -- and keeps his appetite.]]
* ''Anime/MegaManNTWarrior'' has Lan Hikari, who for example is known to chow down on hot dogs.
* From Anime/MetalFightBeyblade, there's Benkei, who is commonly seen with a mountain of burgers next to him.
* Akimichi Chouji from ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', due to his clan's fighting style[[note]]Using their most powerful technique turns them thin, but they have to eat a lot to bulk up and use it again.[[/note]] (and possibly genetics, his dad Chouza is similarly built). Also, being called fat triggers his BerserkButton:
-->'''Chouji:''' I'M NOT FAT! [[IAmBigBoned I'M BIIIIIIIG BOOOOOOOOOOONEEEEEEEEEEED!]]
* In ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'', the S-Class superhero Pig God is a big eater and is always seen eating.
* In ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'' there's Kei Tanishi from the Higa team. Big, [[FatBastard mean]], with the physique of a Sumo wrestler, and able to put away HUGE amounts of food. Seeing him eat yakiniku made ''Fuji'' lose his appetite, and that's saying much.
* Genma Saotome from ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' is referred to in the series as a glutton, and he seems unable to resist stealing and eating any bit of food that he comes across. His actual girth, however, seems to be more one part [[StoutStrength stocky build]] to one part [[LimitedWardrobe wearing nothing but a baggy old gi]] to one part [[BalefulPolymorph turning into a big fat panda when splashed with cold water]].
* Kamiya from ''Anime/SpeedGrapher'', to absolutely ''grotesque'' levels.
* Chihiro's parents in ''Anime/SpiritedAway'' definitely count as this. They see a buffet, sit down and start stuffing their faces. When Chihiro returns a few minutes later they've eaten everything on the table and are about four times as big. And they've transformed into pigs. To be fair, it was ''magical'' food ''and'' the Ogino family had been on the road for hours so they probably were already more tired and far hungrier than they'd normally be.
* The title character of ''Anime/{{Wowser}}''.
