His army of reanimated corpses has since been swelled with dinosaurs enslaved to his command. Several other Epics joined his faction solely on the promise of dinosaur pets.

** Shiny Sparkle also wears a pair of colored sunglasses. The fact that she can casually blow people up and has the power to make everything sparkle helps her to pull it of better.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler:Timeport, a [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin teleporter able to travel through time]], teleports ''inside of a teenage boy,'' exploding him from the inside out. Later, he uses a piece of paper to decapitate and de-limb a man.]]

* DarkIsEvil: Even taking aside the choice of his wardrobe, Nighthound's powers have this trope covered by emitting a black mist like substance. The evil part comes with the territory of being an Epic.

* TheDragon: Nighthound´s status in Lightwards empire of Light. Nighthound more or less does what Lightwards asks him to do but his reason fot doing so is that Lightwards pays him with dinosaurs for things he would enjoy anyway not any kind of loyality. If they weren´t involved in the turf war Nighthound wouldn´t even humor him that much.

* ForTheEvulz: Nighthound´s Raison d’être, the guy slaughters innocents and Epics alike with no proper reason and that´s not even going into all his other atrocities, also all committed for no other reason.

* FromASingleCell: Lightwards is capable to resurrect himself and anything else this way, be it a drop of blood, a steak, his dinosaur leather jacket or a splinter from a tree.
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: The amount of injuries inflicted to Nighthound range from simple stab wounds up to an exploded rib cage and being covered in acid. In fact his own powers tend to tear his muscles and break his bones near constantly.

* HopeCrusher
** Nighthound. [[spoiler:One of his first POV scenes shows him thinking about how much he loves to crush his victims' hope spots. He then proceeds to enslave an author whose only crime appeared to be [[DisproportionateRetribution lack of research]], after taunting him with a vague promise of "redemption."]]
** Ringmaster. [[spoiler:Although his mind control powers kept his victims in line, he also seemed to value pushing people over the [[DespairEventHorizon edge]] to maintain his grip.]]

** Altermind, a telepathic illusionist whose illusions of pain are all too real;
** Saccharine, whose short-range object teleportation can get messy

* MeaningfulRename: As in the [[Literature/TheReckonersTrilogy source material,]] all Epics take on a new name fitting their powers, theme etc.
* MixAndMatchCritters: [[TheBeastmaster Chimera]] uses his powers to create these, sometimes he recreates mythical creatures other times he just does whatever.

* NighInvulnerability: A couple of Epics can only be harmed when their weaknesses is in effect, for example Corpsemaker.
* NightmareFetishist: Nighthound. For just about every sign of vulnerability a woman shows, ranging from fear to futile attempts to struggle against him and inflicting physical injury.
* OrderVersusChaos: Currently averted with Thoughttown and the empire. It´s bound to happen after they dealt with Corpsemaker though.

* PersonOfMassDestruction: A couple of Epics qualify, ironically for an roleplay that gathered with the goal of destroying Oregon a rather small number of Epics actually have power that causes a lot of property damage.

* CoolShades: Inverted with the character Backtrack. He tends to ''think'' his pair of bright pink sunglasses make him look manly, but everyone else thinks he looks like a dork.
** Shiny Sparkle also wears a pair of colored sunglasses. The fact that she can casually blow people up and has the power to make everyting sparkle helps her to pull it of better.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Most of the vanilla characters, and a few Epics as well.
* DeadlyGaze: Corpsemaker, one of the most feared Epics in Portland.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Fairly common. A number of characters who have been only sparsely referenced in canon have achieved a surprising degree of popularity among the players. Newcomers to the RP may be confused by frequent references to Earl Greyback, the Tennessee Sibyl, and Möbius, queen of Calamityville.

* FieryRedhead: Played straight with Ray.

Her supervillainy would put ComicBook/LexLuthor and his reliance on [[KryptoniteFactor pretty rocks]] to shame.

** Les Yay to be specific, with Shiny Sparkle crushing on Autumn and openly starting to flirt, hugs included.
** Jude and his [[spoiler: not actually dead]] boyfriend Chris. Feels.

* KnightTemplar: Paladin is probably the most obvious with his Templar tendencies, though Altermind demonstrates a good bit of this as well.
* KryptoniteFactor: Every Epic has a weakness that acts as their personal Kryptonite.

* MagnificentBastard: Reader became this during his conversation with Backtrack, though he still remains a JerkWithAHeartOfJerk.

* NightmareFuel: The RP is rife with nightmare fuel, but there are several outstanding examples, such as...
** Koschei's method of blackmail. In one definitive and especially nightmarish example, he slits a toddler's throat, heals her, and then threatens to withdraw his healing power and let the child bleed to death unless the family does as he wishes.
** Nighthound's "Domestication". His victims are enslaved to his will and forced to do whatever he pleases, but they are fully conscious as they carry out his despicable orders. To top it off, the Hounds generally aren't gifted Nighthound's healing factor, so they are forced to experience excruciating pain when their bodies are torn apart, without being able to stop.
** The horror vanillas experience upon seeing their friends, neighbors, and family transformed into mindless Warriors of Light, extensions of Lightwards' delusional mind. This is especially poignant when the new Warriors are turned against their former associates. In one horrendous situation, a family's beloved dog was resurrected and made to rip out his owners' throats.
** The plight of The Panda's pandas. These were once thinking, living human beings. Against their will, their flesh and mind were warped to the Panda's desires.
** Timeport's tendency to use his teleportation directly against his enemies' bodies. In one situation, he teleported his hand inside someone's chest, then teleported back out, taking the man's heart with him.
** The time BusDriver shoved a pebble down someone's mouth and transformed it into a bus, crushing the hapless man.
** Nighthound in general. He is depraved, perverted, and sadistic beyond human comprehension.
** Altermind's ability to cause illusions of enormous pain that feel all too real.
** Iconoclast in general, but especially his ghouls.
** Refill's ability to overfill the veins/arteries of his victims with blood, causing them to pop.
** Saccharine's amiable cannibalism.
** Much, much more.
* NoYay: Every scene between Nighthound and Ray is full of this. Red/Nighthound, though the, er, ''feelings'' are mutual, is also made of No Yay.
