The people from the red universe are DarkerAndEdgier compared to their counterparts from the blue universe, who are the main characters of the series. The Bishops tend to be an exception in many ways, [[spoiler:which makes particular sense in Peter's case since he's originally from the red universe anyway]]. There are some subtle clues and hints throughout the show that emphasise this; for example, the Statue of Liberty in the "blue" universe is its usual oxidised green colour, whereas in the "red" universe it has retained its original copper appearance.
