However, the anime nerfed it so it would have the same effect as its real life counterpart - if attacked while in Defense Mode, it will switch to Attack Mode. Arkana could have attacked Big Shield Gardna with Dark Magician then finished it off with Doll of Demise, wiping out Yugi's Life Points, but he and many other Duelists afterwards would always ignore its weakness and instead either leave it on the field until Yami/Yugi needed to Tribute it or they had something powerful enough to destroy it in Defense Mode, simply due to the fact that it was impossible the manga.
