Emily grudgingly sets off with Whiff, but is ridiculed by Gordon, Henry and James along the way. Because of this, she decides to run away from Whiff, but everywhere she goes, Whiff always finds her. She manages to lose him when she sees an impatient Spencer in front of some rubbish trucks. Emily asks the other engines to help move them, but they refuse, and Emily realizes Whiff is the only one who will. After finding him among some trucks, the two pull the trucks out of Spencer's way so he can finally get through. Now Emily and Whiff are good friends.
