Added DiffLines:

* HumansAreWarriors: A very dark take on the "Humans are Useful" variation, considering Kudlak and Grantham are kidnapping human children to serve as ChildSoldiers.

Added DiffLines:

* InformedFlaw: To establish that he hasn't yet mastered humor, there's a scene where Luke tells Maria a joke that falls flat. Except his "cereal killer" joke is perfectly normal and genuinely funny.

Added DiffLines:

* DudeNotFunny: Sarah Jane is aghast that Clyde seemingly named Lance, whose father died in the Afghan War, “the Corporal” in reference to his surname. But when Luke is revealed to have come up with it, she becomes more understanding.

-->'''Grantham''': A conscience is like a stone in your shoe. You cannot imagine the relief when you throw it away.

* IJustWantToBeNormal: Luke
* KarmaHoudini: Discussed. Grantham didn't stick around after sending off Sarah Jane and Maria, but they implied he would get what was coming to him 'eventually.' And for what it was worth, they did get a chance to beat up on him, see below. It's possible, indeed probable, that either Mr. Smith or UNIT will track him down.

-->'''Grantham''': So you're going to tell the police that I helped some butt ugly alien send kids to war in a galaxy far away. It won't be me going down, love. It will be you, down to the funny farm.

* AbsurdlyDedicatedWorker: Kudlak has been ignorantly fighting a war that ended years ago, similar to the famous story of Hiroo Onoda, a Japanese soldier who continued operating on a remote island unaware that World War II was over.

* ForeverWar: The Uvodni are locked in a long conflict against an unseen and apparently far worse race called the Malakh. Subverted in the end as it turns out Kudlak's information is outdated; the war ended over a decade ago and his mission has been pointless.
* GirlyRun: Humorously, Kudlak chases Sarah Jane and Maria with a bizarre, prancing gait.

* HeelFaceTurn: General Kudlak.

to:

* HeelFaceTurn: General Kudlak.Upon realising that his Mistress is an AI that has been lying to him for decades, Kudlak is so ashamed and dishonoured for his actions that he offers Sarah Jane his gun to execute him with.

Added DiffLines:

* WellIntentionedExtremist: Kudlak kidnaps human children to serve in the Uvodni military and use their combat skills against the Malakh, acting on the orders of his Mistress that it is necessary for them to end the war. However, as soon as he discovers the truth, he doesn't hesitate to stop.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: General KudlakClyde refers to Lance by his nickname, Corporal. Sarah tells them that this nickname probably upset Lance because his father was a soldier that was killed in battle. Luke is upset by this because he thought he finally said something humorous and he leaves the house upset.
