* JustJokingJustification: Ryan, "inspired" by how Michael "just takes what he wants", goes to Erin's desk and propositions her for sex. She asks if he's joking, and the situation is so awkward Ryan is grateful for the out.

* SympatheticAdulterer: Subverted. Michael clearly thinks Donna is cheating with him because her husband is neglectful and/or abusive, but his firsthand experience with her husband convinces him otherwise.

* HypocriteHasAPoint: Michael snaps back and asks why wasn't Stanley questioned when he was having an affair during the season premier. That time the office defended Stanley instead of making him confront his wife, which the office this time do to Michael. No one has any answer to that, and they still blame Michael.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Subverted. It's the fact that Michael is acting too much like his usual, cheery self that clues everyone in that he hasn't broken up with Donna.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Though Michael has done some abhorrent things in the past that the rest of the office was eventually able to brush off, willingly being in an affair with a married woman even after meeting her husband is clearly a level above everything else. Most of the office shuns him, with Phyllis refusing to look at him and even Meredith claiming that's a bridge she would never cross.
--> Meredith: I have never cheated, been cheated on, or been used to cheat with.
* GroinAttack: Dwight repeatedly does this to himself, desperate not to get Angela pregnant.

Michael reveals that he is still seeing Donna after learning that she’s married in the previous episode. Although he tries to rationalize it and play himself up as the good guy in his situation, the staff openly disapprove of his actions, particularly Andy due to his previous experience.

Meanwhile, Jim and Pam have trouble staying awake at work due to their new baby, and Angela tries to make Dwight honor their pregnancy contract.
