Completely justified. The only weapon Asami had was her electro glove, which is probably the last thing you'd want to use on a Waterbender. And though her self defense training may very well have included chi-blocking, we only see her beating up Equalists (read: other non-benders,) and that with some of their own technology; for all we know she'd get curbstomped going up against benders herself.

That night, Korra returns to City Hall to confront Tarrlok. Each compares the other to Amon, At hearing Korra's retort, Tarrlok attacks Korra, and a fight ensues. Tarrlok is forced out of his room and runs out of water to bend, and resorts to bloodbending despite the absence of a full moon. He sends Korra flying into a wall and approaches her. Korra has another vision of Aang, Toph, and Sokka. Sokka appears to be in pain, Toph is seen trying to attack the individual with metalbending cables but is unable to, and Aang reaches toward the individual.

* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Tarrlok briefly gains the upperhand against Korra when he shields himself with a water bubble being fed from the wall fountain. Korra can't breach it and he can fire icicles from it without affecting its integrity. Korra responds by earthbending the entire stone wall at him.

* ShockAndAwe: Mako uses lightning very efficiently to take down some Equalists' motorcycles and a van.
* TemptingFate: Asami, Bolin, and Mako reassure Korra [[spoiler:that like Avatar Aang, she has friends on her side and they can save Republic City together. Then the three are arrested]]. Unfortunately, she forgot about [[BloodMagic another source of water nearby]], though [[MagicAIsMagicA not without reason, since Bloodbending is supposed to be both rare and impossible to do without a full moon]].]]
