* DidntThinkThisThrough: It turns out that Barry [[Recap/TheFlash2014S1E5Plastique unmasking himself to comfort Bette in her last moments (after Eiling shot her)]], ''without'' moving a bit out of range first, was a [[WhatAnIdiot pretty stupid move on his part]] since it gave the General knowledge of his SecretIdentity and thus the ability to blackmail Wells.

** It turns out that Barry [[Recap/TheFlash2014S1E5Plastique unmasking himself to comfort Bette in her last moments (after Eiling shot her)]], ''without'' moving a bit out of range first, was a [[WhatAnIdiot pretty stupid move on his part]] since it gave the General knowledge of his SecretIdentity and thus the ability to blackmail Wells.
** This comes up when Barry's super-healing becomes a problem. Such as if there is an object in the way, it will heal around it.

** While catching up with Ronnie at a coffee shop, Caitlin reenacts the boomerang incident back at Star labs and imitates Cisco quote "My bad. This one is one me."
** Eiling mentions to Wells he knows that the Flash is Barry Allen when [[TheFlash2014S1E5Plastique he removed his mask to tend to Souci after Eiling shot her.]]

** Eiling mentioning that he last "torture-shocked" a gorilla evokes the infamous scene from ''File/RiseOfThePlanetOfTheApes'', though his OhCrap reaction when he hears said gorilla talk only happens in TheStinger.

* BrickJoke: In "The Nuclear Man", Caitlin gets unnerved when Professor Stein calls her "Cait". In this episode, the RunningGag of Stein calling Ronnie by his ''real'' name gets started.

* BrokenMasquerade: Well more like cracking, but Iris (with a little prodding from another reporter) is slowly beginning to realize that her friends at STAR Labs are hiding something.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]]: When Caitlin says the odds of Stein and Ronnie's brain waves being perfectly in sync are essentially impossible, Barry remarks, "Impossible's just another Tuesday for us." A bit of LeaningOnTheFourthWall here: the show airs on Tuesday night.

* DisneyVillainDeath: Eiling is pulled offscreen by Grodd before he is presumably killed.

* FireForgedFriends: Ronnie and Prof. Stein, both [[FusionDance lite]][[ElementalPowers rally]] and figuratively.

** Barry comments that impossible things are "just another Tuesday" for the Star Labs crew. In the following scene, Iris also says that it's Tuesday.
** When Iris briefly meets Ronnie, she comments that he looks familiar. Series wise she is referring to the picture of Firestorm that she had seen on the internet. But another interpretation can be the resemblance that Robbie Amell, who portrays Ronnie, has to actor [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/Arrow Stephen Amell]], who are real life cousins. Iris has also met Oliver briefly.
* MindHive: Exploited. As a result of their SharingABody, Dr. Stein and Ronnie are [[PsychicLink telepathically connected.]] As a result, Stein is able to convey messages through Ronnie and vice versa.

** "Dear God!" "Not God...''Grodd.''" [[Film/SupermanII Sound familiar, superhero fans?]]

* ChekovsGun: Ronnie's love for pizza gets a [[BrickJoke punchline]] when it is revealed Prof. Stein learned to like the food as well. It's also one of the first signs that Ronnie and Stein aren't as separate as they think.

* ArtisticLicensePhysics: The anti-Flash grenade is said to be made up of "metal fragments attracted to kinetic energy". By that logic, they would attack anybody who is moving, including the very person who threw it.
** Although, Barry did start to run as soon as the grenade gets thrown. So, he would have had much more kinetic energy than anything else – just as a larger magnet is generally stronger. The larger problem is that "metal fragments attracted to kinetic energy" is itself ArtisticLicensePhysics.

** Cisco references [[Recap/TheFlash2014S1E3ThingsYouCantOutrun The Mist.]] He even [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall leaned on the fourth wall]] by saying, "That was like the third week!"
