* AsYouKnow: In this episode Boss and Rosco notably keep telling each other things they both already know, as do two criminals who have decided to hide out at Skunk Hollow.

* EyeBeams: During the final chase the alien suddenly displays heat vision, using it to [[BlastingItOutOfTheirHands blast the bad guy's gun from his hand]]. Then he shoots another beam to make the steering wheel too hot to touch.
* FoodPills: What the alien eats. It offers the Dukes some when they offer it a cookie. Neither side likes the others' food.
* HandyFeet: When the alien steals Enos's car he drives it with his feet on the steering wheel. One wonders how he is pressing the gas and brake pedals.
* IResembleThatRemark: When the Dukes are claiming that they had captured the alien and tried to hold it for Boss.
-->'''Boss:''' You Dukes are lyin', as any fool can plainly see.
-->'''Rosco:''' I can see.

* ShoutOut: The Dukes meet science fiction in this tribute to ''Film/ETTheExtraTerrestrial''.

* ShoutOut: LyingFingerCross: Enos does it behind his back as he tells Boss and Rosco that the alien "popped off somewhere" even though he knows that the alien is hiding in the house with Daisy. Just about the only time he actively went against Boss Hogg or lied to him.
* PopTheTires:
** One of the baddies does this to Daisy's jeep as she and Jesse drive up just when the two bad guys are in the middle of kidnapping the alien.
** Later Daisy uses Rosco's gun to shoot the tires out of Rosco and Enos's patrol cars in order to give Bo and Luke time to deliver the alien back to where it came from.
* ScoobyDooHoax: Boss plans to set up a fake "UFO Landing Site" at Skunk Holler after Enos reports seeing a UFO there, in order to drum up money for Hazzard. Unfortunately for Boss, a FlyingSaucer really did land there.
* ShoutOut:

The Dukes meet science fiction in this tribute to ''Film/ETTheExtraTerrestrial''.''Film/ETTheExtraTerrestrial''.
** The Narrator, talking about the alien visitor: "Now we know how [[Literature/TheWonderfulWizardOfOz Dorothy felt when she landed in Oz]]."
** The two bad guys decide to take over the local radio station and start making false reports of alien invaders taking over the planet in order to get the citizens of Hazzard to panic and run away, [[Radio/TheWarOfTheWorlds "like that radio show a few years ago."]] When the town is empty they plan a mass robbery.
* StealingFromTheTill: At the start of the episode Boss Hogg and Rosco are brainstorming how to get more money for the Hazzard County Treasury because Hazzard County is broke. Of course, as Boss himself admits, it wouldn't be that broke if Boss weren't embezzling all the time.
* {{Teleportation}}: One of the alien's powers, disappearing from one place and reappearing somewhere else nearby.
* TheyWouldCutYouUp: The Dukes and Enos hide the alien from Boss Hogg, assuming that he would put him in some kind of circus sideshow.
* TryAndFollow: The Dukes make a big jump in order to get away from Rosco, as usual. But this time Rosco isn't really following, he's just pretending to chase them in order to get them to leave the Skunk Hollow "UFO Landing Site."
* TheUnpronounceable: Daisy names the alien "Little Cousin" after the alien says what the Dukes ''think'' is its name, but they can't even begin to pronounce it.
* {{WPUN}}: The local radio station is identified as WHOGG. %% With two G's like Boss Hogg's name.

* CryptidEpisode: The non-descript species of The Visitor. The episode plot itself falls under the "look after it/hide it/help it find its way home" category, with the Dukes forever trying to conceal their new friend from Boss and Rosco, who are also aware of The Visitor and want to turn him into a circus attraction (for fun and profit, of course).
